Amidst in a sex scandal controversy, Health Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek did the honourable and politically correct thing; he resigned from his Cabinet post and MP for Labis, with immediate effect.
It was an expected decision, even though he vehemently denied that he would go, at his Press Conference less than 24 hours ago in his constituency, citing that he had gone to see the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and MCA President, to explain his story and apologize.

Chua Soi Lek Resigns
MCA Vice-President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has resigned as Health Minister, and from all party posts as well as MP for Labis, with immediate effect.
Dr Chua, 61, made the announcement himself at a press conference held at the ministry at 3.35pm.
Yesterday, at a press conference in Labis, Johor, he apologised to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Cabinet ministers, party leaders and his wife and family for what had happened.
He also described the woman who appeared in the videotape engaging in sexual acts with him as his personal friend and that he did not make the recording himself.
Dr Chua said his resignation had been conveyed to the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.
“The (resignation) letter is finding its way to his (Abdullah’s) office,” he said at the packed press conference which lasted more than 45 minutes.
Clad in a dark suit, Dr Chua who was cool and collected, said: “I am relinquishing my position as Health Minister, MCA vice-president, Labis MP, Johor MCA liaison chief and Batu Pahat MCA division chief.”

This resignation came after the Cabinet had its usual weekly meeting this morning at 11.00am. There was talk that he would have been asked ‘to go’ by the MCA Central Committee, which is supposed to meet this evening at the party head quarters to discuss the scandal and how it will affect the party.
With this resignation, the week-and-a-half long sex scandal is now closed.
what can we say…farewell to the fastest shiniest star in politic..well one thing to be concerned,he already made his final hit onto health problem by showing total safe sex precaution,i bet he use durex…

Right thing to do? He should have thought of that before he did it with a “personal friend”. With such a forgiving and loving wife, he should also thought about bringing her home, share the love and done it with the wife, unrecorded at home.

It is a sad sad thing to learn that his political career is completely destroyed now, only because he just simply cannot contain his small “tambi”
he impressed upon us with his no nonsense, straight to the point way of putting across his thoughts and authority and I have to admit that he will be sadly missed.
It is just a good thing now we have two dvd’s of him in action to remember him by.

shame on those person who pry. i’m not going to pass judgement on the morality issue of what this man had done, that’s his personal and private life. the way he face up to the whole issue and handled the whole thing tells us that the nation had lost one great man serving the rakyat. how many people, politician or non-politician, have the kind of courage, guts, grace, calmness and dignity to stand up to the whole world the way he had done. let’s remember the excellent contribution this man had given to the community and the nation, and be thankful and greatful for it.
Whatever Dr. Chua did in his private time is his business and no should make a scandal out of it. The goverment should seriuosly consider taking action on the hotel for failing to protect the privacy of their guest.
