How true is Balasubramaniam’s SD?

Private investigator P. Balasubramaniam issued a revealing statutory declaration (SD), most probably 1 July 2008, first posted on Rocky’s Bru this afternoon. It is a shocking revelation indeed.

Being a Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak is always in the company of security details, and officers, which include ADC DSP Musa Saffri, UTK bodyguards, private and press secretaries, be it home or abroad. Any visitors to his private home, even in his constituency in Pekan would have a Police record. Moreover, when he is abroad. There will be additional securities, which include foreign security agencies and Malaysian diplomats will be with his entorurage. Even on holidays and private visits, there would be security details.

The truth is that from “reliable sources”, DPM had never met murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu, let alone have dinner with her and accused strategist Abdul Razak Baginda whilst in Paris. There was never trip to a diamond exhibition, even in Singapore either. Why did Balasubramaniam imagined these stories? Especially the bit about the carnal copulation discussion with Razak!

The thirteen million Ringgit question, why did Balasubramaniam have the SD now, at this point of time? Why was all of these not revealed on stand, when he was a prosecution witness in the trial, which is still on going now? And most of all, why is this SD announcement, done on a PKR platform and at this point of time, when de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is being accused of yet what seems to be another sodomy charges, for the second time in 10 years?

Lately, people have recklessly abuse SDs for their sordid political mileage based on morbid obsessions fabricated from complete lies, with the sole intent of politically assassination a politician’s career,  at a junction where one superior’s political lifespan is thought to be vicarious. Conveniently, the run up of UMNO branch meetings begin in two weeks and Anwar is actually running out of time for his ‘promised’ PR ascension to power on 16 September 2008.

At 650pm, DPM Najib made a media conferrence stating that “last week ‘traumatised’ Saiful Bukhary Azlan met him at his home to seek help over sodomy allegations against Anwar Ibrahim”. In another The Star sms break, PM ‘Flip-Flop’ Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said “Najib told him about the allegation involving Altantuya but they did not discuss it. PM declined to comment further as case is still in court”.

Allegations By PI Lies Aimed At Smearing My Image, Says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said allegations that he knew and had met murdered Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu made in a statutory declaration by private investigator P.Balasubramaniam, were malicious lies aimed at smearing his image.

Following this latest development, Najib reiterated what he had said earlier, that he never knew the woman or had ever met her.

“I am very sure this action is a desperate move by Anwar Ibrahim to divert attention from the sodomy allegation he is facing,” he told a press conference that was attended by scores of journalists at his office in Parliament here Thursday.

Najib said what was important now was not issues raised as a diversion but the people wanted to know whether the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor (Anwar) had committed the offence (sodomy) as alleged.

“I hope the concerned parties will investigate the matter fully and make the findings public as soon as possible,” he said.

On the statutory declaration, Najib said because it conflicted with Balasubramaniam’s testimony in court (in Altantuya’s murder trial) and the statement given by him in his police report, he would leave it to the proper authorities to investigate the matter.

“The responsible parties must be ready to face the consequences if it is found laws had been broken,” he said.

Asked whether he would be making a police report against Balasubramaniam or take legal action against him, Najib said he left it to the police to take action.

Asked if he would describe this revelation as a personal attack on him by Anwar, Najib said: “The question is why it surfaces now, after the sodomy complaint was made (against Anwar). Suddenly everyone has come under attack, the Inspector-General of Police (Tan Sri Musa Hassan), Attorney-General (Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail), I, why now?”

“But we cannot get sidetracked from the issue at hand, that is whether the sodomy happened or not… this is what we want to know,” he said.

Anwar Wednesday lodged a police report at the Selangor police headquarters alleging Musa and Abdul Gani had concealed facts and fabricated evidence in the case involving the physical assault on him by former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Rahim Noor on Sept 20 1998.

A male aide of Anwar, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 23, on Saturday lodged a police report at the Jalan Travers police station here alleging that he had been sodomised by the former deputy prime minister at a condominium in Bukit Damansara in the city on Thursday.

Asked why he felt that Anwar was using the case to launch this attack against him, Najib said he was not sure.

“I do not know…maybe he thinks I am behind this boy (Mohd Saiful ) but the truth is there is no conspiracy. Mohd Saiful came to see me alleging that he had been sodomised by Anwar,” he said.

The private investigator made available copies of his statutory declaration to the media at a press conference held at the PKR’s head office in Petaling Jaya near here Thursday. Anwar was present at it.

The Star sms news break “PI P. Balasubramaniam retracted that DPM introduced Razak Baginda to Altantuya Shaariibuu and that DPM had a sexual relationship with her”.

This basically shot down the credibility of the Balasubramaniam’s SD entirely.

*Updated 730pm

It seems that P. Balasubramaniam ‘Flip-Flop’ped another SD after all. Rocky Bru posted a second SD, contradicting his first SD issued on 1 July 2008. Therefore, it can be concluded, Balasubramaniam first SD (1 July 2008 ) was a lie!

No wonder it was announced by the side of Anwar “Drama King” aka “Mat King Leather” Ibrahim!

*”Mat King Leather” is the nickname tailor Meor Abdul Razak gave him, as per the recording made by the Police tapping on the phone call between the two lovers.

Why not in court?

According The Star newsbreak sms, “the private investigator in the Altantuya murder case P. Balasubramaniam announced on PKR platform that the Police omitted the information between a senior politician and Altantuya in his statement”.

If any of these were true, why Balasubramaniam chose to talk about this on PKR platform? Why did he not do it on the stand in court, since he was a prosecution witness?

Is this the HINDRAF thingy that PKR enjoyed so much from Indians, lately?

Is this another morbid obession on perpetually sordid PKR ‘sponsored’ attempt to gun down a senior politician, who is our most realistic hope to make things slightly better for most of us?

Call to end rogue speculative oil trading

Former Malaysian Prime Minister and architect of developed nation status Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad also talked about the ending of speculative and rogue futures oil trading, that has adversely affected so much in the world economy lately and coloured the fabric of societies and lifestyles, across the globe.

The Star has the story:

End oil speculation, says Dr M

By FLORENCE A. SAMY

KUALA LUMPUR: Asean countries should make a united stand at a world forum and demand an end to oil speculation to stop rising oil prices, says former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“This (skyrocketing fuel prices) whole thing is due to speculation and not because there is a shortage of oil.

“If there is shortage, then an increasing price will result in increased production. But now, the price keeps increasing but the production remains the same. It is manipulation.

“A few people are making a lot of money. Oil companies are making tons of money. Oil producers are also making lots of money and the people who have this money have to keep it somewhere. If they keep it in any country and buy bonds there, then that country makes money,” he said in an interview on Monday.

Dr Mahathir said it was important to make a stand, just like during the currency crisis previously, but a stronger, and more united one this time.

“For example, we took a stand and condemned currency trading but of course, in the end, we had to devise our own way of overcoming it.

“The world has to tackle this (oil price) problem but it requires a lot of people. Asean countries should demand that this should not go on,” he added.

Dr Mahathir said the Government and people had a role to play in dealing with the current situation.

“The Government must know how to manage the economy during difficult times, and not just in cordial, simpler times.

“They have to sit down, study, get all the details and try to analyse them, and get others who have the expertise to tell you. Only then can you can find a formula to resolve the problem,” he said.

He said one had to face the reality of increasing oil prices, and find ways to reduce consumption.

“During my time, the price of oil was US$30 (RM98  ) per barrel. Today, it is US$143 per barrel. Obviously, you cannot insist on paying the same price.

“It has to be higher but how much higher and at what rate, that is a different matter.”

He said there were many ways to reduce consumption but the Government had to find ways to help the people.

“Every individual has a way of managing himself and the household but the Government has a role to play. It cannot say this is your business and you have to live with it, no. The Government must find ways,” he added.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Petronas adviser, said the national oil company needed to source for oil investments overseas to make preparations before the oil supply ran out.

**************************************

It is now imperative that the Government advocate very strongly the issue of speculative and futures oil trading at international forums and create global level awareness and active discussions, so that this rogue trading is checked and curbed. The price of oil can be reflected on production, actual cost and realistic demand and proper economic forces will determine the market price, instead of artificial forces being manipulated. The price of other commodities, which include food, the most important ingredient to sustain life, will be stabilized and normalized in very realistic positions.

This is something very serious that the Government should do and the nation building rest on the ability to control and manage oil price, the most important commodity in modern everyday lives all over this globe.
