Recently, there have been calls for Malaysians to boycott US made products, in support of the latest brutal invasion on the Palestinians in Gaza, which already cost the lives of over 750 innocent civilians, especially non combatants like women, children and old folks. We should also look closely the other major supporters and ’strategic partners’ of Israel, in the terms of defense, especially people so close to us.
SAR 21 assault rifles and ammunition have been used to brutalise and massacre the defenseless and downtrodden non combatants Palestinians in Gaza, including women and children. Little that the world realise, SAR 21 automatic assault rifles are indigenous weapon developed and manufactured by Singapore Technologies. The CEO of Temasek Holdings is Ho Ching, the wife of Singapore Prime Minister Brig. Gen. (NS) Lee Hsien Loong. Temasek Holdings is the parent company to Singapore Technologies, a GLC.
Singapore, have had very close and strategic partnership with the Israelis, especially in defense since their expulsion from the Federation of Malaysia 9 Aug 1965. Within two months, Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew received the Israeli Defense Attache based in their embassy in Bangkok for immediate military assistance, in favour against India and Egypt. Soon, six military advisers were dispatched to form the Singapore’s pioneer military unit; the First Infantry Regiment, commonly known now as 1 SIR. The rest is as they say, is history.
Till present as being very good friends, Singaporeans still receive military assitance, especially advance training from the Israelis. Formalised military collaborations have been strengthened since then, especially when formal organisations are formed for the co-operation and development projects. The effort put by both nations on R & D work on defense and strategic weaponry is immense. The progress and direction all of these co-operation and joint developmental work should be worried and frightened about. Singapore is Israeli third most important strategic partner in defense development.
Time an again, Singapore is being coined as “The Israel of the East”. Hence, Malaysians should unanimously support the call to boycott Singaporean products, in support of our brothers living vicariously in their homes, now under siege and brutal bombardment.

Don’t be an idiot man. I understand your frustration against Israel, but calling a boycott of Singapore products is both irresponsible and stupid.
Firstly any boycott of American and Singaporean products will affect MALAYSIANS more than it will affect Singapore and America.
Secondly, Singapore has close military ties with Israel, not because they support Israeli Foreign Policy, it’s simply that the 2 countries share common traits,i.e. their both small countries, limited population , no natural resources and surrounded by countries much bigger than them. It only made sense for Singapore to consult Israel.
Finally, what happens to Malaysians who work in Singapore, and vice-versa. What happens to Malaysians who work for Singaporean companies. If you boycott Singapore, can Singapore boycott Malaysia? Considering we’ll be feeling a pinch as well? In times of economic uncertainty, are we willing to boycott a country that hasn’t supported the Israeli incursion but merely using Israel technology.
Open your laptop, if it’s a centrino chip, it’s designed in Haifa. If your company uses Symantec, it most probably was programmed in Israel. If you boycott the Americans, what Computer Chip will you use? AMD and Intel are both American companies.
Get real man. Boycotts only work if you are a super power, Malaysia isn’t.
The last point, is that Singapore are our real brothers. We may not like their kiasu attitudes or their snobbish behavior, but their Asians and their our neighbours.

i think you made a mistake to comparing sar 21 with tavor which is the actual rifle used by idf . although sing army do have a close relationship with idf , they designed their own weapons except for advanced weaponry such as the uav and spike missiles. both have the same bullpup design as well ammo type but only that.

As mentioned above, there are some factual inaccuracies in your post. If you had cared to read the source you cited (Wikipedia), you might have noticed that Israel is not a user of the SAR-21 rifle. As mentioned before, the Tavor-21 is also of a bullpup design, but both rifles are only similar externally. Tavor-21 the SAR-21 are distinct weapons. The Tavor-21 and SAR-21 have as much in common with the Steyr Aug, also a bullpup design, and previously manufactured for use with the MAF by Steyr Mannlicher Sdn Bhd. Care to start a call for boycotting Malaysian companies?
I am obviously being facetious here, but do check your facts before writing inflammatory articles, it would save you time and aggravation.

Yes, Singapore made the SAR-21. Israel entered Palestine areas. But they are not connected. Israel do not use the SAR-21. India and Egypt gave assistance to Singapore but did not extend any military aid.
Fact – Malaysia made us Independent, we didn’t ask for it. We didn’t vote for it.
Fact – Israel agreed to help and advise us when the rest of the countries we wrote to didn’t. Certainly looking at the state of Malaysia’s military today, you can tell.
Seeing how the link on ‘Israel of the East’ is actually an article on Israel wanting to model themselves to be the Singapore of Middle East, shows no logic nor regard for facts in this blog post.
