Rumours are spreading that defected former-AMK-Chief and Anwarista Ezam Md. Nor would be appointed as a Senator in the Dewan Negara soon. If the rumour is true, then the reason for the appointment is unclear. However, it was thought to be an ‘incentive’ for the fight against former-abuse-of-power-convict Anwar “Mat King Leather” Ibrahim.

PM 'Flip-Flop' Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi embraced former AMK Chief Ezam Md. Nor back into UMNO's fold, May 2008
Ezam, who was one of the closest aide to Partyless-Opposition-Leader Anwar “Mat King Leather” Ibrahim defected out of PKR in May 2008 re-join UMNO. The rift between Anwar’s closest aides were strongly detected starting the May 2006 Sarawak State Elections, were ‘money’ was the main issue. It was said that Anwar via his Neo-Con-Jewish friends and connections amassed millions in USD for PKR, particularly facing the first major elections after his acquittal from Federal Court on the sodomy conviction. However, the monies did not trickle down to the grassroot operations during the intense first major PKR elections in Sarawak. To make matters worse, leaders close to Anwar like Azmin Ali and Khalid Ibrahim were given VIP treatment in 5-Star accommodations whilst in Kuching and being ferried in top-of-the-line SUVs.
Of course, the problems of ‘little napolean’ and ‘nepotism’ within PKR and persons closest to Anwar snowballed into bigger and chronic issues. Hence, leaders like YBs Dato’ Seri Zahrain Hashim, Tan Tee Beng and Mohsin Fadzil strengthened the problematic areas which are pointing towards PKR’s self destruction mode.
The defection back into UMNO was not actually welcomed with open arms by some leaders. Some even issued press statement for this. The suspicion against Anwaristas is still strong and the distrust is very apparent, especially when Ezam was labelled as ‘traitors’, equally in the same ranks of Anwar and other Anwaristas for the actions they did to systematically disrupt and destabilize Malaysian political, socio-economical and fabric of society with their consistent and veracious lies and provocation of the rakyats’ emotion. Ezam was part of Anwarista-ism for ten years before his defection back into UMNO. There will be certain quarters to question what is Ezam’s contribution for him to be ‘rewarded’. Has Ezam taken the lead and managed to deliver several previous PKR won seats, to redeem his ‘sins’?
Regardless, the development of this rumour is an interesting item to be closely watched.

Ezam Md Nor being appointed as a Senator is no longer a rumour. He and three others will swear into office at Dewan Negara tomorrow.
Bernama.com reports:
Palanivel, Ezam among 4 new Senators
2010/04/28
KUALA LUMPUR: MIC deputy president Datuk G. Palanivel and former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) youth chief Ezam Mohd Noor will be among four new senators who will be sworn in on Monday.
The others are Rahim and Co executive chairman Datuk Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman and Pagoh Umno Wanita chief Noriah Mahat, Dewan Negara secretary Datuk Zamani Sulaiman said when contacted by Bernama to confirm the new appointments.
They are scheduled to be sworn in before Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang.
Palanivel is also the former women, family and community development deputy minister.
Ezam, who is also the former secretary of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when contacted through the short-messaging service (SMS), confirmed the appointment but declined to comment further.
“Yes, it is true. I will only be making a statement after being sworn-in. I am currently in Jakarta on business,” he said. – BERNAMA

Hmm. I for one don’t see the reason why Ezam must be made a Senator or be involved in Cabinet in any way. He needs to prove his worth first via election. Today, the politics in Najib’s administration place emphasis on People First Performance Now. Putting Ezam into the game doesn’t seem to fit the concept outlined.
Many need to be convinced and it will be hard for us to go out to explain the reasons of his appointment to the man in the streets.
salam..
i wonder what was KJ’s contribution when he was “handed” the post of Deputy UMNO Youth?
In the case od Ezam, with all the knowledge he has and his clean facade he ought to be given this opportunity.
i believe he can positively contribute to UMNO.

Apa untungya UMNO menanggung biawak hidup..
Ezam sebagai Senator? Apa jasa Ezam? Kerana serahkan bukti2 Anwar? KJ mungkin impress… UMNO impresske? Rakyat Malaysia impresske? Berjuang untuk Jawatan rupanya budak ni… Terimakasih DS Najib n Tan Sri Muhyiddin… ramaikan lagi perjuang2 tajaan KJ dan Anwar ni…
ok la tu…najib perlukan seorang tukang pukul dalam dewan negara…tak cukup yang dok ada sekarang nie… aku setuju ezam jadi senator…tapi tak payah lantik masuk kabinet…cukup dengan bagi senator saja…
Bagus…kalau saudara Ezam jadi senator, kita perlukan seorang hero mcm Ezam utk berjuang dlm menambahbaik Umno.
Big Guy,
Banding dgn DOSA DIA PADA ORG MELAYU SELAMA 10 TAHUN!!!!
Big Dog
It is always that they appointed Senators for a direct political milage. Like doing a favour to another party who cannot cough up a “bonafide” people’s representative i.e. a member of parliament. I heard an MIC chap who cannot get elected may be given a Senator seat. What a farce
To me it is far better for this goverment to get some senators from the prefessional background to do specific job. What I have in mind is, some Ministry like Internal affair, may need a real professional to do the lob satisfactorily.
To pick up a politicians who dont have the background for these jobs sometimes dont work.
As an example, an ex-IGP would be great for a senator and the post in the internal affair. Perhaps then we can have an effective ministry.
You may be suprised, the silent majority may like and support the idea.
mohamed
bro big
bariskan ezam dengan 10 pemimpin terbaik pemuda umno, saya yakin ezam jauh mendahului dihadapan.
sumbangan ezam selama 2 tahun ini ? nampaknya bro big menulis dari bilik hawa dingin ! turun lah kelapangan melihat perjuangan anak muda ini.
NO !!!! NO !!!! NO !!!!!! what ever it is , EZAM should be side lined … NO!!!!NO!!!!NO!!!! enough is enough ,, we appreciate EZAMs support for UMNO n BN but big NO to any post at the moment,, please NAJIB … FORGIVEN BUT NOT FORGOTTEN…. NO!!!NOOO!!!!NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! we had enough traitors in UMNO, NOOOO!!!!NOOOO!!!! sorry EZAM , not that we dont like you.. but we are not impressed yet ….. UMNO HAD ENOUGH PROBLEMS TO SOLVE.. JANGAN TAMBAH GARAM PADA LUKA……… NOOOOO!!! NOOO!! Oh GOD help us…… show the path…… COME TOGETHER FOLK UNITED WE STAND BUT NOT EZAMM……
bro ramalan lu betul belaka laa…ezam dah jadi senator…maklumat lu memang tip top la bro…hehe
Walaupun kita tak suka Ezam, think positivelah. Dia cuma senator, bukan menteri pun..at least bolehlah dia bantai Anwar kat parlimen. Ezam tau banyak rahsia dia..jadi Anwar tak lah boleh melalut sesuka hati bila bercakap tu..
