Spare a thought for Uncle Tony F, Chief Executive of ‘Cheapo Carrier Asia…….
Arriving in a hotel in KL Sentral he went to the bar and asked for a pint of draught Guinness. The barman nodded and said, “That will be one Ringgit please, Uncle Tony.”
Somewhat taken aback, Uncle Tony replied, “That’s very cheap,” and quickly handed over his money. “Well, we try to stay ahead of the competition”, said the barman. “And we are serving free pints every Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. We have the cheapest draught in Asia”
“That is remarkable value” Uncle Tony comments.
“I see you don’t seem to have a glass, so you’ll probably need one of ours. That will be three Ringgit please”.
Uncle Tony scowled, but paid up.
He took his drink and walked towards a seat. “Ah, you want to sit down?” said the barman. “That’ll be an extra two Ringgit You could have pre-book the seat, and it would have only cost you a Ringgit” “I think you may to be too big for the seat sir, can I ask you to sit in this frame please”
Uncle Tony attempts to sit down but the frame is too small and when he can’t squeeze in he complains “Nobody would fit in that little frame”.
“I’m afraid if you can’t fit in the frame you’ll have to pay an extra surcharge of four Ringgit for your seat sir” Tony swore to himself, but paid up.
“I see that you have brought your laptop with you” added the barman. “And since that wasn’t pre-booked either, that will be another three Ringgit” Uncle Tony was so annoyed that he walked back to the bar, slammed his drink on the counter, and yelled, “This is ridiculous, I want to speak to the manager”.
“Ah, I see you want to use the counter,” says the barman, “that will be two Ringgit please.”
Uncle’s face was red with rage. “Do you know who I am?”
“Of course I do Mr F”, quips the barman with glee.
“I’ve had enough, What sort of Hotel is this? I come in for a quiet drink and you treat me like this. I insist on speaking to a manager!” said Tony F, raising his voice.
“Here is his Eemail address, or if you wish, you can contact him between 9 and 9.10 every morning, Monday to Tuesday at this free phone number. Calls are free, until they are answered, then there is a talking charge of only 10 sen per second provided you use Toon Talk using other mobile carriers would incur our normal charges of 30 Sen per second”, the barman answered coyly
“I will never use this bar again!”, exclaim the award winning CEO.
“OK Uncle , but remember, we are the only bar in Asia selling pints for one Ringgit…so that Now everyone can drink!”.

A badtaste joke. Unfortunately, in real life there are millions of Malaysian willing to visit this bar despite the short coming of the bar compare to the full service bar which suffer millions of losses year after year.
Bernama just now says TF says he may leave Air Asia, No timeline set. Damn, I can’t c & p Bernama news.
He said, “We are coming to a point where there’ll be a leadership change”.
I heard that too.
Confirmed, TF screwed everybody including PM relatives and cronies.
Good one Big Dog!
I had a good laugh.
At least I know I am being screwed….
with current govt they screwed me left & right, and I didn’t get a pint at all
Tuan Big Dog
What an excellent piece. I disagree with lgl that this is a bad taste joke. I think lgl need to learn the difference between a joke and a satire.
I have been an ardent follower of your blog. Unless i am wrong – this is a first satirical from you. Syabas. Keep up the good work.
What i like about this piece is the brilliant way you illustrated the trap that AA had laid out for their cheapo seeking suckers. It is cheap until you add up all the charges (if you know how to add)
The BIG question is — how do we get Mr. PM to read this. You have really hit the ‘pint’ on the head. The PM must realize — this dealings between Khazanah and Tony F have all Malaysians feeling being F’ed by Tony F.
YB CK Wee had raised these matters in parliament. Sadly lawmakers in UMNO and BN and even the opposition MPs had kept silent. I wonder why?
I wondered if the oppo MPs is thinking — allow Najib to luncai himself. Biar dia terjun dengan labunya. Certainly this was their strategy when slumberjack was in office. This strategy worked for them and they were rewarded with the political tsunami of 2008.
Things became so bad that Tun M had to step in and take on the job of the opposition all by himself. The rest my friends as they say — is history.
I wonder if the UMNO MPs are thinking — better to allow Najib to set new standards in F’ing the people and this country. My time will come and by god, i can and will certainly OUT DO Najib.
Remember when Tun M decided to be the one man opposition — Nazri Aziz yelled “We did not criticize you for 22 years. Why do you want to criticize us now. Just go away”
Wallah Waalam
I understand that most Pakatan MPs are not interested in opposing the US-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement because deep down, many perhaps are neo-liberals at heart.
Well neo-liberals would love Tony F and AirAsia, which could explain the opposition silence on it. As for UMNO there could be other reasons but either way, their silence is deafening.
AirAsia….I dont know how to explain in accounting terms but i noted a few things that bother me ..to some it may sound like a stroke of a cunning biz moves but to me it look like not being honest in conduct.
1. Ordering huge no of planes purely on loans ..too big to fail thus banks are force to continue supporting the frenzy
2. Overhype marketing to stay relevant…..F1 and premier league…oooo pliz….Target market??? QPR supporter and AirAsia???
3. Continuos expansion and even with losing biz
4. Major decision eg Japan AirAsia when even the plane not ready ,announced to increase the share price
5. Negotiate at peak share price (immediately afterJapan announcement)in haste knowing fully that when hightide level is off,he is known by everyone to be naked !! Get Khazanah boys to awe and drool over your ‘biz savvy’ with numbers, and they are hooked!!
6. Blaming everyone ( his boys would follow)but himself .Good target MAHB ,knowing fully that he has to toe the line in other airports but has political muscles in Malaysia to abuse.
7. Everyone ,including Goverment ,are forced to continue supporting the ever expanding AA .
8. If AA ( i hope the time never come) fails,we are all screwd
Like i said before,it sounded like a PONZI scheme to me !!!
DrPotong
HEAR HEAR
hahahaha… good one dude!
Yeap, It is Ponzi aka money laundering.
It is like I have 500 millions of HOT money so I invested on Tony.
I would be happy if I can get 200 millions since the money is not mine in the first place, get it?
He, he, he.
Brilliant!!!.
I LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! Please tweet it to him …. being a sucker himself, I am sure a little banter wouldn’t hurt.
Awesome. The parallels are so obvious.
Bro Big Dog,
Thanks a million. A truly brilliant piece that speaks of the sentiments of thousands of “screwed” passengers of AA. I was at LCCT last week and do you know that they charge RM40 for every kg of your baggage if you didn’t buy the right amount of weight at point of purchasing your tickets? Can you imagine? 7 kg will cost you RM280 on the spot! Besides that, the bloody departure hall at LCCT is so bloody pathetics! Although your boarding pass clearly shows that Boarding Time is at 5.30am, you are still not allowed to enter departure hall even at 5.20am and instead all passengers – young and old need to make a long queue outside the departure gate……
Is this what you call value? Big Dog, you are absolutely right in your article yesterday when you questioned why that bloody hypocrite Tony F is asking for an SLA from MAHB but forgeting AA SLA to its customers???
Tony F is now trying to garner support from the public whom he has screwed totally in his greedy fight with MAHB….and yeah, after he has screwed MAS as well in sponsoring QPR…..
This is exactly what TF trying to explain. The LCCT is a air conditioned horse stable. With such a low standard waiting hall, the MAHB got the gut to increase the airport tax but not the quality of service. Anyway the fact that you take AA mean you are probably can’t afford the full service MA so why complaint. If you are not satisfy with AA, go and take MA, nobody is forcing you to enrich AA. You pay basic price and expect basic service only. The charge of RM40 for every kg is misleading. You should have book for a bigger luggage allowance during online booking not at the airport check in counter and being charged for excess baggage. Sour loser!
lgl,
that LCCT which u call horse stable was excatly what AirAsia wanted years ago. What an idiot. MAHB had to build that for them coz they do not want to be in KLIA coz turnaround would be ‘slow’ for them.
AA tickets are so expensive actually. Don’t believe me? Try book a flight to Jakarta or Manila for flights in the next two weeks
But sometimes, you do not know how much baggage you will be carrying. Of course, passengers will look for best fares and service. Initially, it appears AA is the cheapest but apparently it is NOT. With all the other services that MAS if putting in, MAS is definitely more competitive than AA. Besides, you don’t need to queue forever and ever, rush for seats, facing stewardess who insist of eating even when you try to sleep. If AA does not like MAHB, go elsewhere immediately he thinks is beneficial to him. We don’t need another bloodsucker.
Ooi, Mister lgl,
Ever heard of being customer- oriented?
Ever herad of using valid arguments?
Where you learnt this take it or leave it argument, ha?
Haba haba.
I think mister lgl must be a Tony F worshiper. That’s why he doesn’t mind being screwed by Tony.
HGD is right in saying that the pathetic LCCT was built based on AA’s request. Now that moronic Tony is trying to screw MAHB the same way he screwed the ordinary people by trying to rally public sympathy on the new KLIA2 which I believe is being planned based on AA’s demands as well.
Did that s.o.b. Tony ever have the public interest at heart? NO & NEVER! But when he need support to further his evil deeds, he will exploit his employees as well as the public without a 2nd thought.
I fully salute people like Big Dog who can “smell rats” instantaneously and called that moron Tony’s bluff…wakaka
Expensive? I just back from holiday in Phuket. Return tickets for 4 adults and 4 children with AA total RM1200. Can I can from MA? No way. The money I saved from MA enough for me to cover for the hotel room expenses.
Yes, a bloody good one, BD.
Very apt, too.
It certainly provides a break from the serious posts bashing the wayward and cheating blokes – which are necessary, too.
Now everyone get screwed… Once, i got better deal from MAS. Cheaper around Rm10. But MAS include everything… No need to pay for flying maggi. Just go and have a nice journey.
we have free market here. you dont like airasia’s services, take other airlines la. when you buy the tickets, you know already the limitations that come with it.
economist…you are right that we have free market here. But AA is not doing is right coz most of his other services are hidden and not specified clearly. It is the norm for passengers who are used to assume that what they see is what they get. Apparently, this is where AA takes advantage of Malaysian passengers. I guess MAHB should do likewise to AA. BTW, why don’t AA refund the airport tax for cancel passengers without further delays.
No wonder you are exconomist.
Same stuff as lgl – using argument if you don’t like it, leave it. Apa daaa.
Haba haba.
Sure. In theory, a free market lets you choose between a five star hotel and a backpackers inn but if you only have the funds for a backpackers inn then in practice you have no choice, while if you have the funds for a five-star hotel, you can also exercise your choice to stay in a backpackers inn.
Many people who fly AirAsia, such as foreign workers, have no choice – FULL STOP.
So AirAsia, should not take its passengers for granted.
Basically you have no choice if you cannot afford the choice, so cut this rhetorical “it’s a free market” crap.
This whole problem with MAS & AirAsia could have been avoided if:
a) Malaysians are more savvy and see the bigger picture before being bamboozled by AirAsia’s promise of “cheap” fares – add them all up and it’s more or less the same. Plus they make it very hard for you to get your money back if you’re unable to make the flight for any reason by having you jump through so many hoops that in the end you’d get tired & just forget about it.
b) The idiots up top in the govt didn’t place an arse like Tajuddin Ramli who effectively ruined MAS due to his own personal greed causing the subsequent management to mop up his mess. Unfortunately subsequent mgmt had done their job incompetently (even Idris Jala who somewhat stemmed the losses but caused service levels to deteriorate to unimaginable proportions).
how long does the moderator needs to verify our comments. Its like a slow coach. please don’t print this, tq
True…tony screw plp…he actually bully plp, ladt time if i booked MAS earlier i can get price cheaper thn airasia, but after tony come n screw MAS, d seat no mre cheap n I’m force to take AA, with delay n bad service, firefly also no mre cheap after tony rape MAS AA bully people, DAPig nvr voice tis bully concept coz DAPig busy raping penang..tony action all for his benefit….ask MAS to sponsor his personnal investment…tony drama king.
MAHB build comfortable lcct2 with international standard, but AA want horse stable terminal coz tony treat passenger as animal n bully passengers..dt y tony fighting for low class terminal…wats wrg hv high class terminal…tony drama king….cheat passengers
Why not MAHB let Tony have the LCCT horse stable and other low cost carriers use KLIA2
Excellent. Hit it right at the heart.
Yes, AA is bloody damn expensive now, believe me. For folks living in Bintulu, whether local or expatriate will agree with me. The people or a traveler are forced to pay for a ticket from MAS at not less than RM300.00 especially during peak period, where as AA will charge at least RM500.00 after all the pluses. What choice do they have, its is either MAS or AA- both screwing Bintulu folks to the limit. Yet, the local politician especially, one who is an Assistant Minister of Tourism, smile and pretends nothing happen and the other one an MP, cares for nothing as he has his own private jet and belongs to the same league of the Malaysia’s Book of who is who can con who.
They have become too big, powerful to care about others.
That’s a good one old boy. I’ve been wondering how TF has the guts to shake his fists in the face of a GLC which operates under the rules of the Govt could get scot free with all his wild antics.
Oh yes TF seems to be having his way most of the times and then suddenly he has to stall and kowtow, he blew his head off. Fortunately Tan Sri Bashir still has got strong back bones and able to remain firm. But what happen to those in authority in the Ministry of Transport, Income Tax, Khazanah, can’t any of them come out with a firm statement and tell TF off that the decision of the Govt wether it be the aitport tax or the construction of the new airport which is being built for AA should be questioned.
The public is also wondering why the silence in Najib and Muhiyuddin. Are they not worried that this could be an issue at the coming GE – that someone big and powerful is behind TF and that’s why he is that brazen. And that somebody could be wearing a sarong?
AA and TF must be put in their proper places.
Dzulman says…
Why wasn’t the issue raised at the recent UMNO meeting?
I don;t understand you guys. If you don’t like Air Aisa dont fly Air Asia la. Whats the problem.
I wish this is for real. Then this guy will know how frustrated it is to be a passenger in this airline.
“I don;t understand you guys. If you don’t like Air Aisa dont fly Air Asia la. Whats the problem.” bodoh pandai
You want to know the truth? This airline stinks. And worst it is in our face day. You know, like the saying ” same shit different day “
BD i wonder if TF has a blessing from the sky…saya PM himself what do say…
That is a very good question whjich has crossed my mind too.
My friend believes there are higher powers behind the AirAsia/MAS share swap and that the TF/MAHB kerfuffle over airport tax, etc is just a diversion to distract public attention from the share swap issue and in effect it already has done so, judging from the fact that we here speak more about TF vs MAHB rather than the AirAsia/MAS share swap.
While, that’s of course still just speculation, we need to maintain vigilance.
This shows…..he who ‘screw’ around ……..get screw in the end
Have a taste of your own medicine
xiesha
air asia X – rafidah aziz
MAHB – bashir ahmad
this is political n cronisme issue……
Aiyoo Big Dog
Tolonglah!

Isk isk … boleh kasi translate ke Husin Lempoyang bagi puak-puak Malay medium.
Tapi tak boleh jual beer, ganti nasi lemak.
hahaaha….niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiceeeeeeee one…let’s just hope this can get Mr.F to think…errr….wisely..?
DD
A suprise by MAS during KL_BTU flight; serving ice cream to all passengers.
Ha ha… that would have been an additional RM5 if you fly TONY F AA.
But MAS counter ticketing service at Bintulu needs to be improved, more smiles from the front liners.
All being said, AA and TONY F is screwing the Sarawakians to the limit. I call for those who can afford MAS tickets, go on MAS, let the screwer at AA realise that people power will prevail. To the MP, dont just throw your money around and talk about gangsters problem in Bintulu. Talk laa about how Bintulu folk get screwed by AA and MAS..
is airasia and mas getting their own dose of medicine
