Riong Kali got it wrong again

Riong Kali is getting it all wrong again. NST published a story, “PM and Dr M share more than just dialogue”, which highlighted that the former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad seemed to be pleased with the recently concluded Langkawi International Dialogue (LID). Then again what else to be expected from a spinmaestro.

Bernama.com published it as :

Abdullah’s Magnanimous Disposition To Tun M Pleases All E-mail this news to a friend Printable version of this news

MAGNANIMOUS DISPOSITION… Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (right) shaking hands with his predecessor Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the closing dinner of the Langkawi International Dialogue (LID) 2007. Looking on is Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali (left).

The truth is that, this spate between the former and current Prime Minister, was never about anything personal. At least not from Tun Dr. Mahathir’s stand. His stinging criticisms in the open, which began in Kelab Century Paradise talk on 22 June 2006 were about issues. At his press conference after the four eyed meeting in Seri Perdana, two days before Hari Raya, 22 October 2006, he made it clear it was about issues detrimental to the nation and decision making process of the Prime Minister. PM took criticisms against his son’s companies getting contracts from GLCs and his son-in-law ‘invisible’ hand in politics as personal and it was widely known he never took this lightly.

Riong Kali has done it again. Of course Tun Dr. Mahathir was happy with this recent LID. The South-South-Smart-Partnership-Cooperation which he started since 1995 is still very much alive and the current administration made effort to see its continuity. It is obvious that Tun Dr. Mahathir is still very much relevant to programs like LID and his participation and contribution is still important.

Riong Kali has brought the NST to do the 11 June 2006 again. Then again, are we surprised by Riong Kali for this?
