Tahlil and sembahyang hajat for Tun Dr. Mahathir

A special tahlil and sembahyang hajat was held at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, off Jalan Duta here this evening for former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. The invitation was issued by his family.

Over 400 people attended this special congregation, which started from Mahgrib onwards. All of Tun Dr. Mahathir’s children were present with their spouses and most of their children as well. A packed Nasi Bukhara were distributed after the Isya’ prayers.

Dato’ Marina, En. Mirzan, Dato’ Mokhzani and Dato’ Mukhriz were very pleased and appreciative that so many people from all walks of life came to offer prayers, say grace and show their support for the recuperating process.

Tun Dr. Mahathir started to have soft diet

Former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, 82, who is still recovering at the ICU in IJN after Monday’s landmark and successful coronary by-pass has been given soft diet, like ice cream.

Institut Jantung Negara, 7 September….

 

YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad continues to make progress into the third day of his post by-pass surgery treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of Institut Jantung Negara.

In keeping with this progress, IJN anaesthetic team led by Dato Dr Mohd Hassan Mohd Ariff and comprising of Dr Sharifah Suraya Syed Tahir, Dato Dr Syed Abdul Aziz Syed Zain and Dr Nor Azlina Abdul Jalil are also gradually easing on his support medications.

Having tolerated liquid diet yesterday, the doctors have also started Tun Dr Mahathir on a soft diet today.

Doctors are also starting a more intensive chest physiotherapy today, as are exercises to his arms and legs.

Tun Dr Mahathir will continue to be warded at the ICU. Visitors are still restricted to immediate family members.
