Daulat Tuanku and unweathering pledge of allegiance

Yesterday, Tuesday 11 December 2007 was HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Sultan of Selangor’s official 62nd birthday celebrations. It was a public holiday for the state of Selangor, the most populous and developed state in Malaysia.

HRH Sultan Sharafuddin who was actually born on 24 December 1945 at Istana Jemaah, Klang ascended to the throne of the Selangor monarchy on 21 November 2001, after the passing of his father, HM Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Hishamuddin Alam Shah in Kuala Lumpur, at that time the XI Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong.

He is an avid sportsman, who ventured into global sailing (1995-1996) in his yacht, “Jugra” and participated in the much acclaimed 16,000km “Peking to Paris Challenge” in 1997. He is also the Captain-in-Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy and was in LIMA ’07 recently at the ceremony to name the fourth new generation patrol vessel (NPV). KD Terengganu by HM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong.

Recently HRH Sultan Sharafuddin made a stern call against the extremist militant group HINDRAF. In August, he reminded that the national day celebrations should not be unduly politicised.

The Star has the story on who will be accorded and invested with the state highest awards in commemoration of this birthday celebrations, which include some noted elder Malaysians who have immensely contributed in the field of social and humanitarian in the State:

PM’s wife leads list of award recipients

This blog had waited twenty four hours and observed around the bloggosphere for bloggers to wish HRH Sultan Sharafuddin a sincere birthday gesture to commemorate, if not pledge loyalty and allegiance. However, non avail.

This blog noticed that some usage of the word “Daulat Tuanku” were used by some people, especially here in bloggosphere, when their political aspiration is very much hoped for and/or perceived to be ‘entertained’ and given the due ‘perkenan‘ by HRHs. Otherwise, they would not even bother about the HRHs at all, far out from using the phrase “Daulat Tuanku” whenever appropriate, like yesterday’s official celebrations or the swearing in and coronation of the XIII Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong in April.

So now some intellectual Malaysians chose to ‘prostitute’ the exalted position of HRHs, for the own narrow political aspirations and considerations, especially as his humble rakyat, pick and choose when it’s the right moment and opportunity to use the phrase ‘Daulat Tuanku’?

That is so inappropriate, inept and self centred!

Allegiance to HRHs should be consistent, as per the second principle of Rukunegara.

Patik patik sekelian hamba rakyat yang taat setia bernaung dibawah payung pemerintahan DYMM Tuanku merafak sembah mendoakan DYMM Tuanku sihat sejahtera.

Dirgahayu dan Daulat Tuanku
