Anwar: A compulsive liar or lousy ‘short seller’?

16 September 2008 finally came and actually went. Anwar “Drama King” Ibrahim promised that he would take over as Prime Minister of Malaysia. Over and over again, he etched on the promises that the Pakatan Rakyat would take over the Federal Government, behest very strong ground emotions and claimed ‘stirring’ democratic wave many would want to believe that is inadvertently, unstoppable. Again, last night, at a gathering not befitting the usual “Anwar crowd”, he stubbornly continued this promise.

However 16 September 2008 or 916 came and went as a completely non eventful day. In fact, it was almost ‘no brainer’. The build up preceding yesterday was only to be finished by a tasteless anti-climax!

Anwar again lied. Just like as always, he vehemently denied that his promise was not anything by a completely failure and would have a  continuing story, however unbelievable, to support his prolonged lie. This was anticipated by many who already were utterly convinced who and what Anwar was really about.

The pro-Anwar online news portal, Malaysiakini, has the story:

Anwar: We’ve more than 31 defectors

Chan Kok Leong | Sep 16, 08 2:40pm

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim said today he had signed up more than 31 defectors needed to form a new government and called on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi not to impose emergency rule to thwart a takeover

“We have a slight majority, it is in excess of 31,” he told a packed press conference held at 2pm in the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

Anwar, however, did not reveal the list of the lawmakers but had asked to meet with Abdullah to discuss a transition of power and was prepared to show him the list of defectors.

“We name them now and they get harassed immediately. So I’m telling you now that I will choose to confide in the prime minister.

“And if he wants the list I will show the list at the meeting. Until the right opportune moment, we can’t declare. We know how the system operates,” said Anwar.

Abdullah has rejected Anwar’s claims as “political lies” and ruled out resigning, but the opposition leader urged him to accept a peaceful handover.

The prime minister did not rule out a meeting earlier today, but his spokesman Kamal Khalid said it was unlikely.

“I doubt very much he will be meeting with Anwar,” he told AFP.

However, Abdullah said in his constitutency of Kepala Batas this afternoon that he would not entertain Anwar’s request to meet him until the list of defectors is made public.

Ministers are on the list too

Anwar urged the government not to arrest his new ministers under draconian Internal Security Act, or declare a state of emergency in an attempt to prevent him from seizing power.

His Pakatan Rakyat alliance – made up of the PKR, DAP and PAS – now holds 81 out of the 222 seats in Parliament. Its rival, the Barisan Nasional coalition led by Abdullah’s Umno party, currently has 140 seats.

To overthrow the Barisan, Pakatan would need another 31 MPs to join its camp for it to hit 112 seats, the minimum simple majority required.

Anwar also said that many BN MPs were keen to join him in forming a new government.

“It keeps increasing by the hour… seriously. I’m not joking. This morning, I received a signed note from another member. What do you want to know? You want to know if we have the numbers. We’ve the numbers!” he added.

He revealed that these included cabinet members and their deputies.

The 61-year old Anwar, who has been in talks with a number of disgruntled backbenchers, also said he wants Abdullah’s assurance the power transition could proceed smoothly.

Peaceful transition

Abdullah had last week shocked the nation by arresting three civilians under the ISA, which allows for detention without trial.

The move, which sparked widespread condemnation, was seen as a means to shore up his political standing within his Umno party and also as a warning to Anwar’s Pakatan.

“We want a peaceful transition. We hope that Barisan (Nasional) will not put up emergency rule to stop MPs from going to Parliament or arrest (government) MPs or stop them from joining Pakatan Rakyat,” he said.

“That’s why we have taken a very soft, conciliatory option. I am not making excuses. We have the numbers. We can and are prepared to move. If after a few days there is no response, Pakatan leaders will meet and see what is the next course of action.”

Pakatan leaders had yesterday sent a letter to Abdullah, requesting for a meeting.

“We give the PM time to consult and act responsibly as head of the country to heed the wishes of the people,” Anwar said.

“I believe he will meet and we will have to wait today or tomorrow. He is a politician under siege, so you can forgive him for sounding desperate.”

“We are looking at a matter of days (for a change in government),” he added.

“We’ve not given any ultimatum to Abdullah. We’ve said it is of national importance, it is incumbent and urgent for any sitting prime minister to respond positively in the interest of the nation and not just to appease the upheavals and turmoil within Umno,” said Anwar.

According to Malaysian law, the king has the right to accept and formalise any new government that can show proof of sufficient mandate in Parliament.

This means that Anwar can approach the monarch with proof that he has the support of enough MPs to be the new leader.

And Anwar said that his first option was to discuss the takeover with the prime minister before going to the king.

Alternatively, the king could order fresh general elections, provided the prime minister – either outgoing or incoming – recommends it.

Who are these so called “31 MPs”, who Anwar claimed ready to ‘jump ship’ and support him? Why aren’t these “31 MPs” throw support to him yet, today or anytime before and still live under the blanket of doubt? What is the purpose of the wait? List down these “31 MPs” now and make them open show their support for Anwar “Drama King” Ibrahim, who also in the dark underworld of homosexualism calls himself by the name of “Mat King Leather” when with his anal intercourse partner,

It is obvious that Anwar DID NOT HAVE these “31 MPs” at all. Otherwise, he would not wait a single moment to realize his dream of running the country as the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The last time he had the same dream, it was swiftly yanked out his nose in absolute humiliation.

Then, Anwar did not do a multiple repeated media conference to “announce his readiness to take over as PM and the rakyat was behind him” ten years ago, when actually near half of the nation almost bought into his stories of vile accusations being victimized by then Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and all the corruption, nepotism and cronyism stories embedded with the whole ‘Reformasi’ deal. Anwar brought upon the most intensive and massive street demonstration in an otherwise, a dormant country.

So, is Anwar Ibrahim actually a compulsive liar or simply a ‘short selling trader’?

XVIth century great English playwright William Shakespeare once said, “The bigger the lie is, the more people would believe in it”. Is his lie today, big enough? Or his constant lies ever since he launched this “take over the Premiership” campaign on the eve of 14 April 2008 to mark the “Black 14” in Kelab Sultan Sulaiman padang is not actually big enough?

Or Anwar is simply a mere ‘short selling trader’, who thrived on the market by ‘selling’ things he don’t actually own and thus rig the market, to his advantage? He tried to ‘short sell’ several UMNO MPs, using money to entice support. However, the Kuala Pilah MP and Deputy Minsiter rejected this near indescribable attempt of low class ‘political prostitution’.

All of these will only translate that bottom line, Anwar is someone who cannot be trusted. Even once his closest aides, abandoned him, for all the reasons we suspect about him. His own lawyer, Zainur Zakaria calls him “treacherous“. View what one time henchman Dato’ S. Nallakarupan has to say about his best friend.

Either which, level headed Malaysians should at this point be tired , if not angered of Anwar’s “Call my bluff” childish antics. Let us move on. Leave Anwar and his “angan angan Mat Jenin”. Pay no more attention to him. Anwar has a strong trait of being a ‘sickman’, most probably suffering from schizoprenia. Let us focus on who is more realistic to be the next Prime Minister, probably by the end of December and move this forward.

  1. Sir

Time will tell whether Anwar is the Emperor with no clothes and whether you are the little boy who shouts “But he has nothing on!”

Time? How much more time is that?

  3. THE 31 MP’s are FROM TAIWAN .

  4. Bro.
Its a matter of strategy. The stake is so high he must play his cards right. Give him a bit of time and InsyaAllah we will see result. We are already seeing people who stand to lose from the formation of the new government having sleepless nights worrying about their future and their ill gotten wealth. The PM seems to be the worst off yet trying to put a brave from. So too is his deputy. The body language says it all. It’s payback time bro.

  5. Anuar? Boleh Blahhh!

  6. He really got the numbers a 3-in-1, in that he’s indeed a compulsive liar, a short seller and a schizo, all in.

  7. “Wishes of the people”?

They voted in an UMNO politician didn’t they?

Crossovers are unethical and a betrayal of the people’s wishes.

  8. Crouching Anwari Hidden PMs,

    Bila tak jadi cakap strategi,

Tapi masih ramai yang tak sedar lagi,

    Dikelentong Nuar petang dan pagi,

I said cait poorah la tambi.

  9. Lets see how things go in the next few days.

Mahathir’s cronies would do well to have ready a standby ticket to Dubai, just in case…

    Good suggestion.

However we at BigDogDotCom feel that it is unnecessary. This is because, with Anwar Ibrahim’s track record being a compulsive liar, good enough to hedge our bets there.

  10. Now Pak Lah has trown the playing ball back to Anwar King Of Comedy Ibrahim by saying I will not meet you. Now let us watch the next comedian from him.

  11. i do not believe anwar has the required numbers. Yes, most raykat feels that a change is necessary and anwar is taking full advantage of this feeling. So while anwar may not be able to take over the government this time but it is highly possible that he may do so in the next GE.

13 GE is DEFINITELY NOT 16 September 2008! 13 GE is 4 1/2 years away. Anwar promised the take over on 16 September 2008…..

  12. Anuar pak temberang
    ramai matlayu berang
    modus operandi dah jelas sonsang
    Matlayu tak bangun lagi korang

    Habislah Malaysia kena jual……
    Kayak cina senang hati
    Matlayu buntut jadi kaki
    tolong bukak mata hati
    Supaya tak kana jual nanti.

  13. I respect him when he said he wanted to take over the government but doesn’t want to make it a chaotic event.
Doesn’t he done enough damage to the racial harmony that we have live in for the past 50 years? What kind of peaceful power transition he talking about?

What are man if he doesn’t live by it.

  14. Anuar tembelang busuk
    Ramai Matlayu jadi siok
    Katanya nikmat tapi sebetulnya pekong
    Matlayu tak boleh sokong

    Matlayu harap Matlayu sedar
    Matlayu jadi Matsegar
    Nampak tembelang Anuar
    Konon mesra dengan cina
    Jual bumiputra kata cinta semua
    akhirnya jadi hamba cina
    sudahlah ekonomi belum kemana
mahu kasi peluang untuk hilang semua

  15. Call a spade a spade we must.

Tough a legitimate govt has to be against those who stir up trouble with deceptive manupulation with a vengence for a destructive strike.

Heed Raja Dr Nazrin’s call – productivity must be enhanced, investors assured, new jobs estblished and the supply of necessities guaranteed. The country needed leaders who could take on the challenge and focus their minds and efforts on “productive work” in view of a weak global economy.

Those who weaken our economy by causing more uncertainty are the enemies of rakyat Malaysia.

  16. Malays! wakeup!
If Singapore news sing to the tune of Anwar, You got to realise the problem with this man.

  17. Jangan keluar mulut buaya masuk mulut naga!

  18. If Anwar has to seek Pak Lah’s “permission” to take over the government, then he is no leader.
    Nuff Said.

Not because they attack the Malays might, but using the disgruntle Malays as the catalyst to weakened the Malays. This people who sow lies and hate finally bring the downfall and one day they woke up they find they not only destroy their destiny but also lost the country. This Malays can be so stupid and easily manipulated. When will they learn…..

  22. Melayu bukak mata kamu.

  23. Kalo eden ditawar wang untuk lompat, apa nak tunggu lagi? PR pun dah restu cara ni…kalo perhatikan DAP, ternganga duk mengharap, PAS pun nyata tunggu dengan penuh RESTU.
