Pathologists visit the site as DAP play more theaterics

The pathologists from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, Petaling Jaya and Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang spent two hours at Plaza Masalam in their investigations to the highly charged ‘sudden death’ of DAP Political Secretary Teoh Beng Hock, which was found dead on Thursday. Despite the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan’s statement after briefing the Prime Minister yesterday that 60% of the expected investigations have been completed, the Police are still very active on the case.

On the other hand, the DAP are still on their usual theaterics in politicizing the case.

Pathologists revisit Plaza Masalam (Update)

SHAH ALAM: Pathologists have revisited Plaza Masalam where political secretary Teoh Beng Hock was found dead.

The pathologists, Dr Prashant Samberkar from the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and Dr Khairul Azman from Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Rahimah in Klang, spent about two hours there.

The locations that they went to on Wednesday included the 14th floor where the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office is located, the fifth floor where Teoh’s body was found and the parking area on the ground floor.

“The visit today was to allow the pathologists to gather more information before they can submit their findings,” DSP Kamarudin Ismail, Shah Alam police headquarters investigating officer told reporters after the visit.

Teoh, 30, was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam last Thursday after giving his statement to the Selangor MACC.

He was Selangor executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah’s political secretary.

Meanwhile in Kuala Lumpur, businessman Tan Boon Wah has filed an application against the MACC questioning its interrogation procedures.

The Kajang Municipal councillor and DAP member filed the application through his lawyer Karpal Singh at the Kuala Lumpur High Court registry here on Wednesday morning.

He is seeking a declaration from the court to interpret the phrase “day-to-day” over the questioning of witnesses, especially when it comes to overnight questioning.

Tan himself was quizzed by the MACC in its investigation over the alleged abuse of constituency funds by Selangor elected representatives. He is believed to be the last person to have seen political aide Teoh Beng Hock alive.

Teoh, political secretary to Sri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah, was found dead near the MACC office after he had endured a marathon interrogation session lasting from the afternoon of July 15 into the wee hours of the morning of July 16.

Tan later lodged a police report.

The Oppositions, especially the DAP have been known to capitalize every single opportunity to belittle, of not demonize the enforcement agencies, especially the Police and MACC. Their non challant attitude in facilitating in the investigations is appalling. Hence, the progress of the investigations could be impaired because of these explicitly induced ‘hiccups’. And yet, they politicize the case in highly charged and racially insinuated demand of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI).

Any commission of inquiry should not be rushed or hastily set up. DAP has a history to do this. Case in point is the highly controversial ‘nude-ear-squat’ episode end of 2005, as being put up in Parliament by DAP Seputeh MP Theresa Kok, claiming the lady is question is a Chinese national. Even DAP Jurassic Leader Lim Kit Siang then was adamant that the lady is a Chinese national. The hasty pressure to set up an independent inquiry resulted in sending then Home Minsiter Dato’ Azmi Khalid to China to apologize.

Later when it was proven that the lady is neither Chinese national nor of Chinese ethnicity but in fact a Malay woman, DAP suddenly stopped pursuing on the issue. Niether did they apologize for misleading the nation to a point that it almost created a diplomatic issue.

On the same note, former abuse-of-power convict Anwar “Drama King” Ibrahim, is on his usual theaterics deploying every single legal avenue to disrupt the criminal proceeding of sodomy against him. This the second time the partlyess Opposition Leader is being accused and charged in court for sodomy. He got an acquittal at the Federal Court for technical reasons.

Lessons should be learnt from the past. The Police should be allowed ample time, space and opportunity to complete the investigations for Teoh Beng Hock’s ‘sudden death’.
