Another one bites the dust. How about the other one?

Ir Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman, CEO PMBK and Son-in-Law to MB Kelantan and PAS Murshidul Am Dato Nik Aziz Nik Mat

MB Kelantan Dato’ Nik Aziz Nik Mat announced the resignation of PMBK CEO Ir Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman.  The resignation came in a heated controversy after the MACC started to ‘pay visits’ to PMBK after the ‘irregularities’ were first highlighted by us here at BigDogDotCom.

Kelantan Menteri Besar’s son-in-law to resign as PMBK CEO

 2009-11-23 17:47

KOTA BAHARU, Nov 23 (Bernama) — Kelantan Menteri Besar Incorporated chief executive officer Abdul Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman has been ordered to relinquish the post today.

Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said the decision to call for his son-in-law’s resignation was made on the advice of the PAS central leaders.

The PAS leaders, who included party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din, vice-president Sallahuddin Ayub and treasurer Dr Hatta Ramli had a meeting, which lasted for about an hour with Nik Abdul Aziz, at the Kelantan Menteri Besar’s official residence, JKR 10, here earlier today.

“All of them advised me to safeguard the good name of Islam and PAS. Their advice is for my son-in-law to relinquish the post.

“When I appointed him before, the (state) legal officer did not say anything. So I appoint him,” Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also PAS spiritual leader, told a news conference after the meeting.

The issue involving Abdul Ariffahmi surfaced after officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) raided the PBMK office to investigate allegations of cronyism and power abuse over his appointment by the Menteri Besar.

Meanwhile, Ariffahmi, who was also present at the news conference, said he accepted the decision and would tender his resignation.

*******************

The resignation should not impair the investigations, already started by MACC. If there is any ‘irregularities’ of PMBK’s operations, then it should be uncovered thoroughly and the book thrown at the perpetrators. It is only Islamic to do so.

The investigations should also include the acceptance Nik Aziz of performing Hajj at RM 65,000 per person. Despite he cancelled last minute, the fact that he accepted and made confirmation should be regarded as a ‘corrupt practice’ as he is the Chairman of PMBK and the generous contributor is a contractor to PMBK.

For the record, Ariffahmi is the son-in-law of Nik Aziz.

Nik Aziz should be thoroughly investigated. As a PAS Spiritual Leader, the moment there is a shred of evidence that in the capacity  of MB Kelantana and PMBK Chairman there are corrupt practices, then he must resign. It is only Islamic to do so. After all, he is living up to his “Membangun bersama PAS” slogan. It would be anti-development for PAS to continue allowing leaders who are ‘unclean’ sitting in position of power. Otherwise, they would be regarded as ‘hypocrites’ and the world shall look down on Muslims as PAS carry the aura of a “Islamic party”.

  1. he thinks he can simply bury this corruption things off by the resignation letter? ha ha ha

i think you shouldn’t answer anything on Datuk Mukhriz until it becomes official. Reason being, somebody will definitely would like to take advantage of your answer. be wise, bro.

  3. cara Nik Ajis bercakap ni macam dia ni suci dari segala kesalahan.

Menantu disuruh letak jawatan pun, dikatakan kerana DI NASIHAT oleh pemimpin PAS lain. (maknanya, bukan saya yg suruh dia letak jawatan, org lain yg bagi nasihat suruh letak jawatan)

Masa melantik anak menantu ke jawatanpun, nampaknya macam salahnya diletak atas bahu legal officer kerana kawan tu tak kata apa-apa pun bila nak dilantik dulu. (maknanya, saya lantiklah sebab awak tak halang saya lantik. Kalau dia mencemari PAS, pasai apa awak tak halang saya dulu sewaktu nak melantik?)

    Apa-apa lah Nik Ajis.

    • I agree..semua salah orang lain dan semua orang tak betul…For once, i wanna see him admits that he made a mistake! Take the responsibility boleh tak? Sucinya, mengalahkan para ambiya!

He should resign! There are laws against people like this, don’t we? The fact that he admitted that he accept the sponsorship tu pun dah salah, in his post as MB yg akan ada conflict of interest especially kalau orang tu dapat contract…

I’m baffled why suddenly orang2 PR boleh accept Ariffahmi when he was appointed dulu when they went super gaga over KJ and Pak Lah…Is it because its Nik Aziz, a supreme ulamak and umarak, so it makes it right?

I just wish ada ulamak2 yang diam membisu selama ni, ask these ulamak wannabes to stop using hadith dan ayat quran so that they can justify their politics!

  4. Given the spate of corruption among BN leaders with little action taken to charge them,PAS and PR will be getting precious political points should Nik Aziz do get charged in court. Its most unwise of MACC to charge Nik Aziz if BN thinks that it will put a big dent on the opposition. The move will backfire.

    • SPRM will be stupid not to just because its nik aziz!

      • I agree with you.

“SPRM will be stupid not to just because its nik aziz!”

Or any body else for that matter.

        SPRM, Just do it!

  5. Waaaa. Pakatan is in real pain now.

Everyone is sneezing. Every old man is wheezing. Every somebody is dropping out. Every wheeze-kid is unfolding each others’ jack-in-the-box. Every vampire-cult is uncovering every neighbor’s skeleton from everybody’s cupboards.

Soon the rakyats will find confirmation that the Pakatan ship was never a worthy alternative.

  6. The time is never more opportune for Nik Aziz to retire from politics for the greater cause of Islam before the “SHIT” falls onto him; he’s already too senile to see the trees from the forest having been played inside out by the traitors of the Malays. It must be most damning for such a high profile spiritual adviser to relent after being advised by the Party’s leadership. Nik Aziz has demonstrated that he can no longer be an exemplary to an idealist party and his advising role has brought more shame and sham to the Muslims.

  7. “When I appointed him before, the (state) legal officer did not say anything. So I appoint him” –

Guano Tok Guru? Nak maroh Legal Adviser pulok?

He doesn’t understand that this was a sensitive issue and the Legal Adviser was well-advised not to advise until asked to.

The Tok Guru (if indeed he can justifiably be called one) should know that appointing a SIL is a sensitive issue and should have asked for advice.

But he was under the archaic belief that the actions of Nabi Muhammad in appointing relatives to positions of authority 1,400 years ago can be applied to his case. He’d probably invoke the Hadith or formulate his own “fatwa”. He didn’t even realise that in Malaysia, including the state of Kelantan, corruption is under civil laws.

He should indeed resign. Apart from ignorance of the law, senility has crept on him. He cannot govern any more. The people and the state will continue to suffer.

  8. The SIL should also be censored. In more ways than one. He should not be given any public positions of responsibility. Let him just do engineering designs. Even that, watch his sense of judgment.

How can? He is an Engineer for crying out loud. He is better educated than the Tok Guru. He should be the one advising the FIL not to entertain any thoughts of putting the SIL into that post. Or did the SIL lobby the FIL for the post? Like Pak Lah and the SIL, damn these fellows.

If the Tok Guru doesn’t resign, the MACC should investigate him and prosecute him. His public admission of accepting the RM65,000 pilgrimage package for him (and allegedly for his family members as well) from a state government contractor is clear enough basis to prosecute him. Impose a sentence on him that would disqualify him from holding public office.

SIL dia tu, sesiapa hendak ambil dia berkerja, berhati-hatilah.
Dia pun nampak vicious – tak lama salepas pegang jawatan CEO, pecahkan periok nasi orang – tamatkan jawatan Pegawai Perhubungan Awam Kickdefella. Tidak nampak alasan yang kukuh.

  10. when a pas leader made a mistake , he will amake amend
asap. Can we expect our gomen leaders to do the same?

BN gomen have this syndrome ingrained in the system . Let us see what had been carried out in the past=

    1. G appointed JJ[ aka Mr Raba Raba ] as ambassador
to the country with the most extensive spy network in the world. Does one think that the the Preseident is
not kept aware of that fact and other related scandals?

    2. When custom officers caught a malacca MP
importing timbers in breach of the import regulations, what did he utter in Parliament?
    Close one eye -lah.

3.When Jakim send 35 Police operatives to arrest
the ex Mufti of Perlis while giving a kuliah at a
private house , how did the gomen respond though
the use of police was excessive even if there are
enactments that prohibit such an act [of Dr Asri]

A few mumblings here [by PM] and ex PM {TDM} but no
apologies or corrective measures were taken

Hence , the gomen must emulate pas on its action
for it to be credible. We ask chin peng to apologise
but we never ask the gomen to apologise for its
    wrong actions!

    • You wrote, “when a pas leader made a mistake , he will amake amend asap”.

      So what? Jujur ke?

Remember when he was caught, he blamed others around him!

He said it was not his fault.

The other fellows let him do it!!!

It sound like a five year old explaining to his mother.

      mohamed

    • hanana,

      1. Is he not the gomen in Kelantan?

      2. His is the most serious mistake of all – menyumpah parti Melayu, sebantal dengan kafirun, merancang, menyokong langkah-langkah kafirun melemahkan dan mahu menjatuhkan Melayu.

      3. Banyak gomen buat salah. Tengoklah gomen Selangor. Exco PAS sendiri pun tak tahan. Tapi kesalahan Nik Aziz melemahkan Melayu sudah melampau.

  11. “When I appointed him before, the (state) legal officer did not say anything. So I appoint him,” Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also PAS spiritual leader, told a news conference after the meeting.

    hahahahahahahahaha.

    salah legal officer.

  12. […] the self proclaimed Islamist party. MB ‘Flip-Flop’ Nik Aziz made the announcement of ‘advising’ his son-in-law to resign from the PMBK top job right after PAS Leadership which include party President Dato’ Hadi Awang made a call on the […]
