Tun Dr. Mahathir discharged from Epworth Hospital

YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad has been discharged form the Epworth Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, as at 12 noon (Melbourne) today, Oct 5, 2010.

The medical team is happy with YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir’s rate of progress but he will still be placed under observation for an unspecified period.

Throughout this period, the medical team will continue to administer antibiotics treatment and physiotherapy as they had been doing since his admission last Saturday (Oct 2, 2010) for chest infection.

The discharge from the hospital today to a nearby hotel is also part of the rehabilitation process to speed up Tun Dr Mahathir’s rate of recovery.

He is in Melbourne, accompanied by YABhg Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali since since Thursday and had been expected to address a seminar on human development last Saturday afternoon, organised by the UMNO Club of Melbourne.

  1. Biggie,

Thanks for bringing us the updates. Your blog is by far the most updated info on Tun.

Thank God for the good news.

Discharge means that he is alright. For a man of his age, being discharged after three days of hospitalisation for chest infection is very fast.

Allah will bless Tun Dr Mahathir with many more of productive years. So much still needed to be done. The various instability & uncertainties that looms Malaysia is enough to show that he is still very much needed.

  2. Sometimes the pangs of guilt weighs heavy whenever Tun falls sick. He had wanted to retire much earlier but extended his PMship as the time was not suitable.

So when he really retired, we all watched with deep sadness and a sense of loss as well as anxiety in the air, coming in thick and fast.

I actually cried watching him announce his retirement. The wisest and the most caring PM was retiring.

Hey Tun, we kneel and pray for your forgiveness in demanding more from you.

Although perjuangan masih belum selesai, you have done your UTMOST for Malaysia and Malaysians.

The rakyat will forever be indebted to you.
