Katsav convicted, how about our VVIPs?

Moshe Katsav

Former Israeli President Moshe Katsav was found guilty for rape charges by Tel Aviv District Court and convicted. He faces a jail sentence between 4 to 16 years for this despicable crime.

Haaretz has the story:

‘Katsav lied, manipulated and withheld information’

Tel Aviv court judges say former president’s defense was riddled with lies all along, used edited tapes, prepared testimonies; Katsav found guilty of two counts of rape and other abuses.

By Ofra EdelmanTags: Israel news

Former President Moshe Katsav’s defense was riddled with lies, according to a court ruling by the judges of the Tel Aviv District Court  on Thursday, who found Katsav guilty of rape and sexual abuse.

Katsav was convicted of raping and sexually assaulting A., a former employee at the Tourism Ministry. He was also convicted of sexually harassing H. from the President’s Residence, of sexually abusing and harassing L. from the President’s Residence and of obstruction of justice.

According to the court verdict, the judges found that Katsav used edited tapes, partial transcripts, unrealistic datebooks, unfounded statements, and prepared testimonies as part of his court defense.

The judges also found that his testimony was “riddled with lies” and that all along, Katsav  “excelled in manipulation and withholding information.”

One of the more serious problems in Katsav’s defense was that he presented the court with edited tapes, which manipulated documented conversations between A. and Katsav’s insider, Uri Yoeli, about the possibility of A. returning to work for Katsav.

The tapes were presented by the defense as evidence that A. was intending to return to work for Katsav after the date of the claimed rape and that for this reason it would not have been probable that A. was actually raped by Katsav.

The judges wrote in the verdict that in the disc of the recordings, “there are only seven conversations, which were taken out of context, and anyone who listens to them can understand that we are dealing with a work of ‘editing and revising’.”

They added that during Katsav’s previous hearing at the attorney’s office, his lawyers only presented a printed transcript of the recordings, in a way that the prosecution could not know that they were only a small part of a long line of conversations which underwent heavy editing and revision.

The judges listed many instances where Katsav lied in order to better his defense. Several examples noted by the judges were that Katsav claimed he fired A. during the Likud primaries when later it was found out he fired her afterwards, as well as Katsav lying to the court regarding attending a particular meeting and then being forced to admit otherwise when it was mentioned in a document presented to the court.

The judges wrote that Katsav reached an ultimate low when he used his late father’s memorial ceremony, which A. also attended, for his defense by lying and saying that the ceremony took place in May in order to show that it would not have made sense that A. was raped in April and then came to his father’s memorial a month afterwards.

****************

That is very decisive on the Israelis against their own leader. Especially when Katsav was said to have lied. The rape victim was his own employee.

So how about our VVIPs?

Opposition Leader Anwar “Mat King Leather” Ibrahim is being charged in a Kuala Lumpur Criminal Court of sodomising his aide Mohd. Saiful Bukhari Azlan. Not only he broke the law of having an anal sexual intercourse, he also should be charged for sexual harassment for getting his subordinate to do sexual acts with him.

So far, despite the case had been on trial since 2009, not much progress have been recorded. This is because the accused defense team already succeeded to delay the case 23 times. Malaysians are already impatient to see the outcome of the case which already saw the defense team requested the trial judge to recuse himself from hearing the case, twice. The victim’s father Azlan Mohd. Lazim resorted to request from His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong to intervene and case be expedited.

As they say, “Just delayed is justice denied”.

Then there is this recent bloggosphere sensation of “A VVIP raping his maid in 2007”. That warrants a thorough investigation too. If the member of  His Majesty’s Government is guilty, then he should face the music and subjected through the due process to the limit of the law. Otherwise, his good name should be emancipated from being tarnished with false report made by an NGO.

We have the Federation of Malaysia Constitution. We practice the concept of ‘Rule of Law’. Its time the law prevails on VVIPs, for the sake of the rakyat.

Please investigate this report thoroughly

Mid last week, Rocky’s Bru carried a story about a “VVIP raping his maid”. It sparked one of the most sensational controversies in the bloggosphere for 2010. Fellow right-wing bloggers jumped into the fray of discussing these allegations.

Then we received this report about a woman name “Robengah”.

Robengah Report I

Robengah Report II

Robengah Report III

We cannot be certain these allegations were true. However, it is about a VVIP somewhere in the pedestal of His Majesty’s Government.

We hope an investigation will be carried out. His Majesty’s Government could not afford such scandal. It is politically and diplomatically catastrophic. Malaysia maintained excellent bi-lateral relations with Indonesia and it is a great shame if a VVIP also ‘abuse’ his maid, just like previously highlighted and even convicted maid-abuse cases.

The alleged person must be exonerated if he is innocent. However if he is guilty, then he should face the music.

We vehemently disagree about the penile limb of a man. It is about the attitude and ‘animal-like behaviour’. Millions of Malaysian heads-of-the-family employ female domestic helps to sort out the affairs in the household. So few of them ‘impose’ themselves onto these domestic helps. So if a VVIP is or had been doing this also at some point of time, then it is extremely unacceptable. Just like when a Deputy Prime Minister was sacked on 2 September 1998.

The ruling party which have enjoyed the mandate and trust of the rakyat and confidence of His Majesties since the Federal Constitution came into force must do the right thing again, if these allegations were true.

Kua Kia Soong: A traitor?

Kua's most recent book

Former DAP Petaling Jaya Utara MP Dr Kua Kia Soong recently launched his book “Questioning Arms Spending in Malaysia”. The book launch, was made in London on 14 December in Melur Restaurant, Edgware Road.

Isn’t this an act of treachery?

Kua Kia Soong

Dr Kua, who is currently the SUARAM Executive Director and DAP member definitely has other means to question the arms spending of the Federal Government. There is this forum called Dewan Rakyat where no less 78 Pakatan Rakyat MPs (which his party DAP is part of the tri-party-marriage-of-(in)convenience-between-backstabbing-strange-bedfellows) and Dewan Negara where they have 8 Senators.

If questions are being posted in the august house, then the Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Finance are compelled to answer. Of course there would be a debate. Dr Kua could get his DAP colleagues to attack what or which ever spending with facts and demand answers.

Writing a book and launching it abroad serves a different connotation entirely. It is a one sided attack. It is suspiciously with an intent of malice, especially taking the details or presumed details of Malaysian militarium in the open and on an international platform. This is an act of anarchy. No difference from when PKR Lembah Pantai Nurul Izzah lied in Jakarta about the Scorpene Perdana Class subs inability to be operational.

Dr Kua is the sort of scholar who choses to be deliberate inaccuracies, unsubstantiated facts, lop sided foreign mission/agency reports and is very unfair and bordering an ill intent with his presentation and analysis. Last June blogger Jebat Must Die did an in depth analysis and counter Dr Kua’s lame and politically-skewed book with facts on 13 May 1969. A leading Military Analyst Dzirhan Mahadzir took the first salvo against Dr Kua on this.

Excerpts from Dzrihan’s analysis on Dr Kua’s new attempt to skew facts:

Now I have no problem with defence spending being scrutinized or criticised, but my problem is when the matter becomes politicised, distorted and used by people to fulfill their own agendas or when people doing such don’t know what they are talking about or when they deliberately used racial issues which is the entire problem with Dr. Kua’s book.

The first flaw in the book is the manner of citations used, there’s an inconsistancy in Dr. Kua’s approach, he gives name credits to articles by writers like my old boss Bob Karniol, who recruited me into Janes and a few others but the numerous times he cites articles in Janes and Defence Review Asia (mostly mine) and the mainstream media articles in NST, Star and others, he can’t see fit to name the authors and title of the articles. Now the reason for this is important as knowing who wrote the article, so we can judge the accuracy and quality as not all writers are the same, and the context of the quotation based on the article title. The other problem is just on a personal basis as Dr Kua quotes my JDW focus on the Malaysian Armed Forces several times but it doesn’t rate a mention in the selected articles list in the bibliography, wherelse articles he quotes once or twice does which again falls foul of normal conventions in such, like I said I get no credit ;).

The other flaw in the book is that in all honest sense, the supposedly well researched book has no original information, as pointed by both Marhalim and Azra, all the book does is quote materials published publicly, even then Dr. Kua doesn’t bother finding out additional information or digging out new information. The so called expose is a lie as nothing contained in the book hasn’t been talked about. Furthermore if it really is to be an expose, why did Dr. Kua not find people willing to talk, even anonymously about the alledged wrongdoings etc. If the publishers and writer had been honest enough to state that the book simply was based on open sources and a compilation, I’d have been less critical but as it is…..

*************

(Note: Dzirhan teaches at the Armed Forces College and writes for Jane’s Defense Weekly)

The authorities should really look into this attempt of Dr Kua to undermine the strategic and operational interest of the Malaysian Armed Forces. This sort of person is definitely belong to be labeled as ‘Disobedient and Ungrateful Malaysian’.

Sime Management 101: Make them accountable

Sime Darby Bhd. which has been in bad light since the mega accumulated loss of RM 1.7 billion from the scandals of projects, particularly in the Gulf States, decided to go one step ahead. Not only they sacked the executives who are responsible to manage these miserably failed projects and some were even handed to authorities for a more detail investigation and eventually prosecution, Sime Darby is now making them pay for their sins.

This morning’s Business Times:

Sime sues ex-CEO, 4 others

Published: 2010/12/24
Share

Sime Darby is claiming at least RM338 million from the five over their alleged roles in the RM1.7 billion losses suffered by its energy and utilities division this year.

Conglomerate Sime Darby Bhd has sued its former group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid and four senior executives over their alleged roles in the massive RM1.7 billion losses suffered by its energy and utilities (E&U) division this year.

The executives, all under the E&U division, are former Sime Darby Energy Sdn Bhd vice president Datuk Mohd Shukri Baharom, chief financial officer Abdul Rahim Ismail, head of oil and gas Abdul Kadir Alias and senior general manager of Sime Darby Engineering, Mohd Zaki Othman.

“They are being sued for breaches of duties owed to the Sime Darby Group.

“The Sime Darby Group is claiming from the defendants, inter alia, restitution for monies wrongfully paid out, damages for losses suffered, loss of profit, aggravated damages and costs,” it said in a statement yesterday.

Zubir and the other executives could not be reached for comment.

Sime is claiming at least RM338 million from the five, with almost half of that from Zubir and Shukri. It is also seeking damages for losses caused by them in three projects and any aggravated or exemplary damages.

Specifically, the suit deals with three projects, namely the Bulhanine and Maydan Mahzam project with Qatar Petroleum, the Maersk Oil Qatar project and building of marine vessels for the Maersk Oil Qatar project.

The suit was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday.

Sime recorded RM1.7 billion in cost overruns for the three projects and the Bakun hydroelectric dam project earlier this year, causing it to allocate a RM2.1 billion provision.

As a result, the government-linked company in July established an investigative reports review committee, carried out a forensic audit and appointed legal advisers.

Zubir was asked to take a leave of absence in May and the following month, Datuk Mohd Bakke Mohd Salleh was named acting president and group CEO.

The extra costs led Sime to post losses in the third quarter to March 2010, its first quarterly loss since its mega merger with state-owned Golden Hope Plantations Bhd and Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd in December 2007.

Losses dragged on to the fourth quarter ending in June 2010 but Sime continued to be profitable for the full year and has bounced back with a first-quarter profit for fiscal 2011.

*****************

This is an unprecedented move by a plc to ensure that not only their executives are made accountable and responsible to manage the resources that were entrusted upon them by the investors, they are now liable for their mismanagement. Especially if their mismanagement has a tinge of criminal intent, of which should be a good deterrent for the temptations of corrupt practices amongst corporate leaders.

Sime Darby already got three of the Board of Directors who are supposed to be responsible and held fiduciary duties for these losses to go at last month’s AGM. Deputy Chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid, Director-in-charge-of-SDE Tan Sri Dr. Tajudin Ali and former Sime UEP MD who has been appointed to the BOD Dato’ Mohamed Sulaiman were ‘retired’.

Other BOD members who volunteered to leave were Former PWC Executive Chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Dato’ Dr Abdul Halim Ismail, Dato’ Paduka Zaitoon Osman and Ariffin Siregar.

We reckoned that the retirement of these three plus four others were not enough. Sime Darby owe it to the public, especially Malaysians. Their highly illustrious BOD should have been more vigilant and ‘getting wiser after the event’ is not acceptable, considering the experience, systems and controls and tradition of a conglomerate of several plcs wich serve as pillars of Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (many regard this as the simplistic ‘barometer’ for the economic health of the nation).

One personality was spared: Chairman of the Group Tun Musa Hitam. He should also leave. It is a matter of principle. Of course one should also take into account that he explicitly did not consider to promote sacked-with-shame Former President and Group CEO Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid’s successor from someone within, probably because of ‘ego and personality clashes’. If so, it is ashame because there are streams of very experienced and proven talents within was denied when the CEO was brought in from outside the conglomerate of 100,000 employees.

Until today, Sime Darby has not made public of its ‘Forensic Audit’. Earlier Sime Darby announced that the excuse was they wanted “To recover these or part of these losses” as a move to give comfort to the stakeholders, especially the investors where more than 7 million Malays and Bumiputras have their life savings locked under PNB’s ASB and ASN schemes. For the rest of Malaysians, they have part of the EPF locked in the form investment as well.

Officially, Sime Darby kept mum about the ‘Forensic Audit’. It was thought that they were going after the JV partners, consultants, contractors and suppliers to ‘recover’ these losses. It is believed also that all the material evidence would be mitigated when they go after the said parties. If eventually they do, it should be a lengthy legal process and circus stunts expected.

It is practically doubtful that Sime Darby is able to recover all or most of the RM 338 million claim  from these five former executives. The ‘Statement of Claims’ is a ravishing read; Part 1 and Part 2. However, the positive and favourable outcome of this case would serve a stern warning for errant executives or those entrusted as stewards but instead having personal agenda to be realised by ill-intent. In the words of Sime Darby’s own, “It is a matter of principle”.

A few things learnt from this episode. Make the executives pay for their sins, look for talents from outside because of an ego and allow the ‘Statesman’ to remain, especially after he was said to have “Mellowed down and learnt a valuable lesson”. That is from now on should be known as ‘Sime Management 101’ and should be a compulsory subject to all second year business courses.

Tun Ibrahim Ismail:The last of the Malay Force 136

Tun Ibrahim Ismail: A Malay Warrior of the 20th Century

Former Armed Forces Chief Jen (B) Tun Ibrahim Ismail, 88, passed away at the Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital early this morning.  A true warrior, Ibrahim would be interned today at the Warriors’ Tomb, National Mosque after Asar prayers.

Johor born Ibrahim as a cadet officer meant for the Johor Military Force was actually commissioned into the Indian Army after passing out from the illustrious Dehra Dun Military Academy, soon after Japanese Imperial Army invaded Malaya. Together with him then another cadet officer Hussein b. Onn, who is the son of the Johor Menteri Besar.

He was then recruited into the elite Force 136 for the liberation of Malaya, from India. Amongst his contemporaries were names like Captain Abdul Razak Hussein (later became 2nd Malaysian Prime Minister), Captain Hussein Onn (later became 3rd Prime Minister), Mohamad Ghazali Shafie (later became Chief Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Home Affairs) and Major Yeop Mahidin Mohamed Shariff (later became an exemplary anti Communist warrior), who was the Commanding Officer. They formed the Wataniah.

Force 136 Wataniah: Ctr row: Ibrahim Ismail (3rd fr. left), Yeop Mahidin (3rd fr. right), Abdul Razak Hussein (far right)

After the World War II, he also served Johor Military Force before joining Royal Malay Regiment. He was one of the earliest Malay officers to rose into the rank of Battalion Commander, which was 6 Royal Malay Regiment. His past experience as an officer serving the Force 136 was proven a valuable asset in combating the communist terrorists’ rebellion. During the Konfrotasi with Indonesia soon after the formation of Federation of Malaysia, Ibrahim displayed great military leadership as a brigade commander.

Ibrahim's brief profile when he was a Brigadier

One of his remarkable service to the nation was to be part of the National Operation Council (NOC) upon the suspension of the Parliament as a result of the bloody racial riots of 13 May 1969. That was after he was appointed the Chief Executive of the NOC serving directly under then Deputy Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, to restore order during the days where curfew was imposed. He retired in 1977 with the rank of a full general as the Chief of Defense Forces for seven years.

NOC: Fr. left; Ibrahim Ismail, IGP Dato' Salleh Ismail, Tan Sri Ghazali Shafie, Tun V.T. Sambanthan, Tun Dr. Ismail Abd. Rahman & Tun Abdul Razak Hussein (Not in picture Tun Tan Siew Sin, Tan Sri Hamzah Abu Samah, Left. Jen. (B) Tunku Osman Jewa, Abdul Kadir Shamsuddin)

During his tenure as Chief of Defense Forces, he was under termendous pressure of the communist activities and reign of terror around the region. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos fell into communist hands. This escalated the issue of ‘Boat People’ where the influx of Vietnamese refugees were at the epitome bordering to exodus. The Japanese Red Army attacked the US and Swedish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and became a hostage situation for a few days in August 1975.

Ibrahim was the first Military Officer to be awarded the Darjah Seri Setia Makhota Malaysia (SSM) that carry the title ‘Tun’ at His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda yang DiPertuan Agong’s birthday honours investiture in 2000.

A comprehensive obituary of Jen (B) Tun Ibrahim Ismail by Utusan Malaysia:

Ibrahim pahlawan sejati

Oleh ROHANA MAN
rohana.man@utusan.com.my

Retracing the reminiscence of Malay in the Republic

We were at Tanjung Pagar Keretapi Tanah Melayu station. It was first opened in 1932, during the reign of Sultan Johor HRH Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar. The rail service was made available from Tanah Melayu into Singapura becuase of the construction of the Johor Causeway, completed in 1923 after four years of building works.

We just want to share these photos:

The signage written in Malay, along the West Coast Highway

The proud letterings "F.M.S.R" stands for Federated Malay States Railway

The stucco front

The foyer

The gateway to Federation of Malaysia: The Immigration Gate at Tanjung Pagar KTM Railway Station platform

Soon to go, the platform of the KTM in Singapore soil

The murals in the great lobby. Note the letters "F.M.S.R" which stands for Federated Malay States Railway and the cresent

The ticketing booth

In a deal struck with the Singapore Government slightly over six months ago, all these KTMB properties would be returned back to Singapore. The rail service from Johor Bahru to Singapore would cease by 30 June 2011.

Pot calling the kettle black

The pathetic Drama King: Mat King Leather

Today, Speaker of Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Paduka Amin Mulia who is the de facto authority representing His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong ordered the suspension of Party-Positionless-Opposition Leader Anwar “Mat King Leather” Ibrahim. Three other Pakatan Rakyat buffoons were also ordered out of the august house.

The Star reported this from Dewan Rakyat:

Anwar, three Pakatan MPs, suspended for six months (Update)

By LEE YUK PENG and TEH ENG HOCK

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was suspended from Parliament over the Apco issue, while the motion to cite Pakatan Rakyat MPs Karpal Singh, R. Sivarasa and Azmin Ali for contempt was also passed.

All four were suspended for six months.

Earlier, Opposition MPs staged a walk-out when Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz began to read a second motion to cite three MPs for contempt.

Amidst shouts, the first motion to suspend Anwar was pronounced passed without debate.

Karpal (DAP-Bukit Gelugor) said they would take case to court.

“There’s a precedent in the case of Gobind Singh (Deo). It’s so blatant that it cannot be defended,” he said.

Earlier Thursday, pandemonium ruled on the morning of Parliament’s last session for the year as Opposition MPs protested loudly against the motion to suspend four Opposition leaders.

At Thursday, Nazri began to read the motion, amidst shouts and protests from Opposition MPs.

Some remained standing, displaying placards, while backbenchers responded by thumping on their tables to drown shouts of “Apco”.

The motion called for the suspension of Karpal, Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) and Azmin (PKR-Gombak) for contempt, and Anwar, following a motion by the Rights and Privileges Committee recommended the PKR adviser be suspended for six months for having linked the 1Malaysia concept and international consulting firm Apco Worldwide engaged by the government with the “One Israel” campaign.

Karpal and Sivarasa are alleged to have violated Standing Order 85 pertaining to the fact that information and documents adduced before a select committee cannot be made public by anyone before the committee reports to the house.

The motion also stated that Azmin, via a notice dated Dec 6 under Standing Order 18(1), had referred to the information and documents adduced during the Dec 3 meeting of the committee.

This what the foreign wires reported on at today’s circus:

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar suspended from parliament

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and three of his allies were suspended from parliament for six months on Thursday in votes that triggered pandemonium and an opposition walkout.

Anwar, who is also facing trial on sodomy charges that he says are a political conspiracy, was this week found guilty of misleading members in a row over a national unity slogan.

He had criticised the government’s “One Malaysia” slogan aimed at uniting the multiracial nation, which he said had been copied from the “One Israel” political alliance of former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak in 1999.

The charge is highly sensitive in Muslim-majority Malaysia, which has no diplomatic relations with Israel and is a supporter of a Palestinian state.

The government on Wednesday cited three senior opposition MPs for contempt for criticising the parliamentary disciplinary probe against Anwar, and demanded that they also serve six-month suspensions.

“It’s so clear, it’s blatantly biased,” Anwar said after the suspension votes against the four were carried in parliament, where the ruling coalition has a clear majority. “It’s a mockery of the entire proceedings.”

The votes were held after chaotic scenes in the house where debate was drowned out by a half-hour shouting match, and opposition lawmakers unfurled placards reading “Save the Parliament”.

They later staged a walkout, chanting “Shame on you”.

Anwar was once a deputy prime minister in the ruling coalition but was sacked and jailed a decade ago on separate sex and corruption charges widely seen as politically motivated.

He spent six years in jail before the original sex conviction was overturned, and returned to parliament at the helm of a reinvigorated opposition which made huge strides in 2008 elections.

New polls are expected to be held early next year, but although the suspension will bar Anwar from attending parliamentary debates, his party says it will not sideline him or affect its election preparations.

***********************

As expected, they stage their usual drama. Prepared placards were already put in place, ready for the cameras. Particularly the foreign media. Hence, there are those English language placards, despite they in Parliament and the official language is Malay.

A typical 'Drama' by Pakatan Rakyat Primates attempting to play the role of representative of the rakyat

It is baffling what these Oppositions are made of. It is obvious they have minimal respect for order and authority nor rules and regulations. “Justice prevails” ONLY when the judgment is on their side.

Otherwise, “Justice is dead”, “Doomsday for demoracy” or worse still, “End of civilisation as we know it”.

The fact remains: Former-abuse-of-power-convict Anwar “Drama King” Ibrahim was allowed a week to present himself with evidence and substantiate his claims to the Parliamentary  Rights and Privilegse Select Committee for allegations on the ‘Apco-gate’. He vehemently refused to do so. Strong suspicions point towards him being his usual self  ‘Politics of Hate’  strategy the past  twelve and quarter years: Throw baseless allegations and sensationalise it and whenever actions are taken against him, controversialise it via media especially the foreign based that he is a victim of ‘hegemony’.

Nothing new. We have seen it all.

This is process of suspending the Permatang Pauh MP is by far in accordance with Parliamentary Regulations and Rules of Conduct. In fact, by comparison BN ADUNs have been send off from respective State Assemblies with far lesser conduct by the Pakatan Rakyat appointed Speakers in their majority controlled State Assemblies. Selangor Opposition Leader Dato’ Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and Penang Opposition Leader Dato’ Azhar Ibrahim suffered on the draconian power crazy Pakatan Rakyat Speakers.

BN ADUN Sungai Panjang Khir was suspended for a year along with four other BN ADUNs by the Selangor State Assembly Rights and Privielges Commmittee.

Khir Toyo suspended from state assembly

By WANI MUTHIAH

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo is slapped with a string of harsh calls for him to be suspended from the state assembly – as well as the suspension of his state assemblyman’s allowances and privileges.

The state assembly’s Rights and Privileges Committee made the recommendations after finding Dr Khir guilty of not attending an inquiry in March into the disbursement of state agency funds.

The inquiry was conducted by the state assembly’s Select Committee on Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) to investigate the channelling of state funds to Balkis – the Wives of Selangor Assemblymen and MPs Welfare and Charity Organisation.

The Rights and Privileges Committee also found Dr Khir guilty of three other charges of making disparaging remarks and negative statements about Selcat in the media and on his blog, said State Speaker Teng Chang Kim.

For not turning up at the inquiry, Dr Khir was slapped with a one-year suspension, and six months each for the three consecutive charges.

Teng, who announced this after chairing the Rights and Privileges Committee meeting at the state secretariat building yesterday, said all the suspensions would run concurrently.

Given this, Dr Khir would be barred from the state legislative assembly and denied of his allowances for one year.

Four other Barisan Nasional assemblymen Datuk Warno Dogol (Sabak Bernam), Datuk Mohd Idris Abu Bakar (Hulu Bernam), Mohd Isa Abu Kassim (Batang Kali) and Datuk Marsum Paing (Dengkil) were also found guilty of attacking Selcat in the media.

They were all suspended six months each without allowances and privileges.

BN ADUN Penaga Azhar for six months after he was referred to the Penang DUN Rights and Privileges and Committee proposed by DAP ADUN Datuk Keramat Jagdeep Singh Deo.

Azhar suspended from Penang state assembly for 6 months

2010/11/01

GEORGE TOWN: State Opposition leader Datuk Azhar Ibrahim was today suspended from the Penang state assembly for six months after refusing to retract alleged seditious remarks during a May 16 assembly.Azhar, the Penaga assemblyman, had been accused of using the seditious words and issuing “May 13” threats during Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s speech to the assembly.

The Umno assemblyman’s suspension, effective Aug 17 to February next year, also sparked a walkout by all the 11 Barisan Nasional (BN) members in the state legislature.
He was alleged to have warned of May 13 racial riots and suggested the army take over the functions of the police if the latter had lost the confidence of the people.

He was referred to the assembly’s rights and privileges committee after a motion tabled by Jagdeep Singh Deo (DAP-Datuk Keramat) was accepted.

The suspension was recommended by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and conveyed to the assembly by state assembly Speaker Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain.
However, his allowances as the state assemblyman would not be affected by the suspension while Teluk Bahang assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya would take over his role as Opposition Leader.

Azhar later told reporters that the suspension was an attempt by the Pakatan Rakyat-led state government to silence him and prevent him from attending the state assembly as he was always vocal.

“I don’t have to apologise because I did not do anything wrong,” he told reporters when asked why he did not apologize when asked to do so repeatedly. – BERNAMA

*********************

Presently, BN Kota Siputeh ADUN Dato’ Abu Hassan Sarip is on an indefinite suspension from the Kedah State Assembly.

What the Pakatan Rakyat MPs demonstrated in Dewan Rakyat today totally not reflective of their call for ‘civil society’. They themselves are not civil when the same rulings they invoke onto BN Opposition Leaders in their majority controlled State Assemblies. This ‘Double Standard’ is very apparent.

Again, this is about ‘Drama’. Pakatan Rakyat especially PKR is formed and continuously practice ‘drama’ as its strategic tool to remain ‘relevant’ in the eyes of the gullible fence sitters. The inherent and compounding problems with Pakatan Rakyat which is actually snowballing into a very complicated enigma of problems needed a lot of ‘tai chis’, ‘diversion’ and most of ‘cover ups’. Bad enough an ‘Unholy-marriage-of-backstabbing-strange-bedfellows’ distrust each other. Now their true colours are being portrayed for Malaysians and the world to see.

The face of a 'Monster'

Lets not forget the recent weekend’s explosive revelation of Singaporean intelligence reported to their Aussie and American ‘masters’ on Anwar “Compulsive Sodomite” Ibrahim’s unlawful sexual habits, is something very damning to PKR which is the central pillar of Pakatan Rakyat. PKR, which is the union of Parti KeAdilan Nasional and Parti Rakyat Malaysia was formed to legalise and institutionalised ‘Reformasi’, launched days after Anwar was sacked from the exhalted and heir apparent job of Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia on 2 September 1998.

The 'Former-Future-Prime-Minister' by deception

However, it is not for the blinded gullibles who still is hopeful that Pakatan  Rakyat would make a change. Then again, Malaysians needed to be reminded that Anwar “Liar, Liar” Ibrahim’s ’16 September 2008 Federal Government takeover’ never came and since then, Pakatan Rakyat has lost 5% of its strength (with the departure of PKR MPs Dato’ Zahrain Hashim, Tan Tee Beng, Hj Mohsin Fadzil and Wee Choo Keong and expulsion of Kulim Bandar-Baru MP Zulkifli Nordin) instead of ‘acquiring’ 38% more support (as promised, “31 BN MPs”)  to legally form the Federal Government. In the final analysis, they have now become 43% deficit in realising the ‘False Hope’ of change.

Its not a case of ‘pot calling the kettle black’ anymore, Its ‘black pots remaining black’. Then, now and forever.

The drama continues. As expected, these PR Primates create situation so that actions be taken against them despite they break the law.

Police arrest two PR supporters over march

By STEVEN CHIEW

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men were arrested when some 30 Pakatan Rakyat supporters tried to march from Parliament towards the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (Suhakam).

Those arrested were PKR Youth exco member Lee Khai Loon and Padang Serai PKR division secretary G. Pravin.

They were arrested for disobeying the police instructions when asked to not to march to Suhakam, which is located about 2km away from Parliament.

The PKR supporters were planning to march to Suhakam to show their dissatisfaction over the suspension of four opposition MPs, including Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

The march, headed by PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar, was stopped by police who have been stationed at the Parliament since morning.

However, after the two were arrested and taken away, the other supporters negotiated with the police to three representatives to go to the Suhakam headquarters.

The rest then dispersed.

Other three suspended MPs are R. Sivarasa (PKR-Subang), Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak) and Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor).

Raja Petra mula pokai?

Raja Petra: The fugitive cyber-anarchist currently charged under Penal Code

Laporan MStar:

RPK Serang PKR: Pembangkang Tak Layak Perintah Negara

Berhenti menangis seperti bayi,” ujar Raja Petra.

Raja Petra "Pembohong Pengecut" Kamaruddin bersama Anwar "Mat King Leather" Ibrahim

Agaknya lah. Samada terdesak atau sandiwara tahap berbeza. Kita sama sama lihat perkembangan ini.
