RCI on sex-video-gate: Rakyat have rights

Mat King Leather caught on tape literally with his pants down!

The Opposition are reacting. They vehemently denied that Opposition Leader Anwar “Mat King Leather” Ibrahim is the ‘star’ of the video, first being made known via a group of selected journalists a little over two weeks ago. Now that the 1 min 47 sec ‘teaser’ of the 21 minute most sought after porn-flick has been widely made available in the cyberphere via youtube and several blogs, they organised a joint media conference to disclaim that the one-time-abuse-of-power-convict is not the man in the shot.

BN MPs now asked the issue to be debated in the Dewan Rakyat. The Speaker in his wisdom as the representative of His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong denied the request. Now, the call is for a Royal Commission of Inquiry.

Again, the Opposition reacted like a bunch of wet-headless-hens, squawking round and round in circles. They are against it. The leader of this group prominent criminal lawyer Karpal Singh said the case is already under Police investigation and no RCI is necessary. “RCI is for something momentous for the nation”.

Media Conference at Mat King Leather's home: Soon to be the epitome of the losers league!

Isn’t it very pertinent that Anwar Ibrahim as the Opposition Leader be determined as ‘not involved in the sex video’ rather than just mere denial?

Of course it is. Anwar aspires to be the Prime Minister. He convinced too many Pakatan Rakyat supporters that by or on 16 September 2008, 31 BN MPs would ‘cross over’ and Pakatan Rakyat would take over the Federal Government. If Anwar is a ‘Prime Minister material’ and is involved with a morally and legally wrong soliciting sex from a sex worker (worse still, if she is an illegal alien!), then he could be an easy target for foreign security agencies to be a candidate for black mail.

Then an RCI is deemed very necessary. If Pakatan Rakyat leaders could demand for an RCI hours after political aide Teoh Beng Hock was found dead sprawling at the side of the building which houses MACC, then they should also demand that for the same mode of investigation to absolve their anointed leader from the perception of being a sexual addict if they are confident he is not one.

It is very strange that the Oppositions are vehemently denying the Rakyats’ rights for the truth. They are the ones who demanded for an RCI for the ‘V K Lingam video’, PKFZ, Kugan’s death and other lesser interest of the nation. The Oppositions’ on going strategy to demonise the law enforcement agencies like the Police, Judiciary, MACC and the rest seemed to be not applicable in this case as they have put their full trust on the Police to investigate instead of asking for an RCI. That, to many is very odd and unlike the Oppositions. For once, they put the complete trust on the Police instead of an RCI, “To find out the truth”.

Unless, they very well knew that this is one story which cannot hold water anymore. They have lied for so long (with regards to riding on Anwar’s sacking from 2 September 1998 and all the dramas there on) and living on their own consumated lies one after another and now all these lies are biting them straight in the face, with this sex-video-gate.

Needless to mention, the Rakyat have their rights on this sex-video-gate, to know the truth. An RCI would determine who is wrong and why it happened that way. Most of all, its indisputable. Borrowing from Anwar’s immortal phrase from his September 1998 ‘Reformasi’ days, “Rakyat hakim negara!” (Rakyat should judge the nation).

Unless Pakatan Rakyat is doubtful that Anwar is not the ‘star’ of the porn flick. However, to toe-the-party-lines, they are still showing solidarity with him on this. They defied their good sense and best of judgment for politics. This too, warrants the RCI.

The Rakyat have rights.

Those who felt that this sex-video-gate is an UMNO/BN ploy, thus its ‘gutter-politics’, then lets all take a good viewing  at this PKR sponsored ‘Media Rakyat’ video clip. For the record and as a comparison, none of UMNO top leaders went around the nation using the sex-video-gate as the basis or part of their ceramahs.
