Will he amend the Al Quran too?

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim who recently was acquitted from the charge under Section 377B of the Penal Code and called the sodomy laws as being “archaic”, now is vowing that these laws would be amended when he gets power.

Anwar will review sodomy law if he’s PM

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has made it clear that the country’s law on sodomy, which has been used to smear certain individuals, will be reviewed once he comes into power.
He said Sections 377B and 377C of the Penal Code “are archaic and have frequently been used to attack political foes”.
“People asked me whether I will review the laws. Yes, I will (review), to make sure it does not meant to insult people,” the Permatang Pauh MP told some 200 supporters at a thanksgiving prayer ceremony at his house last night.
He said evidence could easily be fabricated under the current interpretation of the two sections of the Penal Code, and he “makes no apology about archaic law”.
“Any ustaz who safeguards these two codes is dumb,” he said in a rousing tone.
Sections 377B and 377C state that whoever commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature, with or without consent, shall be punished with imprisonment up to a maximum of 20 years.

Controversial BBC interview

Anwar is now in the centre of a fresh controversy, after telling BBC in an interview that he would review “archaic laws”, when asked by the host about his readiness to to take “the idea of anti-discrimination as far as gay rights”.

Umno-owned dailies Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia zeroed-in on the issue, implying that Anwar was now supporting gay rights.
His personal orientation, Anwar told the crowd last night, expressed in private places should be outside the law.
“But I made it clear that (homosexuality) should not be allowed in public domain,” he said.
The opposition leader’s house in the tranquil Segambut Dalam locality was yesterday packed with 200 supporters attending the thanksgiving to mark his vindication in the two-year-long Sodomy II trial.

The supporters, many of whom donned white songkok, performed a total of four prayers in the living room, with Anwar seated in the centre of the crowd.
Also present were NGO Amanah deputy president Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, PKR information chief Muhammad Nor Manuty and PKR treasurer William Leong.
Touching on the Sodomy II verdict, Anwar said the surprising judgment might from the trial judge himself.
“That’s why he finished reading (the verdict) in three minutes…. Court proceedings lasted nearly three years, but verdict took just three minutes,” he jeered.

Possibly gov’t did not expect outcome

He said the reaction of the “government’s media” on in the aftermath of the verdict also showed that the authorities might not have expected the outcome.
His 45-minute speech was fittingly titled “The importance of confidence”.
In life, Anwar said, there would always be a time when “someone feels a challenge is too huge to overcome, and giving up seems to be the easier option”.
The Prophet Muhammad, too, he said, was puzzled by the series of obstacles before his triumph.
“As a human being, the larger role you play, the more challenges you will face,” he said.
Anwar’s speech ended with a loud chant of “takbir” and the Ishak prayers .

*********

Malaysian laws prohibit any homosexual activities, even though “consensual between two adults” and punishable with a maximum 20 years prison term, provided under the Penal Code.

This is inline with views of Islam on the same subjected matter and with specific mentions in the Al Quran and interpretation of top Imams through out the years.

  1. Bro BD,
Islam and all other major religions of the world prohibit homosexuality. Of late a number of our prominent ulamas have emphasized the illegality and the sin of such acts. God the Almighty created man and woman and each have specific “facilities” to accomodate the other towards ensuring productivity. God of course created men and women with weird likings. Anwar is one of them. I think Anwar has that sickness that when the urge for him to go for the rear, he forgets everything else. Probably such outbursts of desire helps to rejunevate him. In all probabilty his wonderful wife Wan Azizah is fully aware of her husband’s sexual weaknesses.
It is well nigh impossible for him to amend the law even though he might win the next elections. Hadi Awang and company need to answer to their electorates and to God the Almighty. To amend any law in Parliament the ruling party must have 2/3 majority which I foresee is an impossible thing for them. He’s dreaming of the impossible of course.
Berdoalah kita agar negara kita yang tercinta ini akan tetap ditadbir oleh mereka yang takut kepada bala dari Allah SWT! Dzulman Shah Alam .

    • Amiiiin!

    • Agree that Pakatan Rakyat will never have the 2/3 majority to amend laws. They won’t even have majority, period. The Muslims who form the majority in this country will not allow them to be majority when Anwarul Al Juburi talks about amending laws that’ll permit homos and lesbos.

And PAS is in league with Al Juburi. And DAP has of course been known to be anti-Malays and anti-Islam.

Anwar has been proven to be Al Juburi. Sodomy I Appeal Court Judges said that while his appeal was allowed on technical grounds, he did sodomize. Sodomy II Judge did not dispute that Anwar sodomize Saiful. Only that he had doubts about Anwar’s semen.

The matter of amending the Qur’an does not arise as far as Anwar is concerned. The matter between his legs often arises when he sees beautiful young men like Saiful.

      Haba haba.

      • You need 2/3 majority to amend the constitution. For other laws, a simple majority will suffice.

I’d suggest that the new (PR) govt., if at all they came to power, need not amend the relevant act extensively. Just state that the Act does not apply to the PM.

  2. May Allah s.w.t forbids the rise to governmental powers of the PR and PKR in Malaysia. Amin.

  3. Of all the laws, s. 377 is the one that Anwar is most keen to amend. Ada vested interest ke? Heheh!

  4. Was Saiful raped by an old old man? Or did Saiful readily gave in to Anwar to be sodomised. If Saiful readily surrendered to Anwar, then Saiful is as guilty as Anwar. If Anwar gets 20 years then Saiful must also be given 20 years in jail.

  5. […] sides of the political fence, was caught by surprise.  Later, Anwar was reported to have said that he will amend the law pertaining to sodomy which he opined as being archaic.  In doing so, he condemns not just the law, but also Holy Books of Peoples of the Book as being […]

  6. “People asked me whether I will review the laws. Yes, I will (review),

    – Amboi, confidentnya, bunyi macam dah sah jadi PM.

“But I made it clear that (homosexuality) should not be allowed in public domain,” he said.

    – Tuan Guru Nik Aziz tak mahu komen ke? keluar fatwa ke?

The supporters, many of whom donned white songkok, performed a total of four prayers in the living room, with Anwar seated in the centre of the crowd.
Anwar’s speech ended with a loud chant of “takbir” and the Ishak prayers.

    – Ishh, nak menghalalkan perkara yang diharamkan oleh Islam pun kena guna cara Islam rupanya. Orang PAS apa komen saudara?

The Prophet Muhammad, too, he said, was puzzled by the series of obstacles before his triumph.

    – Biar betul, nak bandingkan diri dia ni dengan Baginda Rasullullah S.A.W.

Touching on the Sodomy II verdict, Anwar said the surprising judgment might from the trial judge himself.

    – Dalam sistem kita ni kalau bukan trial judge yang deliver the verdict, siapa lagi?

  7. The AG has filed a Notice of Appeal against the 9 Jan judgement. I hope he’ll also apply for a Certificate of Urgency from the Registrar of Courts for the hearing to be heard and judgment made by the Appeal Court as soon as possible.

Urgency on the grounds of national interest. It is in the national interest in view of PRU13 and the man is an interested party to PRU13. If PR gains majority (however slim the possibility), the man may change laws drastically such that chaos can occur, for example, Muslims may create havoc if same gender sex is allowed, when Islam, which is the religion of the country, forbids that, and so do all the major religions of the country.

I’d certainly like to see him behind bars or within prison walls by PRU13. I hope the Appeal Court Judges would not entertain too many postponements, like there were 70 during the previous trial which took some 3 years to reach a verdict..
