Multiplying Murka

The anti-Malay Chinese Chauvinist party DAP got another murka from another HRH Malay Ruler. This time from HRH Sultan Selangor for an obvious statement to insult Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia and the Malays at large.

Selangor Sultan expresses regret over Guan Eng’s ‘Allah’ statement

PETALING JAYA: The Sultan of Selangor has expressed his shock and regret over DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng‘s recent statement urging the Federal Government to allow the word “Allah” to be used in the Malay version of the Bible.

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah had called for an emergency meeting with members of the Selangor Islamic Affairs Council (Mais), Selangor mufti as well as high-ranking officials of Mais and Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) on Jan 6 over the matter.

“The Sultan of Selangor has made a decision and decreed that the word Allah is a sacred word specific for Muslims and prohibited to be used by any non-Muslim religion in Selangor as stated in a fatwa and gazetted on Feb 18, 2010,” Mais secretary Datuk Mohd Misri Idris said in a statement Tuesday.

He said the Sultan had released the same fatwa regarding the use of the word “Allah” three years ago when the issue first surfaced.

“Tuanku is disappointed that the decree was taken lightly by some parties and the same issue brought up again,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Misri said Sultan Sharafuddin has instructed Mais and Jais to take stern action against anyone, whether non-Muslim or Muslim, who questioned the fatwa released according to the provisions of law in Selangor.

He said Section 9 of the Non-Muslim Enactment 1988 clearly prohibited the use of the word “Allah” from being used by non-Muslims in anything related to their religion.

“They can be charged with disobeying this provision,” he said.

This is not the first time HRH Sultan Selangor spoke against aggressive attempts by some Christians to encroach into the sanctity of Islam. The JAIS raid for anti-proselytisation at Damansara Utama Methodist Church on 6 August 2011 caught the Selangor Head of Islam’s attention and defended JAIS’s operation.

For the record, HRH Sultan Selangor also expressed his gross displeasure on 5 Aug 2010 for the attempt to use ‘Allah’ for God in Malay bibles. National Fatwa Council decided on 5 May 2008 that “The word ‘Allah’ is only for Muslims and there must be serious effort to limit the use of there word in accordance with the Federal Constitution”.

Christians have been seen as trying to encroach into the sanctity of Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia and an attempt to anger the Malays with their demand to have the ‘Allah’ in place of ‘Tuhan’ in Malay bibles and made available in Semenanjung Malaysia. Opposition parties especially the anti-Malay DAP made it worse by continuously fanning the issue aloud.

Malay Rulers are the absolute decision making authority for Islam matters in the nine states they rule as sovereign  Constitutional Rulers.

The fact that DAP continuously kept the matter alive and aloud depicts their sinister agenda to anger the majority Malays, who find the matter as a major insult against Islam. This is part of the Opposition’s ‘Politics of Hatred’ strategy to attain attention, as a prelude to create a chaotic and destabilized Malaysia. That is part of their ‘Malaysian Spring’ game to gain international assistance whenever the authorities and majority clamp against them and their intolerable insults.

August last year, for Selangor Exco in-charge of Islamic Affairs and PAS Commissioner Dato’ Dr Hassan Md Ali revealed that ‘churches have special units to protelyse‘, including Muslims. The churches’ demand to have ‘Allah’ instead of ‘God’ in Malay bibles and allow for distribution in Semenanjung Malaysia has been seen to facilitate the agenda to proselytize into Christianity.

Federal Constitution Article 11 (4) prohibits any  proselytisation any nature against any Muslim.

  1. Sorry,I can’t accept your decree. You have no right to infringe on my rights. I worship my Allah while you worship your Allah. No confussion here. I call my father “Ayah”, you call your father “Ayah”, but we never get confuse who our father is although we both call our different fathers”Ayah”. Allah is never meant for the Muslim only, it is used by Christians, Jews, Sikhs and others as they have similar background. We never get confuse of who our God is. Only in Malaysia some Muslims wants to claim their right to use Allah for their religion, but Muslims from other parts of the world have no issue.

Also Selangor state anthem (from wikipedia)

    Duli Yang Maha Mulia
    Selamat diatas takhta
    ALLAH lanjutkan usia Tuanku
Rakyat mohon restu bawah Duli Tuanku
    Bahagia selama-lamnya
    Aman dan sentosa
    Duli Yang Maha Mulia

That’s it. What to do lah ???? Non Muslim can’t sing selangor anthem?

    • So what about God save the queen? Why UK did not use Allah instead of God or Lord? Stupid moron

      • That’s becos in the UK they speak English, la. i think in this case the christians from East malaysia especially (who form the bulk of the Christians in this country) are upset becos their bibles imported from Indonesia, which are in Bahasa Indonesia, have been using Allah for centuries.

    • Tuanku is Muslim so Allah will prolong his life. This simple logic escapes racist chinese christians.

Semantically the meaning of “Allah” NEVER equates the christian god.

In West Malaysian context, this insistence on using an incorrect translated word even though there there is a present alternative word “Tuhan” only serves to highlight a malicious and sneaky political agenda.

It is never about religion, it is definitely about politics. In short Tokong Lim is exploiting religion for his political gains.

He cares NOT about the delicate balance of harmony amongst the multireligious, multiethnic, multicultural context of blessed Malaysia.

      • If follow you logic, the ALLAH word from the mouth of non Muslim will certainly not the Muslim ALLAH thus non Muslim cannot be allowed to sing Selangor anthem as this would mean a ‘different’ ALLAH who prolonged Sultan life and this is unacceptable for Sultan.

What puzzle me is why Sultan has such low confidence on fellow Muslim and think that a single word will sway Muslim faith? Maybe he got wrong advise.

      • Where got follow logic one, Mister? If follow logic one, people don’t use Malaysia as a blogging name what.

And people talk about using the term Allah in Christian Malay language Bible lah. Not Allah in Selangor state anthem. I call you stupid, can or not?

      • Aiseh stu (you haven’t given me permission to use the word, so I use stu only lah), the Arab Christians, Jews etc use the term Allah because Allah is an Arabic language lah.

But in Malaysia BM is our (yours, too, innit?) language lah. And the BM word for it is Tuhan lah. Lu olang tatak sikolah BM ka?

Like this la, Mister – History Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Khoo Kay Kim said “Berhijrah lah” to those fellas who don’t like this country by defacing our leader’s photo and belittling the Malaysian flag on Dataran Merdeka on last Merdeka eve. If you don’t like this country and cannot accept the decision of the Sultan (he is the head of the Islamic religion in the state), you berambus lah. That word has the same meaning as the Professor’s. And I support what the Professor said fully.

    • and this one also

    • Seorang Paderi dari Indonesia Pdt. Jahja Iskandar Mth. mengakui bahawa kata
“Allah” khas untuk umat Islam. Perakuan ini termuat dalam bukunya “Mengapa
Nama YAHWEH Semakin Popular” yang diterbitkan oleh Pt Abiyah Pertama Jakarta (hlm. 116). Menurut beliau, kata yang tepat bagi nama Tuhan sembahan orang Kristian berasaskan bahasa asli perjanjian lama, iaitu Ibrani ialah “Elohim” (hlm. 144, 145). 127).

  2. Sorry, I can’t neither accept your statement. Since when does Christians and Jews refer god to Allah? Please refer back to the original languange of the bible n torah, God was never referred to as Allah and neither does English Bible, it only occur in Bahasa Malaysia Bible. there is no other translated bible in the whole that uses Allah when referring to god except Bible in Bahasa Malaysia and thats why the issue only occurs in Malaysia and it does not bother Muslims in other part of the worlds. Other Christians doesn’t bother using Allah referring to God but why Malaysian Christians? As for the Sikhs, please do some research on the origin of Sikhs faith.

Its not about Muslim getting confused of our God but its about the sacredness of the name. Do you know what Allah means in arabic languange? It means THE ONE AND ONLY GOD. In Arabic, ‘ilah’ is referred to God and ‘AL’ is added to ‘ilah’ to show the oneness of the noun and become proper noun. It is just their tradition to refer God as Allah because their ancestor used to worshiped only one God. So why do you want to refer God as Allah whereby you have Tuhan Anak, Tuhan Bapa and Rohhul Quddus? thats not one God, thats three. In other words, when Christians uses Allah, you are not believing in the teaching of bible because you are saying God is one.

Yes i call my father ‘ayah’ and you call your father ‘ayah’. But my ‘ayah”s name with your ‘ayah”s is different. Same as God. Does ‘Proper Noun’ and ‘Common Noun’ ring u a bell?

As for the Selangor state anthem, ‘Allah lanjutkan usia Tuanku’ signifies the relegion of the State Ruler and Islam being the offical religion of the state. When you change to ‘Tuhan lanjutkan usia Tuanku’ that doesnt signifies the faith of the Ruler and the offical religion to the state. But when you allow Allah to be used by other religion, that line in the State Anthem doesn’t really mean anything.

may Allah shower His blessings to you…… Amin, Allahumma Amin

    • Good one, aidil.

  3. Dear Big Dog and friends,

Please read this report from The Malaysian Insider that is going viral right now.

Apparently the Sultan of Selangor’s banning of the word ‘Allah’ is a blasphemous act. It contradicts Islam.

    Here is the link:

    We must fight back.

  4. Read the statement “The Sultan of Selangor has expressed his shock and regret over DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng‘s recent statement urging the Federal Government to allow the word “Allah” to be used in the Malay version of the Bible.”

In the Bible. Malay version. The word Allah.

Lu nak pakai Allah dalam lu punya sembahyang lu punya pasal.

Islam, Christian and Jew maybe share the similar background. Sikh? I don’t think so.

Lu dalam Malaysia, lu ikut cara Malaysia. Lu nak orgy agama lu pergi tempat lain.

    • That is right.

HRH Tuanku as the Head of Islam is prohibiting the word ‘Allah’ be used in the bibles, especially in Malay.

  5. High time Lim Guan Eng is charged for instigation under present laws.

  6. Hi Big Dog.

    Thanks for article.

Correction – you said ‘protelysation’ – should be ‘proselytisation’.

Also did you hear about the point that it is against Islam/anti-Islamic to stop people from using ‘Allah’?

  7. Yo malaysian

You have not addressed the idiosyncrasy of the chinese christians who insist on using “Allah” when the Malay language has the word “Tuhan”.

Perhaps you may want to upgrade your deficient knowledge by reading these articles.

  9. So sad about Allah issue. So voting for BN coming pru

  10. […] game then former US Ambassador John R. Malott once did. At least, Malott did not insult any of HRH Rulers’ decree nor the sentiments on the position of Islam as the religion of the Federation of […]
