Defenders of Anti-Peace

The DAP Chief Strategist and ‘Politics of Hatred’ Maestro

It is very clear that Chinese Chauvinist DAP leaders are spokespersons for organised crimes and operators of the underworld crimes and vice activities. DAP National Publicity Secretary Tony Pua lambasted Former IGP Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Mohd. Noor’s interview with Mingguan Malaysia, on the paramount of peace and public safety which warrants the use of law enforcement tools like Emergency Ordinance, Internal Security Act and Sedition Act to ensure stability to Malaysia’s complexity of pluralism.

Pua answers ex-police chief’s “broken wings” with the “Black Eye”

Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Noor’s call to reinstate preventive detention laws should be ignored by the government, the DAP said today.

DAP national publicity chief Tony Pua said Rahim’s admission that the police have been helpless since the Emergency Ordinance (EO) was repealed reveals that their competence and professionalism had declined to deplorable levels.

He said instead of complaining, the police should just redeploy personnel to crime-fighting efforts.

“The police should restructure by reallocating more personnel to fight crime,” he said and added that the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) should be set up as well.

In a weekend interview with the Umno-controlled Mingguan Malaysia, Abdul Rahim had said the police have been crippled since the EO, which allowed for detention without trial, was repealed in 2011.

“It’s like they have broken wings. Things are no longer like they were before. Intelligence gathered can only be documented,” Abdul Rahim said.

He said the police could only gather information on criminals but could not take further action, allowing criminals to go on a crime spree.

He noted too that gangsterism had gone “out of control”.

The EO was repealed last year as part of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s efforts to reform outdated laws that Malaysians have criticised.

Pua, in his statement, said the police should stop depending on EO-like laws “as a crutch”.

As for Abdul Rahim’s claim that police could only gather information, Pua said, “That can only mean that the ‘intelligence’ isn’t very intelligent.

“Najib was absolutely spot on when he decreed that ‘now police must train themselves how to look for evidence’ upon repealing the EO.”

Pua said Abdul Rahim himself was a good example of why an EO-type law should not be revived.

He pointed to the notorious “Black Eye” incident of 1988 when he beat up former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim while the latter was in the lock-up.

Before he was charged in court, Anwar was held under the now repealed draconian Internal Security Act which allowed for detention without trial.

“Despite evidence to the contrary, the police had for the longest period denied any abuse on their part, and even suggested that Anwar had given himself the infamous black eye.”

Subsequently, Abdul Rahim confessed to a Royal Commission of Inquiry formed to probe the matter that he was the one who had beaten Anwar.

Pua said the incident showed that even an IGP could not be trusted to decide who was guilty or innocent before a person was charged in court.

“Anwar Ibrahim, for example, was acquitted of all charges against him,” said Pua.- July 22, 2013.

When Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak announced the repeal of ISA and EO on the eve that The Mole went live back in 2011, it has been argued whether the Federal Government was willing to commit more men and materiel to do policing work and combat crime. It is without doubt that when the Lords of the Underworld Crimes and Vices are allowed to walk free, their organisation and network of operators goes back being properly planned and managed.

Undoubtedly, that acts as a catalyst for more crimes related to theft, robbery, narcotics and vice related and eventually kidnaping and murder to rise in society.

Using the EO to take these organised crime leaders off the street and away from the organsation, network and operation is the right strategy to ensure the cascading effect to bring these crimes down. And it doesn’t require an honours degree from a medieval British institution to figure out that the actual rise in street crimes are related to these EO inmates’ release and return to society.

It is almost impossible to have paper trails that are admissible in court as evidence to reprimand these persons of organised crime network and operation and Lords of the Underworld Vices. Even sophisticated law enforcement agencies in the United States, Italy, United Kingdom, Russia and Turkey wish they had ‘necessary apparatus’ such as EO to keep these despicable criminals away from the society.

Pua who is also the Director of Strategy for DAP also omitted the fact that when then sacked Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was arrested under ISA for his ‘Reformasi’ movement because he was instigating Malaysians to rise and rebel against the Federal Government and topple then Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad. It was also the same day that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of Windsor was in town to officiate the X Commonwealth Games.

It was then deemed necessary to ensure that peace and stability of the nation comes first, instead of Anwar’s fake trumpeted lies against Dr. Mahathir’s leadership and government.

The past one year situation would be very different had the Police and Home Ministry still have ‘necessary apparatus’ such as the EO and ISA. The fight against organised regional extremism and such as Jihad Islamiah and Al Sayyaf and international terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda would be more efficient instead of the current SOSMA. For instance, the ‘Lahad Datu Tragedy’ would be handled differently and more Malaysian security services’ lives would have been sparred.

The pro-communist DAP wanted Malaysians to accept the apology of Chin “Butcher of Malaya” Peng and became a promoter for the man who was responsible for the near 10,000 lost of lives (between 1948-1960) to come back to Malaysia.

It is very immature to assume the need for ‘necessary apparatus’ designed for situation against extremists and terrorists such as the Emergency and the Second Emergency does not reoccur. Unless Malaysians fancy getting wise after the event and when the situation arises, we resort to declaring Emergency, suspending the Parliament and the National Operation Council rules as the Federal Government.

Tony Pua is only interested to rubbish the notion that majority of Malaysians felt that the decision to do away with ‘necessary apparatus’ to maintain order, peace and stability. Then again he is realising the Oppositions’  ‘Politics of Hatred’ strategy to demonise the power that lies with the law enforcement authorities so that they could thrive by instigating Malaysians into a pandemonic state of lawnessless, chaos and eventually anarchy.

That is the Oppositions’ remaining hope of coming to power as majority of Malaysians detest attempts to destabilise the nation, in any form for any excuse.

FGV financing DAP leaders

The current business story about FELDA Global Ventures Holdings Bhd. (FGV) is the story of taking over Pontian United Plantations Bhd. (Pontian Plantations)  is actually more than what meets the eye. The proposed deal eventually be about the FELDA business and investment enticing and arming DAP leaders with a huge amount of cash if the deal goes through.

The Malaysian Reserve story on the proposed acquisition.

FGVH to buy RM1.2b Sabah plantation

E-mailPrintPDF

Cash-rich Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGVH) is proposing to spend up to RM1.21 billion to buy an unlisted firm that has 40,000 acres of palm oil plantation mostly in Sabah, just less than two weeks after it purchased an RM44 million upstream acquisition of 21,037ha in Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia.

The deal is to be done through a voluntary conditional takeover offer of all the voting shares of RM1 each in Pontian Plantations United Bhd for RM140 per offer share.

This is in line with FGVH plans to further expand its oil palm plantations as reported earlier in the local exchange.

In a related announcement to the exchange yesterday, plantation company TSH Resources Bhd is selling its entire 16.17% interests in Pontian to FGVH for RM195.8 million cash. The sale will result in a gain of RM86.4 million to TSH Resources.

TSH Resources, which owns Pontian via its indirect wholly owned subsidiary Bisa Jaya Sdn Bhd, joins a few other shareholders who have given irrevocable undertakings to sell their shares to FGVH, totaling about two million shares or 23.81%, leaving about 6.6 million shares or 76.19% to be acquired by FGVH via this offer.

Last year in June, TSH Resources made an offer of RM90 per share for the 6.94 million shares or 80.28% of Pontian share it did not own, for a total deal value of RM625 million.

The deal fell through following the expiry of the offer’s closing date where TSH Resources had only managed to increase its shareholdings from 8% to 20.2%.

The offer price by TSH Resources of RM90 a share represented a price earnings (PE) multiple of 14.49 times while the current offer by FGVH of RM140 per share represents a PE multiple of 21.8 times based on the average earnings per share of Pontian of RM6.43 for the past two financial years ended Dec 31, 2011, and 2012.

FGVH said this acquisition will be funded via internally generated funds, proceeds raised from FGVH’s initial public offering (IPO) and/or bank borrowings.

According to FGVH’s statement to the exchange, the offer is expected to be completed by the fourth-quarter of 2013 and is conditional on it holding more than 50% of Pontian shares as at the offer’s closing date which will be set in the future.

FGVH raised RM4.46 billion in its 2012 IPO and as at the last report, RM3.85 billion remained of the money.
Corporate Malaysia

******************

There are several interesting bits about this proposed corporate maneuvre.

As a start, it is a super-premium acquisition. FGV is paying a hell of sum of money amounting up to RM 1.2 billion, not to mention the premium that goes with that for the entire corporate exercise. The first tranche is RM 195 million for 23.81% of Pontian Plantations which is currently held by TSH Resources Bhd.

Analysts are mixed over the RM 1.2 billion price tag offered by FGV for Pontian Plantations acquisition proposal. RHB Research Institute Sdn Bhd thinks the price is too steep. The valuation seems high based on Pontian Plantations’ 2011 and 2012 net profits of RM 71.7 million and RM 39.5 million, respectively, translating into price-earnings (PE) ratios of 16.9 times for 2011 and 30.7 times for 2012, RHB Research noted. “More importantly, its landbank is priced at RM74,765 per ha, which looks expensive, even higher than the valuation. RM140 per share translates to approx RM1.2 Billion cash consideration”.

TSH Resources had a prickly boardroom experience in Pontian Plantations, where they don’t have majority power. They tried to take over the rest of Pontian Plantations for RM 90.00 per share, which is 14.5 PE exactly a year ago but failed. DAP Adviser for Life, founder and former Chairman Dr. Chen Man Hin and sons control majority of the remaining of the 65.6% of Pontian Plantations and the BOD, refused to this TSH Resources offer.

Another interesting fact is that when TSH Resources offered to take over Pontian Plantations last year, the CPO was at RM 3,200 per ton. The current proposed offer of RM 140 per share today is at the point where the CPO price is RM 2,300 per ton.

TSH proposes merger with Pontian United Plantations

BY WONG WEI-SHEN
WEISHEN.WONG@THESTAR.COM.MY

Chairman says move will ignite synergistic growth

KUALA LUMPUR: TSH Resources Bhd hopes to create more value via economies of scale through integrating with Pontian United Plantations Bhd (PUPB), a public but unlisted plantation firm.

In filings with Bursa Malaysia on June 26, TSH announced a proposed acquisition of PUPB’s entire voting shares of RM1 each via its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Bisa Jaya Sdn Bhd (BJSB), together with Chin Leong Thye Sdn Bhd, Lee Chin Hwa, Lee Min Huat and Lee Sep Pian.

“Our intention for the merger is to create more value. We can have better economies of scale and can benefit from creating value together,” chairman Datuk Kelvin Tan told reporters yesterday.

Both TSH and PUPB plantation fields have been neighbours since the 1990s, sharing the same access road in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

Tan said the benefits of the merger included economies of scale in both companies’ supply chains, logistics, distributions, finance and employee training.

Most of PUPB’s plantations have matured, while 73% of TSH’s plantations are immature. Furthermore, TSH has a landbank size of 70,000 ha for future planting. “PUPB can ride on the growth that we will have,” Tan said.

PUPB would also be able to reap benefits from TSH’s biotech Wakuba high-yield clone, a technology developed by TSH’s biotech centre in Sabah. The Wakuba ramets can produce around eight to 10 tonnes per hectare of palm oil yield, compared with the current industry average of four to six tonnes.

The merger will allow both TSH and PUPB to increase planted plantation landbank size and eventually lead to a higher fresh fruit bunch output.

To enable the integration of both companies, TSH needs to obtain a 50% plus one share stake in PUPB. Currently, TSH and the joint offerors hold 1.71 million shares in PUPB, representing a 19.72% stake. Through BJSB, TSH has been a shareholder of PUPB since 2005.

TSH is offering RM90 for each PUPB share, which will come in two segments. The first of which will be satisfied through RM45.06 in cash and RM44.94 via the issuance of 21 TSH shares. This offer price is 2.25 times the last known transacted price six months ago of PUPB at RM40.

The issuance of TSH shares represents the ordinary shares of 50 sen each, issued at a price of RM2.14 per TSH share, a 10% discount to the five-day volume weighted average market price of TSH shares up to and including June 25.

The remaining 80% stake in PUPB not already owned by TSH and the joint offerors, via the offer was valued at RM624mil. This was at least 14.6 times the price earnings ratio, based on the past three-year net profit average. The 100% valuation of the company currently stands at RM780mil. TSH expects to deliver the offer document to PUPB in three weeks.

However, PUPB will continue to operate as a separate legal entity following the merger.

***********

Obviously these Chinese businessmen failed to sort out their own affairs on the own.

What is FGV supposed to do absolving Kelvin Tan from his duties and commitments in BOD of Pontian Plantations by taking up all of the 23.8% holding but without BOD and management control?

DAP founder and Adviser for Life Dr Chan Man Hin giving a speech as Pontian United Plantations Bhd. Chairman

DAP founder and Adviser for Life Dr Chan Man Hin giving a speech as Pontian United Plantations Bhd. Chairman

So, the game now is for FGV to take over Chinese Chauvinist Dr. Chen Man Hin and sons’ holding for RM 140 per share at 31 PE, which translate to about RM 200,000 per acre and an eventual princely sum of RM 1.2 billion. That is exorbitantly over-priced, by any counts for a plantation.

The “Thirteen Million Plus Ringgit” question is; What if  Dr Chen Man Hin and sons turn down the RM 140 per share of Pontian Plantations?

Chairman and Management of Pontian United Plantations Bhd.

Chairman and Management of Pontian United Plantations Bhd.

After all, most of Pontian Plantations are 999 years lease. Then, FGV must up its own offer, which may above the current RM 185,00 per acre already on the table. Otherwise, they are stuck with just the 23.8% bit acquired from TSH Resources.

FGV’s 23.8% investment in FGV would be of limited worth since Pontian Plantations is under the control of Dr Chen and his sons. The exercise would just alleviate Kelvin Tan from his own financial predicaments.

Tan Sri Isa Samad and Emir Mavani

Tan Sri Isa Samad and Emir Mavani

Then again the subsequent question would be whether FGV invest more money on consultants, to do a more comprehensive analysis on the project and come up with a more enticing proposal for the acquisition. After all, FGV CEO Emir Mavani (p.k.a. Pradeeb Kumar), Chief Strategy Officer Dr Suzana Idayuwati Osman and the planter-wannabe PEMANDUettes already commissioned some consultants to a sum of RM 1.5 million for this Pontian Plantations acquisition.

This consultancy expenditure for FGV is despite having a stream of PEMANDUettes Mavani brought in and placed them as General Managers all over strategic posts within FGV.

In short, this corporate maneuvre is about a GLC enticing the Chinese with more goodies and this time is with a princely amount of money. The irony is the benefactors are Chinese Chauvinists who are out to destroy entities that are supposed to look after the Malay interest, such as FELDA.

The supplementary “Thirteen Million Plus Ringgit” question is; What is FGV Chairman YB Tan Sri Isa Samad doing about this Pontian Plantations acquisition?

It is unfortunate that the public opinion especially amongst the Malays would eventually have a negative perception on FGV if this acquisition goes through. It is on top of the fact that Isa pushed so hard to have a Non Malay without any relevant plantations experience be placed to replace Tan Sri Sabri Ahmad as FGV CEO.

Will Isa Samad stick to be "honest and truthful", which include the New Britian deal?

Will Isa Samad stick to be “factual and truthful”, which include the New Britian deal?

The fact is that no planter would ever want to pay almost RM 200,000 per acre in Sabah. So is the 11,500has New Britain deal, in Papua New Guinea. The simplest question that would cross the minds of many, especially the 112,635 FELDA setllers and their families, “Just because FGV have a lot of cash, they simply buy anything at any ridiculous price?”.

If FGV were to buy out most of Dr Chen Man Hin and sons’ holding in Pontian Plantations, especially at RM 140 per share then it would be seen as Isa ‘financing’ the DAP founder and Adviser for Life. Erosion of confidence on Isa, would be the least of Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak’s problems when it comes to FELDA and the voters in the 54 Parliamentary constituencies where 114 schemes are located.

Apology not enough, Vatican envoy should leave, say Perkasa and Jati

The Malaysian Insider pic by Hasbullah Awang Chik, July 19, 2013.Despite the Vatican envoy’s apology to Wisma Putra over his comments on the Allah issue, several non-governmental organisations saw fit to march to the Apostolic Nunciature here to send in a protest note.

They are still adamant that the apostolic nuncio Archbishop Joseph Marino leave the country, with Perkasa wanting the envoy to be changed and Jati taking it a step further, asking for the end of any diplomatic relations with the Vatican.

They are also demanding that the Vatican envoy apologise for offending Muslims in Malaysia.

Aside from Jati and Perkasa, the NGOs present were Armada Melayu, Gabungan Bela Hak Insan Pulau Pinang and Perembam, an Indian NGO.

“We came here to meet the Vatican envoy but he is not here,” said Jati president Datuk Hasan Ali.

No one came out from the Apostolic Nunciature to meet the group, forcing the protesters to hand over a copy of the note to the policemen outside the premises. A copy of the note was also posted on the guardhouse.

“Marino had said that they had strong arguments on why Christians could use the word Allah, while to our understanding, the word cannot be used by non-Muslims”, Hasan said.

He also called for the nunciature to be closed, adding that they would advise the government that there was no need for a Vatican embassy here.

Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali said Archbishop Marino’s meeting with Foreign Affairs minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman did not bring closure to the issue as it was a meeting to explain and to convey his apology to the minister.

“We wish to state that Marino is persona-non-grata in Malaysia and he has to leave.

“By stating his support for the use of the term Allah, it can be construed as the archbishop was supporting the opposition, which has always been wanting to play up this issue,” said Ibrahim.

Ibrahim and Hasan were clearly not on the same page as the former also told reporters: “We want a new envoy. We are not anti-Christian or anti any other religion. But if Marino can make fun of our religion, we cannot remain silent.”

In his first interview with the Malaysian media, Archbishop Marino had expressed his support for the Christian Federation Malaysia’s arguments in support on the use of the word Allah by the Christian community here.

It was also reported that during the interview, the archbishop had qualified that the court case pending on the Allah issue was an internal matter for the country.

Perkasa and Jati demanded that the Vatican envoy withdraw his support for the local church’s campaign to use the word Allah and wanted him to apologise within seven days.

The Council of Churches Malaysia urge the government to take action against Perkasa and Jati for trying to disrupt diplomatic ties between Malaysia and the Vatican.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) had also come out in support of Archbishop Marino saying he had no reason to retract his statement as he was speaking the truth.

Catholic Bishop Paul Tan said that he was shocked at the reaction of the two Malay rights NGOs, noting that the Vatican envoy’s remarks “should not be seen as an interference in Malaysia’s internal affairs any more than the demand at some embassies in Kuala Lumpur recently that our government reject the goings-on in Egypt and Syria constitutes interference in those nations’ affairs”.

The head of the Catholic Church in the Malacca-Johor diocese described Perkasa and Jati’s demands as “gimmicky sabre-rattling”.

Archbishop Marino was then summoned to Anifah’s office, where he asked the foreign minister to convey his apologies if his comments on the Allah issue have caused any misunderstanding and inconvenience with the envoy stressing he never intended to interfere in the internal affairs of Malaysia. – July 19, 2013.

************

“Foreign interference” and behaviour unbecoming of an ambassador of peace by insulting a decree of HRH Ruler pertaining on Islam  which is the religion of the Federation of Malaysia, isn’t taken lightly by these right wing Federal Constitution fundamentalists.

It is clear that Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Marino failed in his primary task with his presence in Kuala Lumpur, which is a diplomat and representative of the Pope of Catholic Church for better understanding between beliefs. Instead, he is deemed to intentionally outrageous or political by his choice to side with the Christian Federation of Malaysia on an issue which is ultra sensitive for the Malay-Muslim majority.

Article 3.1 & 3.2 of the Federal Constitution

Article 3.1 & 3.2 of the Federal Constitution

The Council of Churches demand for actions to be taken against Malay NGOs such as JATI, PERKASA and MUAFAKAT should be deemed anti-Constitution. The Malay NGOs are defending what is enshrined under the Federation of Malaysia Constitution, which is the position of Islam.

Then again, issues pertaining diplomatic relations are not provisions in the Federal Constitution.

The representative of Malaysian Consulative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) must first realise that”The truth” is that Islam is the third article in  Part I of the Federation of Malaysia Constitution, where the identity of this nation is defined by law.

Al Kitab; The Malay bible

Al Kitab; The Malay bible

It is even mention ahead of the ‘Supreme Law of the Federation’.Thus, the prominence and position of Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia is paramount.

The freedom in the belief of ‘kalimah Allah’ in place of God in bibles and other religious scriptures subscribed by the churches and MCCBCHST is probably applicable elsewhere but not in this country. In the argument otherwise should be deemed as an initiative to protelyse Muslims into Christianity, which is prohibited.

After all, Article 3.1 of the Federal Constitution stated “Other religions may be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation” and 11.4 “Federal law may control or restrict the propagation of any religious doctrine or belief amongst persons professing the religion of Islam”.

Challenging what have been enshrined in the Federal Constitution as “Islam is the religion of the Federation” and what HRH Sultan Selangor decreed pertaining to ‘kalimah Allah’ is in fact should be viewed as an attempt to disrupt that ‘peace and harmony’.

Even when a Muslim volunteer for apostasy, as what then Chief Justice Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Ahmad said in his position presiding on the Lina Joy case six years ago.

Anti-Constitution Bishop Paul Tan

If what The Malaysian Insider reported is true, then Bishop Paul Tan’s statement should be investigated by the authorities under Sedition Act. Session Courts Judge Murtzadi Amran in the case of PP Vs Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee paved the way that persons with tendency of causing anger and ill feelings between believers of different faiths should not be allowed to walk free in society and denied bail.

The Attorney General of Malaysia also paved the way that an apology isn’t adequate when Islam has been insulted but instead should be dealt with the maximum penalty to the limit of the law.

Sessions Court judge Murtazadi Amran denied bail to both accused and fixed Aug 23 for mention.

Sorry no cure

Alvin Tan’s and Vivian Lee’s ‘Selamat Berbuka Puasa’ message

This Ramadan, Malaysian Muslims were seriously insulted by Non Muslims. First it was the sexebitionist duo Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee with their Bah Kut Teh ‘Selamat Menyambut Ramadan’ wishes. Then Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Joseph Marino’s support of Christian Federation Malaysia’s quest to use ‘kalimah Allah’ in place of God.

Sexebitionist duo Tan and Lee sordid prank deemed with deep malice enraged so many quarters. It was highlighted by mainstream media on top very emotional reactions in the social media network. Hence, it became a national issue and raised by Parliamentarians in the ongoing Dewan Rakyat sitting.

They apologised.

Alvivi apologise for offensive ‘buka puasa’ greeting calling it their “stupidest stunt”

BY QISHIN TARIQ

PETALING JAYA: Sex bloggers Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee have issued an apology over their offensive Selamat Berbuka Puasa ‘greeting’, calling it their “stupidest stunt”.

In a 1:22 minute video uploaded on their youtube channel SexcussionsAlvivi, the couple apologised for the insensitive posting, saying it was done in humour.

“We are recording this video to ask for forgiveness for offending Muslims in this holy month of Ramadan,” said Tan in the video.

“We sincerely regret offending religious beliefs and sensitivites in multi-cultural Malaysia,” he added, speaking in Malay.

He said that they had no intent to insult or ridicule the Muslim faith, nor incite racial conflict.

He ended the video by saying “selamat Aidilfitri dan maaf zahir batin (happy Aidilfitri and apologies for all discretions)”.

Though present, Lee did not speak during the video.

In a 9.10pm post on their twitter @AlviviSwingers, the couple tweeted “I think this “halal pork for Ramadhan” stunt was the stupidest one we ever pulled. Even I had to admit it. We, were, wrong.”

On Thursday, the duo uploaded a picture earlier this week depicting them eating bak kut teh and describing it as ‘wangi, enak, menyelerakan’ (fragrant, delicious, appetising).

The picture also had a ‘halal’ logo in the corner.

They were panned online for their insensitivity and receiving a warning from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

They removed their offensive posting shortly after, replacing it with a picture of them eating ketupat, rendang and curry puffs.

However, their Facebook page had since been removed entirely.

According to their twitter, Facebook administrators had done so due to “strong negative feedback”

*************

Then the other bit which should be deemed as more serious compared to the ‘Bah Kut Teh’ prank.

The statement from Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop drew heavy flak from Malay NGOs, which believed that HRH Sultan Selangor and position of Islam are being serious insulted. Apostolic Nuncio Marino’s statement is deemed political and the Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri regarded it as a “Foreign interference”.

So, Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Marino quickly asked Foreign Minister Anifah to convey his apology.

JULY 16, 2013

The Vatican’s envoy to Malaysia today asked Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman to convey his apologies if his comments on the “Allah” issue have caused any misunderstanding and inconvenience.

Archbishop Joseph Marino said he never intended to interfere in the internal affairs of Malaysia.

The archbishop said this in a statement after he was summoned to Wisma Putra this afternoon.

Prior to the meeting today, Anifah had issued a strongly worded statement over the alleged meddling into the “Allah” controversy which he deemed to be Malaysia’s internal affair.

Archbishop Marino, in his first interview last week as the Apostolic Nuncio, the Vatican equivalent to an ambassador, had stirred controversy with his comments on the use of the word “Allah”.

He indicated that the Christian Federation of Malaysia had presented a “logical and acceptable” argument to counter the argument by Muslims that “Allah” was exclusive to Islam.

He stated his support for the stand of the Catholic Church in Malaysia and backed the arguments made by the Christian Federation of Malaysia.

Earlier today Sabah MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin, echoing calls from Malay non-governmental organisations, urged the government to “chase” Archbishop Marino from the country.

He accused the Vatican envoy of disrupting the country’s unity.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin also jumped on the bandwagon, almost repeating what Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman had said about the matter.

Khairy, speaking in his capacity as the BN Youth leader, said Wisma Putra should issue a protest note to the archbishop for purportedly supporting the use of the term “Allah” by Christians.

“It’s a national problem which is still being debated. The archbishop (Joseph Marino) is not helping the situation at all. His statement could complicate the situation.”

Muslim groups, led by Jati and Perkasa, even called for the government to close the Vatican office and “chase” Marino out of the country.

In a Press conference earlier today, leaders of both groups said Muslim groups will submit a protest note on Friday to reprimand the envoy for being “insensitive”.

They hope Archbishop Marino will personally receive the protest note at the embassy in Kuala Lumpur after Friday prayers.

The president of Muslim non-governmental organisation NGO Muafakat, Ismail Mina Ahmad, told a Malay daily over the weekend that the envoy was not a very smart person for discussing a domestic Malaysian subject which was still under the purview of the courts. – July 16, 2013.

So, eventually all the three of them apologised. Including the diplomatically immune Archbishop Marino.

Is that adequate?

Many want to see sexebitionist duo Tan and Lee be charged in court, tried and if found guilty, be punished with the severest penalty. Equal number of Muslims wanted to see Apostolic Nuncio Marino leave the country and the Apostolic Nunciature in Kuala Lumpur be closed.

They firmly believed its a matter of principle, more than sentiments and/or emotions.

The rational is simple; too many Muslims are stuffed with errant persons got away with minimal punitive recourse for insulting Islam as the religion of the Federation, the Malays and/or Muslims and role of HRH Rulers as absolute head of Islam. Its time all these three be made example as a deterent to any more potential insults against Islam, Muslims, HRH Rulers and the tradition and heritage of the Malays.

All these are enshrined the Federal Constitution. That is not withstanding the fact that freedom of expression has limits.

The funny bit to all that is that Youth and Sports Minister Khairy “KJ” Jamaluddin asked Malaysian Muslims to ‘Let bygones be bygones’ on the Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Bishop’s diplomatically outrageous statement in the interview with The Malaysian Insider published on 11 July 2013.

After Vatican envoy’s contrition, Umno Youth urges end to rumpus

July 16, 2013

PUTRAJAYA, July 16 – Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin called today for an end to the uproar surrounding Archbishop Joseph Marino’s remarks on the “Allah” controversy after the papal ambassador issued an apology this evening.

According to the Vatican embassy here, Marino told Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman in a meeting earlier today that he did not mean to intrude into Malaysia’s internal affairs and apologised for the “misunderstandings” that ensued.

“Let that be the end of the matter,” Khairy told reporters at a buka puasa (breaking of fast) function here today.

“On behalf of Umno Youth, we welcome the move and I believe that we can close the case,” he added.

Khairy, who is also the youth and sports minister, expressed hope that everyone would allow the Court of Appeal to decide on the tussle between Christians and Muslims over the word “Allah”.

“We hope that this will be a lesson to all representatives and ambassadors that on sensitive issues, or on all national matters, we hope they will not issue any statement that can be perceived as an attempt of interference,” he said.

Earlier today, Sabah MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin urged the government to expel Marino from the country, claiming that the Vatican’s first ambassador to Malaysia had interfered in the “Allah” dispute here.

Last week, Minister in charge of Islamic affairs Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom accused the Apostolic Nuncio of causing anxiety and threatening national unity.

Before his meeting with Marino today, Anifah had issued a strongly-worded statement last Sunday over the alleged meddling into the “Allah” controversy, which he deemed to be Malaysia’s internal affairs.

In his first media interview here last Thursday, Marino observed that the “Allah” storm that has been raging here for the past five years was unique to this Southeast Asian nation due to the widespread use of the Malay language, the lingua franca of Malaysia’s Bumiputera Christians.

Khairy: Act now, why wait

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth has called for stern action to be taken now against sex bloggers Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee over their posting associating Ramadan with bak kut teh.Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin (pix) said if no action was taken on the two individuals, then others could later say anything and then apologise as a settlement.
“I want to see action being taken on them and this is not the time to take statements. Why wait any longer?”Anyone who had offended the sensitivity of any religion, not only that of Islam but also the other religions should face action,” he told reporters.

The BN Youth Head gave the impression that the maximum penalty  be invoked even though the sexebitionist duo apologised. Today, he completely went on a different tone and was very quick to allow Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Marino go scott free, even though this was far serious and deeper sinister agenda.

Isn’t that inconsistent and peculiar?

Probably it is because The Malaysian Insider editorial team which started the whole ruckus by institgating the ‘kalimah Allah’ issue this round is headed by his ‘Level Four’ anti-natonalist partner-in-crime  Kalimullah “Riong Kali” Hassan’s minion. The agenda to dismantle the Malay-power is still very much active in play.

The evidence is very clear. KJ failed to hit out The Malaysian Insider for the 11 July interview, which should be deemed as a sinister agenda to inflame inter religious sentiments in a very sensitive issue, ‘kalimah Allah’. Of which, it is an on going matter in the Courts of Appeal now. KJ was also completely silent when The Malaysian Insider instigated Chirstian Cabinet Ministers to “Stand up and protect the flock”.

Just an annual UMNO assembly expression drama?

Just an annual UMNO assembly expression drama?

The fact is that KJ has never openly supported the Malay NGOs such as PERKASA, JATI, PPIM, MUAFAKAT, ISMA etc. on anything at all. Even when they were defending what have been provided and enshrined in the Federal Constitution. Particularly on matters pertaining to Islam, Muslims, HRH Rulers role as absolute head of Islam and syariah court rulings on cases like apostasy.

The Malays must be clear and reminded that KJ is UMNO Youth Head first before he is BN Youth Head and Cabinet Minister. Therefore his obligation to stand up for these issues is paramount, even though the matter is being boldly championed by Malay NGOs instead of UMNO’s supposed to be ‘aggressive wing’.

KJ has a lot of serious explanation to do. And a just mere apology is far from suffice.

Foreign Minister Anifah Aman’s statement against Archbishop Marino 15 July 2013

Late yesterday evening Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Anifah Aman issued a statement pertaining to Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Joseph Marino’s interview to The Malaysian Insider which supported Christian Federation of Malaysia’s quest to use ‘Allah’ in place of God as, “Foreign interference”. Now it seems Youth and Sports Minister Khairy “KJ” Jamaluddin wants to play ‘Hero’.

In his statement which was recorded by Bernama this evening, KJ called for Wisma Putra to send a protest note to the Vatican on this Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Marino’s outrageous statement, which Minister in-charge of Islamic Affairs Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Dato’ Seri Jamil Khir Baharom already quipped as “Causing unnecessary anxiety” on Saturday.

KJ trying to be a diplomatic hero

KJ trying to be a diplomatic hero

The “Thirteen Million Plus Ringgit” question, where was KJ when The Malaysian Insider first published the interview on 11 July 2013?

It is best that KJ stop trying to be a ‘Hero’ in other people’s turf and leave the matter be handled by the professionals and diplomatic career officers in the blue-roofed-top-of-the-hill Federal Government complex in Putrajaya.
KJ trying to be a stale media superhero

Bernama.com 15 July 2013 : KJ trying to be a stale media superhero

KJ’s call for Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission to take action  against ‘Facebook Sexibitionists’ duo Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee is also should be seen as trying to do a showboating after the boat actually left the wharf.  MCMC officers already completed their investigations earlier today and the case may already has been passed to Attorney General’s Chambers for further action.

It is unprofessional trying to get glory based on the perception of over people’s work, if not low. Unless parroting is his best trait.

Corrupta Potentia Praecipuus

FGV CEO-designate Emir Mavani

Incoming and designated FGV CEO Emir Mavani (p.k.a. Pradeeb Kumar) has already shown his susceptibility to make dubious business decisions and transactions on behalf of the Group.  This is not withstanding the tendency to flex and abuse his power even before he formally ascend the Group CEO-ship.

The exposure about his dubious “Ph.D in Government Reforms from Warnborough University, United Kingdom” already hit his credibility and integrity hard. Mavani who has since instructed that all correspondence pertaining to his name, title and qualifications be adjusted according, is said to be bent on ascending the top FGV job.

FGV has been organising a series of Global Strategy Blueprint briefings to internal stakeholders and middle management, region by region. On 27 June, it was held in Senai and 60 managers from the Southern Region attended.

On 1 July, it was held at Felda Sahabat near Lahad Datu, Sabah where 70 managers including Pengarah Seranta FELDA (Director of FELDA Liaisons, Prime Minister’s Office) were present.

The grossly inappropriate bit was that Mavani’s wife Fazdillah Mavani was said to attend these management and global strategy briefings. She is neither a member of the management team nor an employee of FGV. She is not even a hired consultant to FGV. In fact it was said that she raised a question and asked for clarification during one of these briefings.

Unless the appointment letter  as Group CEO FGV issued was for ‘Emir Mavani and Wife’.

Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission should look into this inappropriateness and the purported deal in Papua New Guinea. If it can be proven, then Mavani should be charged for abusing of position and power.

These are very serious matters. Even shareholders raised all these matters in the recent FGV AGM. Shareholders and many of the stakeholders already regard Mavani as a Persona Non Grata.

One cannot imagine what would happen to FGV from today onwards where Mavani is scheduled to take over from Tan Sri Sabri Ahmad as the Group CEO. FGV is supposed to take care the funding for continued development and CSR programs for the 114 FELDA settlements, adjacent communities and 112,635 FELDA settlers’ families.

All of these net-receivers of FGV’s going concern are spread over 54 Parliamentary constituencies and Malay heartland where contributed to the bigger chunk of BN’s powerbase in Semenanjung Malaysia and Sabah.

The confidence level on Mavani taking over from where Sabri left FGV and take care of these strategic stakeholders’ needs without abusing his position and clout for self interest is rather thin. Quod erat demonstratum.

Ludens Ignis Malitia

It seems that The Malaysian Insider is at their usual sinister best ‘playing with fire’ and making attempt to instigate and incite the Christians on the ‘Kalimah Allah’ issue. First they got the Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia HE Archbishop Joseph Marino to state his support for the Christian Federation of Malaysia’s quest to use ‘Allah’ in place of God.

That drew a lot of very serious negative reactions from the Malay NGOs.In fact, the demand is for a diplomatic action against the Apostolic Nunciature in Kuala Lumpur.

Now, they manipulate to resort by demanding the Christians who are in power and members of the Federal Government executive, especially the Bumiputera from Sabah and Sarawak to stand up for the ‘Kalimah Allah’ issue.

Time the Christian politicians protected their flock

JULY 14, 2013

NEWS ANALYSIS – Datuk Seri Idris Jala. Tan Sri Joseph Kurup. Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili. Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum. Datuk Joseph Belaun. Datuk Seri Douglas Unggah. Datuk Dr Ewon Ebin. Datuk Richard Riot. Datuk Mary Yap…

These names have several things in common: they are either ministers or deputy ministers in the Najib administration, represent constituencies in Sabah or Sarawak and are Christians.

Yes, they are Catholics, Protestants, Evangelical, and are members of Sidang Injil Borneo but do not expect any of them to lead the charge and defend the position of their faith in public.

Indeed, there is a better chance of there being four seasons in Malaysia than any Christian representative resigning from government on a matter of principle, say, because the administration going back on its word on the use of the word Allah by East Malaysians. Or even taking the fight to right-wing groups who in the past few years have threatened Christians.

They are ensconced in nice and comfortable positions of power and prefer others to do the heavy lifting.

So it is left to the various church leaders and even some non-Christian elected representatives to protect the constitutional right of freedom of worship and ensure fairness in public policies.

Think about it. When the controversy arose over the hurried Bill that allowed the conversion of children to Islam based on the consent of one parent, did you hear loud protests from Idris and gang? Or was it the Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz who reminded his own colleagues that it was unconscionable to force through legislation which was unfair and once rejected by the Cabinet in 2009?

To be fair, even MCA’s president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek went public with his displeasure over the proposed law, noting that the BN component party would not support its passage through Parliament.

The Bill has since been withdrawn, thanks to the principled positions taken by the likes of Nazri, Pakatan Rakyat and religious groups.

Now let’s move on to the more vexatious issue of the use of the word “Allah’’ by Christians. And this is where the silence of the Christian elected representatives is deafening, taking into the account this simple fact: 60 per cent of Malaysian Christians only speak Bahasa Malaysia and have done so since 1731.

The word Allah is used mainly by Christians in Sabah and Sarawak. In short, mainly constituents who voted for Messrs Kurup, Unggah and Riot into power use it.

East Malaysian Christians were allowed to use the word Allah for centuries until the then Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar prohibited its use, leading the Catholic Church to commence legal proceedings against the government.

In 2011, the High Court allowed the Catholic Church to use the word Allah. The government’s appeal against the decision will be before the courts soon.

But in the run-up to the Sarawak state elections in 2011, the Najib government made conciliatory moves, releasing the infamous 10-point resolution to issues faced by the Christian community.

Among other things, the 10-point solution allowed the importation of Malay-language Bibles or Al-Kitab. The 10-point solution was seen as a short-term solution as it did not address a couple of important issues: the prohibition of the use of the word Allah in Christian publications and the continued classification of the Malay-language bible as prejudicial to national security.

Mind you, Idris Jala was a key player in the 10-point solution initiative but he melted into the background when the then Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein suggested that the government plan was only a work in progress.

Since then, it has been clear that Prime Minister Najib Razak and his colleagues have decided that the word Allah cannot be used by non-Muslims. He said so in an interview with Al-Jazeera a few days before GE13.

And what did the likes of the Christian politicians do when they watched the interview or read transcripts? Zilch. Nothing. Business as usual.

Once again, church leaders had to clear the smog over the issue and come into the line of fire.

The Christian Federation of Malaysia has said that in the Malay language, Allah means God and Tuhan means Lord. Both God and Lord are used in the Bible and have different connotations. Allah cannot be substituted by Tuhan and by doing so, Bahasa-Malaysia speaking Christians will not be able to affirm the deity of Jesus Christ and teach the doctrine of the Trinity, said the federation recently.

“If churches in Malaysia agree to stop using the word “Allah’’, it means that the right to edit the Scripture of a major world religion has been given over to a secular government,” it added.

The usual argument put forward by elected representatives of minority groups is that it is more effective to work quietly behind the scenes and not take a public position on controversial issues. A whole lot of good that approach did in fighting off the proposed conversion law.

It is quite clear that the quiet diplomacy of the Christian representatives in that instance failed miserably. In fact, by keeping quiet and not bringing the pulse of their constituents to the knowledge of the PM, these leaders are doing the government a great disservice because it creates the impression that only a handful of noisy Christians feel strongly about the Al-kitab or Allah issue.

Similarly, what did the Christian Cabinet ministers and deputy ministers do when Perkasa and Jati attacked the Vatican envoy for stating in moderate tones his support for the use of the word Allah by Christians here?

Precious little.

At some point you have to decide what is more important: the chauffeur-driver car and bodyguard or standing up for your faith and beliefs.

Or perhaps, it is time their constituents in Sabah and Sarawak send them a major message. – July 14, 2013.

**********

They should be reminded that the Federal Constitution stated that Islam is the religion of the Federation of Malaysia and professing Christianity to Muslims and protelysation is against the law.

The intention of several Church leaders and representatives of Christian NGOs to demand and formally challenge ‘kalimah Allah’ be used in place of God is about the distribution of Malay bibles and having Christianity sermons to the Malays in Semenanjung Malaysia.

Al Kitab; The Malay bible

Al Kitab; The Malay bible

One of HRH Rulers already made a decree that “Non Muslims are barred from the use of ‘Allah’ in place of God and the sacred word is exclusive for the Muslims only”, which is based on a fatwa by the National Fatwa Council.

Going against all these provisions and facts with the ill intent to create ill feelings, anger and probably attempts to distabilise understanding and harmony between races and believers should be seen as an act of sedition.

It is time that the Police and authorities investigate The Malaysian Insider under the Sedition Act 1948.

Tutup Kedutaan Vatican City

JULY 13, 2013

Vatican City Ambassador to Malaysia Archbishop Joseph Marino should not have issued the statement on the use of the word ‘Allah’ as it has created anxiety among the public and can threaten unity among Malaysians, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said.

He said such a statement should not be made by any quarters to respect the sensitivity of Muslims in the country.

“The religious tolerance in this country should be taken into account by all quarters when issuing statements that could be interpreted as disrupting racial harmony in Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.

He said the National Fatwa Council had issued a ruling that the word “Allah” was specially for use by Muslims in the country and should not be abused by any quarters.

“I advise all quarters to not make a polemic of the issue on the word Allah until a decision is made by the court,” he added.

A coalition of Malay Muslims non-governmental organisations had yesterday called on the government to “chase away” the ambassador for issuing the statement. – Bernama, July 13, 2013

*************

It is a serious matter because HE Archbishop Marino’s statement should be seen as insulting HRH Rulers, who are absolute head of Islam and already made decree that “Non Muslims are barred from using the ‘Allah’ in place of God and the word is sacred and exclusive to Muslims only”. This decree is based on the fatwa by the National Fatwa Council.

Even PAS Ulamaks agreed that HE Archbishop Marino “Has no business to speak on matters which may affect the sensitivity of Muslims”.

Instead, Malaysian Church leaders demonstrated that they failed to be Malaysians and adhere to the Federal Constitution and State Constitution where position of Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia and position and role HRH Rulers are clearly provided.

They continue to show their insensitivity and arrogance if not disobedience as citizens by calling that HE Archbishop Marino should not apologise but instead Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak to take a stand against Malay NGOs like PERKASA and JATI.

The Malaysian Insider story:

Bishop calls for Najib to take stand against Perkasa, Jati

BY ELIZABETH ZACHARIAH

JULY 13, 2013

Najib, seen here at a Christmas party last year, must stand up to the extreme comments from groups like Perkasa and Jati, say local Christian leaders. The Malaysian Insider pic,

July 13, 2013. Christians have had enough of the bashing from the likes of Perkasa and other Malay rights groups. They expect Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to intervene and “do the right thing” by rejecting such extremism.

This was the stand of the president of the Council of Churches Malaysia, Bishop Philip Lok. He was speaking to The Malaysian Insider in the wake of the demands by Perkasa and Jati that the Vatican’s envoy Archbishop Joseph Marino withdraw his support for the local church’s campaign to use the word Allah and that he must apologise within seven days.

The vocal rights groups have demanded that the government shut down the Vatican’s embassy and banish Marino if he does not apologise.

They were reacting to the Archbishop’s comments in an interview with local media that though he recognised that the ongoing court case on the Allah issue was an internal matter, he supported the position taken by the Christian Federation of Malaysia that Allah was a word for god in the Christian religion too.

Bishop Lok said that it was time the government took action against Perkasa and Jati for trying to disrupt diplomatic ties between Malaysia and the Vatican.

“We appreciate that two years ago the Prime Minister had established ties with the Vatican. He has worked hard for that. Does he want to jeopardise the good relationship that he has fostered with them over the years?” he asked.

He urged Najib to do the “right thing and reject extremism”.

“He should put an end to this and not succumb to their demands. The people of Malaysia have had enough of this.”

Referring to the rights groups, he added: “They have been saying all sorts of things against the Christians, in particular. This is no different.

“But the Government is not seen to be taking any action against these people who have been causing religious tension in the country.”

He added that the Prime Minister must ensure that his promise of national reconciliation not just remain words.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) deputy president Jagir Singh said Marino had no reason to retract his statement as he was speaking the truth.

Referring to the calls for a retraction, Mr Singh said: “It is not fair to ask him to do that. It is his right. The Archbishop’s stand is correct.”

Catholic Bishop Paul Tan said that he was shocked at the reaction of the two Malay rights NGOs, noting that the Vatican envoy’s remarks “should not be seen as an interference in Malaysia’s internal affairs any more than the demand at some embassies in Kuala
Lumpur recently that our government reject the goings-on in Egypt and Syria constitutes interference in those nations’ affairs’’.

The head of the Catholic Church in the Malacca-Johor diocese described Perkasa and Jati’s demands as “gimmicky sabre-rattling”.

He told Malaysiakini: “Rash talk is cheap especially on the part of those who do not have the responsibility.

“Former Plantation Industries and Commodities minister Tan Sri Bernard Dompok said Perkasa has gone way too far in their demand.

“To ask an ambassador to leave… that is just unbelievable.

“Groups in this country have also commented on what happens in other countries. I don’t see what’s wrong,” he added.

However, Dompok was certain that the statements by Jati and Perkasa would not affect the relationshi[p between Malaysia and the Vatican.

“I believe the ties between both sovereign countries are stronger than this,” he said. – July 13, 2013

****************

This is not a surprise because Church leaders, which include the Roman Catholic Church have been very political. One of the more stinging one is Bishop Paul Tan. He also tried to make the 5 May 2013 polling day as a political controversy. These are some of the clear examples that the Roman Catholic Church has become a political organ instead of a house of worship.

The fact is that  Malay NGOs PERKASA, JATI, PPIM, MUAFAKAT, ISMA and others which include individuals in the likes of retired Court of Appeal Judge Dato’ Mohd. Noor Abdullah and retired Director General of Education Dato’ Wira Abdul Rahman Arshad are standing up for what ever have been provided and principled in the Federal Constitution. Nothing more.

Neither are any of them are anti-Christians now nor ever have been.

Unless proven, Malay NGOs in the likes of PERKASA, JATI, PPIM and MUAFAKAT have never been pre-emptive nor provocative on sensitive issues pertaining their stance on Islam, HRH Rulers and position and interests of the Malays. Their reaction on provocations and/or challenges are often manipulated as the aggressors and the minority they represented then conveniently be pictured as ‘victims’ and/or ‘minority under majority oppression’.

In short, these Malay NGOs are just exercising the demand for “Constitutional obligation to defend the position of Islam”.

Position and roles of HRH Rulers and Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia are underlying fundamentals for the birth of this nation and utmost important provisions in the Federal Constitution. These, along other provisions such as Special Malay Rights and Malay as national language are some the articles provided in the Federation of Malaya Treaty which was inked on 21 January 1948 between HRH Rulers and the British Government. The treaty became the basis when the Federal Constitution was drafted.

Perjanjian Persekutuan Tanah Melayu

Perjanjian Persekutuan Tanah Melayu 21 Jan 1948

There was no provision for the allowance of religion other than Islam in that treaty. For a matter of fact, only the Malays were recognised as “Subjects of HRH Rulers”.

At the dawn of the formation of Federation of Malaya, HRH Rulers agreed to compromise based on the conditions as per provided in the Federation of Malaya Treaty on the principle of admission of Non Malays as citizens. Almost 1 million Non Malays, mostly would not have qualified to be citizens were admitted as equals and accorded with rights in the new born nation and member of the Commonwealth.

Hence, the religion of the Non Malays are allowed to be practiced as long as it does not contravene and/or encroached into the interests and position of Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaya (Now Malaysia). These are the basis of the ‘Social Contract’ which many especially the Non Malays today are trying to deny for its spirit and decisions made.

The rights of the Non Malays as citizens then or now are not carte blanche, where they are free to say or demand anything. Especially on ‘special’ matters such as position and interest of Islam as the religion as the Federation of Malaysia. Overstepping these boundaries would just invite trouble and Malay NGOs such as PERKASA, JATI etc. exist for this purpose.

Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia Archbishop Joseph Salvador Marino

What HE Archbishop Marino did was totally out of line as his role in the capacity of Apostolic Nuncio. It cannot be considered as faux pas because he is seasoned diplomat. He insulted HRH Sultan Selangor’s decree, the fatwa made by National Fatwa Council and disrespect a case where the matter is being the process of appeal in the Malaysian courts system.

Unless, HE Archbishop Marino consciously utter the support as part of a sinister political agenda. This should also include that the Vatican is indirectly if not very supportive the agenda of protelysation of Malay-Muslims in Malaysia.

It is time for Prime Minister Najib to demonstrate whether he is a man of principle or prefer to pander to popularism, especially to  the different groups ungrateful and disobedient minority with the same sinister agenda.

Joe Marino’s mission to Kuala Lumpur, political?

Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia Archbishop Joseph Salvador Marino

Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia HE Archbishop Joseph Salvador Marino recent statement the interview to pro-Opposition portal The Malaysian Insider on supporting Christian Federation of Malaysia’s intention to use kalimah ‘Allah’ in place of God has been deemed totally insensitive and outrageous. Malay NGOs demanded he retracted the statement or risk being asked to leave.

The “Thirteen Million Plus Ringgit” question is, was the statement intentional as his presence and role in this country is as a diplomat first?

If it wasn’t intentional, then HE Archbishop Marino should retract his statement and openly apologise. It is deemed necessary as HRH Sultan Selangor in January issued a decree that “Non Muslims are barred from using the word ‘Allah’ and it is a sacred word exclusively for the Muslims”.

Non-Muslims can’t use ‘Allah’

SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor has decreed that non-Muslims in the state have been barred from using “Allah”, saying it is a sacred word exclusive to Muslims.

A statement yesterday from Selangor Islamic Affairs Council (Mais) secretary Datuk Mohd Misri Idris said Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah had expressed shock and regret over DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng’s recent statement urging the Government to allow the word “Allah” to be used in the Malay version of the Bible.

Lim, who is the Penang Chief Minister, had stated this in his New Year message.

The Ruler had called for an emergency meeting with officials of Mais, the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) and the Selangor mufti on Sunday.

“The Sultan made a decision and decreed that the word Allah’ is a sacred word specific to Muslims and it is prohibited to be used by any non-Muslim in Selangor, as stated in a fatwa and gazetted on Feb 18, 2010,” Mohd Misri said.

“Tuanku is disappointed that the decree had been taken lightly by some parties until the issue was brought up again,” he said, adding that the Sultan also stated that Mais and Jais could take stern action against anyone who questions the fatwa that was issued according to state laws.

The Ruler’s decree came ahead of a Pakatan Rakyat meeting at which the word “Allah” had been allowed to be used by even non-Muslims.

However, if it was intentional then it should be deemed political.

It should not come as a surprise because Marino was born an American. As someone who hails from Alabama, it is a typical ‘Red-Neck’ and Southerner country. Moreover, He Archbishop Marino is not new in the international politics and diplomacy game. In fact, he is a seasoned diplomat and player in the international politics game.

He was a member of the Vatican delegation sent by Pope John Paul II to Belgrade on April 1, 1999, at the height of the Kosovo conflict. He was also part of a delegation sent to the White House before the 2003 start of the war in Iraq. HE Archbishop Marino also served as Apostolic Nuncio to Bangladesh for four years, where domestic politics such as the Chittagong Hill Tracts conflict was part of his interest and agenda.

Of course the usual excuse he is playing ‘the cleric in the mission of peace’ role. There is also a possibility he could also be part of an international political ring of operatives, acting on behalf for Neo Con Jews and the sinister agenda to rule and control the world, directly and indirectly via proxies.

After all, Pope John Paul II was for a very important and experienced international political personality. He was undoubtedly an integral part of the Western backed international ring of political operatives which brought Communism down and dismantled the ‘Iron Curtain’.

HE Archbishop Marino could probably be part of the international political support group in their strategic agenda to undermine and eventually dismantle the Muslim power in favour of the minority. Especially the Malay-Muslims are the most progressive and globally most influential group of Muslims. It is imperative that the Malay-Muslims are being made subservient to the Anglo-New Con Jewish international agenda in someway or another.

If that was true, then it makes perfect sense why he is supporting the CFM quest, which is strongly supported by Chinese Chauvinists DAPsters and anti Malay politicians such as Lim Guan Eng, Teresa Kok and Nga Kor Ming.

Let us conveniently forget the incident of two Ramadans ago where JAIS discovered that Damansara Utama Methodist Church was protelysing Malays into Christianity. Probably it is not part of the Catholic Church where HE Archbishop Marino belong to and represent but getting Malay-Muslims to become Christians of any sect is part of realising the international political agenda.

It has been proven that DAP used the church and evangelists for their sordid political agenda. Also part of the anti-Malay agenda.

It is clear that they were very defensive on the DUMC controversy and combative on the JAIS discovery of the protelysation activities. There on, they use political platforms to manipulate any actions taken against what ever and whenever any attempts to weed out any protelysation of the Malays is taken.

After all, the main objective to use kalimah ‘Allah’ in place for God is to allow Malays bibles. Undoubtedly, that is all about protelysation of the Malays into Christianity.

Without doubt too, there is an international ring of support  groups and all the NGO masquarades which suspiciously include international church organisations present and actively supporting the ‘Politics of Hatred’ strategy by some deviant minority in this country. This is not withstanding their role be it indirectly, which came as part of warning in the form of  HRH Rulers’s own titah against freedom of interpreting Christianity towards Malay-Muslims.

If it is true that HE Archbishop Marino has a political agenda, then he is playing no different game than what former US Ambassador John R. Malott once did. At least, Malott did not insult any of HRH Rulers’ decree nor the sentiments on the position of Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia.
