Quad erat demonstratum

The cat is finally out of the bag. Fourth Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad actually wanted to comeback to power as the Seventh Prime Minister, as he admitted to his Facebook fans live through the social media interactive engagement earlier today.

Dr M: I may be forced to consider becoming PM again

PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says he “may be forced to consider” becoming prime minister again if such a plan is proposed by his friends in the Opposition.

In a live question-and-answer session hosted on his official Facebook page, the former prime minister answered five questions, two of which related to a possible return to premiership.

Titled #HangTanyaCheDetJawab (You Ask, Che Det Answers), Dr Mahathir was asked if he would agree to taking on the role of prime minister if asked by the rakyat themselves.

“I cannot ignore my friends in Pakatan Harapan. If they have such a suggestion and it is agreed upon, then I might be forced to consider. At this time, I don’t agree to be prime minister….at this time,” he said.

Dr Mahathir also reminded viewers that he had said he would not become prime minister again once he had retired in 2003.

Asked about the role he would take on instead, the 91-year-old said upon retiring, he thought his opinion would at least be sought by the ruling party on certain matters or problems.

This is because he had “lots of experience and knowledge that might be useful”, having served as prime minister for 22 years.

Dr Mahathir also professed himself “ready to take part in discussions to find solutions for problems faced”, if given the chance to offer his opinion after the 14th general election.

Asked what he would do to help the rakyat and the country’s economy if he was “fated to be Prime Minister again”, Dr Mahathir said he had a certain approach to handling problems during his premiership.

The fact is that the situation of “I cannot ignore my friends in Pakatan Harapan. If they have such a suggestion and it is agreed upon, then I might be forced to consider” isn’t really an option.

It is because PKR President Wan Azizah Wan Ismail outright admitted she is ready to assume the Premiership for an interregnum period till her convict husband Anwar Ibrahim is out and legally ready to take over.

“I don’t mind”, she used the recent so called independent poll that Anwar is the most popular to become prime minister.

“Mahathir came to us. We didn’t ask him to join us. He joined us out of his own free will”, Wan Azizah responded to Mehdi Hassan on Al Jazeera interview show ‘Upfront’ in early May.

A week ago, Dr. Mahathir was fast to state that Anwar is one of the candidates considered to be prime minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the upcoming 14GE.

Hence, all the notion about “Saving UMNO” to “Saving Malaysia” the past twenty five months of outright attacks against Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak is nothing but absolute bollocks!

Dr Mahathir used all the books in the trick to hoodwink the rakyat, including using the Rulers’ Council to achieve his political means. He was very impatient to oust Prime Minister Najib, even using undemocratic means.

It is all about he wanted power, because all along he had the intention of doing it by proxy or franchised. First, it was through Fifth Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and when it is clear that his successor was not toeing the line he had drawn, he attacked and intended to ouster his former Foreign Minister.

Then he threw support around Prime Minister Najib. He hoped Prime Minister Najib went along what he wanted to see. Dr. Mahathir even masked his intention to be the ‘puppet master’ with the notion of the ‘President’s Council’ be set up for ‘advisory purposes’.

However, Dr Mahathir had other intention and behaved exactly like his arch nemesis Lee Kuan Yew, who called the last shot on anything regarding Singapore. The distinction is that no proper office created for Dr. Mahathir, unlike Senior Minister and later Minister Mentor Lee.
