MKini story:
‘Dr M to deliver final message at Malay Congress due to threats from hypocrites’
Sep 29th, 2019
(Updated Sep 29th, 2019)Bersatu supreme council leader Dr Muhammad Faiz Bin Na’aman said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad intends to deliver a “final message” at the upcoming Malay Dignity Congress next month in the face of “hypocrites” sowing slander and provocation that threatens to undermine national unity.
“Allegations after allegations have been hurled against Mahathir who continues to work hard for the people and country.
“While the international community, particularly the Muslim world, admires his leadership, but there are Malay hypocrites that continue to slander and insult him for political gain.
“This is the real face of Malaysian politics today. We are at a crossroads that will determine if the people’s unity will be ruined or that we move towards development that is enjoyed by all.
“Bloodshed could happen at any time due to the spread of slander, provocation and incitement on social media by irresponsible quarters,” he said in a statement today.
For these reasons, Faiz said Mahathir is seeking to address the Malay community.
“Cognisant that the strength of our national unity is under threat, Mahathir has called for all Malaysians who are Malay and Muslims, regardless of political ideologies, NGOs, corporate people or private individuals, to attend the Malay Dignity Congress on Oct 6 to hear the ‘final’ message from our legendary statesman,” he added.
Faiz (photo) said while divisions within the Malay community due to ideological differences is normal, but there are those capitalising on this to create provocations along racial, state and religious lines. He said those responsible are bent on doing so after being rejected by the people in the last general election for being corrupt and betraying the people’s mandate.
“They are surely desperate to return to power after filling their cronies’ bellies and their own for decades and exploiting Malay and Muslim sentiment on the political arena.
“In fact, the one who is most satiated is Jho Low, who was the business partner to ‘Bossku’ who is worshipped by his party extremes,” he said, in apparent reference to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Faiz said these quarters are parroting the message that Malays and Muslims have lost power, that the DAP is in control, that Pakatan Harapan has broken its promises.“The fraudulent fighters are once again trying to fool Malays and Muslims by claiming that they are defending Islam and bumiputera, that they are the only hope and there is no alternative,” he added.
He said they are using the name of “Muslim unity” to shield leaders who are now being investigated for corruption and other crimes.
As such, Faiz said Mahathir will try to address these challenges.
The event is organised by Pusat Kecemerlangan Melayu Akademi Pengajian Melayu Universiti Malaya.
The congress will discuss issues involving education, religion, culture, politics and the economy from a Malay perspective.
The event will be held on Oct 6 at the Axiata Arena Stadium in collaboration with UTM, Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Sultan Idris Education University.

This statement came after MCA Vice President Dato’ Seri Ti Liang Ker highlighted that the National Cooperation Charter inked by UMNO and PAS Presidents were inclusive of taking other ethnic groups forward, which is in tandem with the Federal Constitution.
Ti is also attacking DAP particularly Emperorissimo of Chinese Chauvinists Lim Kit Siang and Mini Emperorissimo of Chinese Chauvinist Lim Guan Eng on the Kongress supposedly to address the ‘Dignity of the Malays’.
Its either being challenged or has to be redeemed, especially after Pakatan Harapan took over as the helm of the nation, which is damning to the Perpaduan, a bedrock of stability that provided the room and opportunity of nation building and progress.
Mkini story:
MCA veep says Dr M attending Malay congress will aggravate tensions
Sep 28th, 2019
(Updated Sep 28th, 2019)MCA vice-president Ti Lian Ker today said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s planned attendance at the Malay Dignity Congress next month could aggravate tensions in a multiracial country.
Ti questioned if Pakatan Harapan was playing the race card at a time when “PAS and Umno are talking of inclusiveness and upholding the spirit and intent of the Federal Constitution”.
“It is ironic that PAS and Umno are now talking of Muafakat Nasional (National Cooperation) without impairing the position and rights of other ethnic and religious groups, but the Harapan government and Bersatu leaders are promoting a Malay phobia of ‘Malay dignity’ camouflaged by public universities,” he said in a statement today.
Ti also prodded the DAP to advise the prime minister on the matter.
“The prime minister’s proposed attendance of a congress to talk about ‘Malay Dignity’ reeks of the ‘Ketuanan Melayu‘ (Malay supremacy) years of which DAP had strongly condemned in the past.
“It is ironic to see them (DAP) turning a deaf ear and a blind eye by remaining on a ‘mute’ mode to this development.
“The attendance of their ‘top dog’ would cause or aggravate the tension and caused further uneasiness to the multiracial society of Malaysia that is now emerging under the New Malaysia government,” he said.Ti said Mahathir must be reminded that he is the prime minister for all Malaysians and not just a Malay leader.
“He should not be seen to be endorsing a racial divide but instead propose, support and encourage a congress of national unity and dignity for all Malaysians instead,” he said.
The Malay Dignity Congress is expected to take place at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, next month.Event organiser Pusat Kecemerlangan Melayu Akademi Pengajian Melayu Universiti Malaya confirmed that Mahathir would attend and deliver a “mandate”.
The centre’s director Hashim Ismail, however, said Mahathir would be present “not as prime minister but as a Malay leader”.
Hashim said the congress will discuss issues involving education, religion, culture, politics and the economy from a Malay perspective.
The event will be held on Oct 6 at the Axiata Arena Stadium in collaboration with UTM, Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Sultan Idris Education University.

One of the senior activist of the Kongres Maruah Melayu former VC of UM Prof Dr Hashim Ali
FMT story:
Kongres Maruah Melayu bukan mahu saingi himpunan ummah Umno-PAS, kata penganjur
Adam Abu Bakar –

The senior and junior Lims and other Chinese Chauvinist DAP leaders have been completely silent about this Kongress Maruah Melayu.
However, they have attacked UMNO and PAS getting closer together cooperate to a point of calling them as “Talibans”.
Malaysiakini story:
Deputy minister agrees M’sia could be ‘Taliban state’ if Umno-PAS wins GE15
Mar 13th, 2019
(Updated Mar 13th, 2019)
Ng Xiang YiDeputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Chong Chieng Jen has backed DAP deputy secretary-general Nga Kor Ming’s remark that the Umno-PAS union could lead to Malaysia becoming a Taliban state.
Chong said the political collaboration between the two parties would constitute a threat to the entire country as a result of their propagation of race and religious-based politics.
“The cooperation of PAS and Umno is not only a threat to Pakatan Harapan, but also a threat to our country.
“As we can see, from the propaganda they advocated in the past two by-elections, they are going along racial and religious issues.
“I agree, to a certain extent, what was commented by Nga, that there is a possibility of the country heading towards becoming Taliban country if PAS and Umno cooperate and win the next general election,” he said when speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
The Stampin MP also expressed his disappointment with BN component party members MIC and MCA for going along with Umno and PAS in this new working relationship.Umno and PAS, the two largest Malay-based parties in the country, had formalised ties earlier this month after working together in several by-elections that have taken place since the May general election in 2018, most effectively in the recent Cameron Highlands and Semenyih polls.
He added that was why Amanah did not side with Umno and PAS, as the Harapan component party, initially a splinter party from PAS, did not view Islam as a religion which “sowed hatred and enmity”.
On March 6, Lim issued a statement in Chinese urging MCA to immediately leave BN because Umno and PAS were now “declaring war” on non-Muslims.
He later issued a correction several hours later, which replaced the phrase “declaring war” with “targeting.”
Inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said on Tuesday that a total of 58 police reports had been lodged nationwide against the DAP secretary-general and police have opened an investigation paper on the matter.
Nga, who is also Teluk Intan MP, had employed the analogy – that Malaysia was at risk of becoming like Afghanistan under Taliban rule – during a ceramah in Taiping last Friday.
This led to Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki labelling him the nephew of late Malayan Communist Party leader Chin Peng.
Asyraf later apologised for his remark, but demanded that Nga apologise for the Taliban claim.
Non-Muslim reactions not ‘unnatural’
Meanwhile, Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad said Umno and PAS had invited comments such as Nga’s Taliban remark and Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng’s initial “war declaration” statement due to claims the two parties had been making against the non-Muslim community.
The federal territories minister, who was speaking in the Parliament lobby today, added that such reactions were not “unnatural or abnormal”.
He said: “Those (Lim’s and Nga’s) are individual opinions. (But) that is the environment they (Umno and PAS) created when they use phrases like the country is in danger, threatened by the non-Muslims, hence their call is to unite the Malay-Muslims to face the threats of the non-Muslims.
“So when they make such a call, it isn’t wrong for non-Muslims to assume that the unity (of Umno and PAS) is one based on hatred towards the non-Muslims.”
He said: “[…] It is not unnatural for the non-Muslims to feel this is a Taliban-style kind of movement.”********
There are some interesting contradiction in the run up of this Kongres Maruah Melayu
- If all of strategic importance to the Malays are eroding to a point it is so challenging, isn’t the Prime Minister is Malay, the Deputy Prime Minister is Malay and more than half of the Cabinet members are Malay-Bumiputera aware of it, that they had to get the pressure group of Malay intelligentsia in the form of those in the academia to front it?
- Isn’t this a political agenda trying to be poorly guised as coming from the academia?
- Isn’t is obvious that the individuals who are the primary proponent of this event are PPBM leaders who are trying to make their mark to Gerontocracy Prime Minister after frogging themselves from UMNO as a bad after thought, without the ground shifting together with them and propping Pakatan Harapan’s most precarious partner?
- How would the outcome from this Kongress Maruah Melayu be effectively rolled out even in the notion of protecting the Malay interests when the current Parliament XVI is most precarious in terms of power and bargaining chips for the Malays?
Unless one of the outcome is the UMNO-PAS Cooperation, which is the mainstay of the Malay power at the moment either go into effective partnership with PPBM (since it is clear that UMNO and PAS outright stated their rejection of PKR, DAP and PAN totally and unconditionally!) or form a new political partnership.
However, it must come unconditionally as at the moment, UMNO and PAS already gotten four times more popularity from the grassroots and compared to PPBM and PAN.
Otherwise this Kongress Maruah Melayu would just be academic and providing platform for Gerontocracy Prime Minister to do a ‘last round political theatric’ instead of ‘last amanat’.
Coincidentally, it has been said that Gerontocracy Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir would launch his ‘Shared Prosperity Vision’ to replace the ‘Vision 2020’ the day before the Kongress Maruah Melayu.
It would be very interesting what resolutions and demands which derived from a series of discourse and intelligentsia discourse separately on Politics, Education, Economy, Culture and Religion by respective custodian Unis as a precursor to the plenary session and that would be presented at the Kongress Maruah Melayu
Will the real ‘hypocrites’ please stand up?

‘M’ for Muafakat
The ‘National Cooperation Charter’ to formalising the kick off the largest Malay political parties inked between UMNO and PAS Presidents at PWTC this afternoon would see the change of Malay hinterland politics-administration, with the inclusion of UMNO into PAS controlled states’ administration in the near future.
The Star story:
Hadi: We have plans to include Umno in Terengganu and Kelantan
It is a landmark political cooperation for the Malays effectively rolled out under UMNO under President Dato Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PAS President Tuan Guru Dato Seri Hj Abd Hadi Awang since the mega anti-ICERD Rally on 8 Dec 2018, which saw over 300,000 people congregated and demonstrated in Dataran Merdeka.
The National Co-operation Charter which was inked by UMNO President Dr Ahmad Zahid and PAS President Hj Hadi, is an effective progress of the series of consultations, meetings and cooperation fostered between the two leaders and their associates since 16 July 2019.
Of course, it was effectively rolled out at the Cameron Highlands, Semenyih and Rantau by-ejections which saw an increased BN performance with the direct co-operation by PAS and its election machiery.
At the Himpunan Perpaduan Ummah at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon saw over 35,000 people at its peak, predominantly Malays, thronged and packed the UMNO HQ convention complex.
It is a new Malaysian history being made. Needless to mention, a record for PWTC.
Amongst other objectives, the formalisation of the political co-operation between UMNO and PAS would translate to the support of the Malays, particularly in the hinterland being consolidated.
At the 14GE, UMNO obtained 2.525 million votes and PAS obtained 2.032 million votes.
Even by comparison either UMNO or PAS on their own, the Malay parties within Pakatan Harapan, PPBM and PAN, could only managed 718,000 and 655,000 votes respectively.
It is interesting that PAS only managed to secure 18 Parliamentary seats, considering the popular votes they obtained.
DAP, which obtained 2.098 million votes managed to win 42 Parliamentary seats. Despite securing most Parliamentary seats within PH with 49, PKR only obtained 2.046 million popular votes, which is only a tad more over PAS’s.
The strategic importance of the charter inked is that UMNO went into the political co-operation PAS with the syndication of BN’s coalition partners MCA and MIC.
The Star story:
And The Malay Mail Online:
Even though it is believed that MCA and MIC still managed to retain their token Parliamentary seats with support from the Malays who are susceptible to UMNO’s politics, the BN coalition partners have their respective strength.
MCA obtained 653,000 and MIC obtained 167,000 popular votes respectively.
UMNO would never abandoned its partnership for new partners, but instead harness and capitalise on the strength. Especially, the history of the partnership that brought the nation to present position.
Using the 9 May 2019 results as a basis, BN plus PAS could derive to 5.4 million votes, all and sundry. Coupled with the appalling non delivery of PH with their failed promises and incompetency, a shift of 5% of votes obtained by PH to ‘BN Plus’ could translate to 5.65 million popular votes.

This is a new instrument of a fresh political deal for Malaysia.
The past track record of BN in the stability, development and prosperity of the nation, now coupled with the comeback of a partner of the original coalition in 1973, is the way to move forward.
There is now a new speculation that Parti Muafakat Nasional be formed and members are Barisan Nasional (UMNO/MCA/MIC) and PAS.
The formal political organisation could be the fresh ingredients to offer for Malaysia to move forward, based on over 65 years of effective political partnership and progress.
Muafakat Nasional would be a new deal for Sabah and Sarawak parties to align themselves, for the greater good of Malaysia.
