Ready for the Charge

It is the best time to charge and run against the Opposition, getting them to put their money where their mouth is in the disarray and confession of them being a team which was all along taken as ‘Marriage-of-(in)convenience-between-backstabbing-strange-bedfellows’.

UMNO Deputy President Dato Sri Mohamad Hj Hasan iterated the call that the 15GE be called quite soon, to capitalise the fragmented Opposition pact of Pakatan Harapan.

The Malaysian Insight story:

Mat Hasan urges Muhyiddin to call for snap election

PRIME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin should immediately dissolve parliament and call for an election, said Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan.

This is in tandem to what UMNO President Dato‘ Sri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said three weeks ago that Muafakat Nasional is ready for a general election (GE).

The Star story:

We are ready for GE15, says Zahid

PETALING JAYA: Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says his party is ready for the 15th General Election as political uncertainty in the country grows.

“We are ready for GE15. Are you ready to be with us?” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (June 3).

While Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is the Prime Minister, former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has ramped up attacks on him, signalling a split in the party and that another power struggle is on the cards.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad recently insisted he was still Bersatu chairman following his ouster from the party.

Talk of several more Bersatu lawmakers aligning themselves with Dr Mahathir comes after Bersatu had terminated the memberships of the former premier and four other Bersatu MPs from the party on May 28.

Dr Mahathir and four other Bersatu MPs were issued termination letters by the party following their move to sit in the Opposition bench during the one-day Dewan Rakyat meeting on May 18.

Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainuddin, who is also Home Minister, insists that Dr Mahathir and the four other former Bersatu leaders had terminated their memberships of their own volition and were not expelled.

He said the five terminated their membership because they went against the party constitution, adding that they would now have to ask permission if they want to come to the Bersatu headquarters.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal reiterated Hamzah’s stand, adding that the move to oust the five former leaders was done to strengthen and stabilise Bersatu as well as the Perikatan government.

UMNO President Ahmad Zahid is following Sun Tzu’s ‘Art of War’ principle of:

So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike what is weak

And

Engage people with what they expect; it is what they are able to discern and confirms their projections. It settles them into predictable patterns of response, occupying their minds while you wait for the extraordinary moment — that which they cannot anticipate.

Deputy President Mohamad is also taking a cue from Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who has called for early elections to obtain a strong mandate, Mohamad tells Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yasin.

Prime Minister Lee called for GE almost a year to the full term as the moment, Singapore and Singaporeans have not braced the peaked effect and full brunt of the global economic crisis arisen from the Covid-19 Pandemic.

When the chips are low, it is expected PAP would not get the overwhelming mandate they are enjoying to be the helm of Singapore.

However, BN Secretary General Tan Sri Annuar Musa who is also Federal Territory Minister has come out to state that the Federal Govt under Prime Minister Muhyiddin is stable and moving forward, which indicates there isn’t a strong pressure for the latter to request for the permission from His Majesty YDP Agong to dissolve Parliament.

Govt is stable, no decision to dissolve Parliament – Annuar Musa

KUALA LUMPUR (June 26): The current Government is functioning well and there is no issue on the dissolution of Parliament to make way for a snap General Election, said Barisan Nasional secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

He said the coalition has not made any decision on the dissolution of Parliament and is now focusing on issues and problems faced by the people.

“The Government is performing well and for me, at the moment, there is no issue on Parliament dissolution because we already have a Prime Minister…no issue on instability too.

“I see a steady Government, the amount of support is increasing, the number of seats is also increasing as some (Members of Parliament) crossed over,” he told reporters after launching the Cartoonist vs COVID-19 exhibition at the Malaysia Cartoon and Comic House here today.

He was commenting on the statement by UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who urged Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to dissolve Parliament and pave the way for a General Election to be held following the current political uncertainty.

Annuar described the statement by Mohamad as his personal view and it does not represent the voice of the party.

Earlier, Annuar presented the Cartoonist Award 2020 to Ahmad Hilmy Abdullah, or better known as Mie for his contribution in the field of cartoon and comics in the country.

Meanwhile, the 59-year-old cartoonist, told reporters he spent his free time during the Movement Control Order (MCO) to create more artwork related to current issues including COVID-19.

“We use the information received to make the sketches based on the daily COVID-19 press conference. We draw in cartoon form, so it is easier for people to understand,” he added.

The Cartoonist vs COVID-19 exhibition features over 100 works of 24 local cartoonists and 11 from Singapore and Indonesia at the Malaysian Cartoon and Comic House beginning today until Aug 31.

Annuar is from the perspective of the executive since the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition Government under Prime Minister Muhyiddin is still at infancy stage (100 days) but manage to bring about decisions and roll out action plan, for the nation and most Malaysians especially under the global humanity and economic crisis due to Covid-19 Pandemic.

President Zahid and Deputy President Mohamad are focused to utilise PH position of disarray and complicated status of fragmented former partners.

It is the best time to capitalise all opportunities and at the same time capitulate any shred of opportunity PH leaders getting back together and organise themselves, as per 8 March 2016.

In Sun Tzu ‘Art of War’ verse 18 Chapter 1:

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

*********

At the moment, PH leaders Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Anwar Ibrahim, Mohamad Sabu, Lim Guan Eng and Shafie Apdal have appeared to be not working together, for a political objective.

A good example is the notion for having Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal as the next Prime Minister.

Growing support for third PM candidate in Harapan Plus

Published 10 h ago Updated 10 h ago

As Pakatan Harapan and its allies are stuck with an impasse over the choice between Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim, increasingly another name has popped up as an option for the opposition coalition’s prime minister candidate.

Shafie Apdal, who is the president of Sabah ruling party Warisan, has recently become the talk among top political circles as the potential face for Harapan Plus in their bid to retake Putrajaya from the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN).

*********

This itself would be futile, as it is unlikely that the rest of Malaysia outside Sabah would want Shafie Apdal to the Prime Minister.

More so, when he was once being investigated for abuse of power and graft, if not ‘Kleptocracy’.

It is believed that this PH at its weakest ebb, all and in sundry.

UMNO President Ahmad Zahid and Deputy President Mohamad, who are both not in Government, are cracking the whip so that party members and ordinary voters are psyched that Muafakat Nasional is ready to face the Malaysian voters for a fresh mandate.

They wanted something to go rotten in Denmark

The recent developments proven that former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his PH political bandits wanted to politically prosecute, as part of the strategy of deceit, lies and manipulation to oust Barisan Nasional under Prime Minister Dato Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak in the precursor to the 14GE.

Former Attorney General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali’s Facebook posting 10 June 2020:

A prelude to a chapter in my memoirs!

One evening in January 2018, Dato Sri Gopal Sri Ram came to my house after a couple of calls wanting to speak to me personally and privately.

Since he was a former brother judge, I obliged.

He had indicated that he wanted to persuade me further to unfreeze the accounts of a certain firm as the lawyers who had engaged him needed to be paid and it was from that said account that they were to be paid from.

He had earlier sent in a representation to the AGC as I was the AG at that time but after consultation with the officers in the criminal division, I wrote to him with a negative response.

He arrived at my house with a young Chinese lawyer, and upon sitting down, he launched into his long argument of why I shouldn’t have responded negatively but I countered him and explained that everything I had put in the reply was carefully thought out and argued amongst us in chambers.

Then suddenly, he said, that that was only an excuse to see me and that he had a bigger agenda at hand.

“Tun M sent me to see you.”

“ He wants you to arrest Najib at his office, you go tomorrow at 2pm, we have arranged for the police in Putrajaya to do what is necessary on your instructions. We have also arranged for a magistrate to issue the remand order when he is brought before him or her.”

“Brother, you will be a hero in the eyes of the people and you will be the first AG to arrest a sitting Prime Minister.”

“Don’t worry, we have laid the ground plans, all I need now is for you to agree.”

Then I asked him, “ On what grounds is he supposed to be arrested for?”

He said: “Brother, people out there are frustrated and unhappy, the fact that you arrest him, never mind the reason, will make people happy.”

Gopal Sri Ram was persuasive and he had wanted a response immediately.
I said to let me sleep on it.

He then left with the young Chinese lawyer he brought with him.

At that time, my family and I were also under attack in social media, not only from the opposition but also from within the then government of the day cyber troopers.

There is no reason for me to save anyone when I was “everyone’s enemy.”

Gopal Sri Ram can deny this but I would like to caution that at that material time I was the AG and my house was fitted with CCTV, (one specifically for the hall) and not to mention my bodyguards and the police personnel who was manning the guardhouse in front of my house – CCTV will not lie and I, too, have witnesses.

*********

This shocking revelation is an evidence how a former FCJ turned practicing barrister who took political side imposed his long term personal and professional relationship on then the AG, to play into the political play.

It is Dr Mahathir evil strategy of deceit, lies and manipulation to oust then Prime Minister Najib and the BN administration, using unscrupulous means.

This came after former Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Patail’s affidavit on the graft and CBT charges brought upon Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, right after 14GE was concluded.

********

These developments are examples of the perversion of the course of justice.

What would be Bar Council’s position on these latest developments. Particularly, the legal ethics of one of its members.

Of course, in the minds of the common people the position of ex-FCJ Gopal Sri Ram now playing a pivotal role as the lead prosecutor in all the charges against former Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak, now being heard in the courts.
