The Federal Territory Minister using official correspondence wrote a ‘letter of support’ to the Prime Minister, for a local politician and his firm as a contractor in a package for the Central Spine Road Project on 22 May 2020.

Probably if the Minister’s portfolio is Public Works, he would be in much better position to recommend the firm due to probable consideration of the firm’s technical and financial capability, experience and track record and previous performance, to undertake such a major infrastructure project.
A week later the Prime Minister minuted to his Chief Principal Private Secretary requesting his officer to refer to the relevant Ministry.
Leadership, is one of those elements the Rakyat is yearn for the most challenging moments in our nation together. The continued practice of cronyism is definitely not it, regardless what the rationalisation and excuses be offered trying to take ‘two wrongs and making in right’.
