‘Level Four’ legacy lives on in DPM’s office

It seems that newly elected UMNO Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin’s tentacles in the Prime Minister’s Department is still very much strong and far reaching. His strategic adviser and close confidante Rashid Yusof has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyddin Mohd. Yasin’s Press Secretary.

This surprise appointment is something everyone should be wary about. Even though the appointment was on recommendations of Perak MB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, many are skeptical of Rashid’s professionalism in handling the media affairs of the DPM. Till present, Rashid has been said to be very defensive when attacks were made on Khairy.

Much to majority’s relieve, the Rembau MP was omitted from the Cabinet list announced 9 April 2009. Despite winning the UMNO Youth Chief post equivalent of an UMNO Vice President, it clearly shows that Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak was vehemently not in favour of the ‘founder’ and ‘controller’ of the ‘Level Four Boys’. These highly ambitious young men were very good of manipulating mainstream media to spin stories, something which too many educated and ICT-politically savvy Malaysians loathe.

It was said Dr Zambry’s intentions were the “bridge the gap” between Khairy and the UMNO President, who has been seen not earning any shred of favours with Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak. Rashid was quoted to have said “I will do my level best to recucicate KJ back into Najib’s favour, through Muhyiddin’s office”.

Fourth Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad specifically warned about Dato’ Seri Najib having his own ‘Level Four Boys’. Now, it is clear that the legacy of the dreaded ‘invisible hand’ lives on, even in a slightly different form.

  1. Hopefully Muhyiddin knows how to handle this KJ’s spy-cam…

  2. muhyiddin yang pandai sgt pegi accept the appointment tu apa pasal???

benda mcm ni pun tak leh control???

  3. It’s a wise political move by Muhyiddin.
    Embrace your supposed enemy.
You will gain friends and less enemies to contend with.
Why must there be vengeance between Umno memmbers which will he exploited by the opposition.
Anyways Rashid is a salaried worker and he knows who his boss is.
And enough of this KJ bashing please
    He’s already eaten humble pie.
Teach him the straight road instead of isolating him.
He is a vice-president who has a voice in Umno’s future course.

    • True.

Sun Tzu mentioned in the Art of War, “Keep your friends close, but keep your enemy closer”. However, keeping ‘your enemy close’ should not mean bringing one of them into your private office and give him responsibilities which can undermine all your media/PR ‘strategic’ work (something which will affect us in the long run).

PM ‘Flip-Flop’ Abdullah made this irreverseble mistake when he brought Kalimullah “Riong Kali” Hassan in. See how his reputation was severely damaged and irrepairable with all the spinning, when he employed the wrong guy!

We feel strongly that TSMY is a very important asset to DSNTR’s admministration and shouldnt be marred by appointing a KJman into his private office.

We here at BigDogDotCom vehemently disagree that KJ has ‘repented’ and ‘eaten the humble pie’. Most probably he is just lying low to avod detection, especially when there is so much public outcry on the 304 Pemuda UMNO delegates who made the grave mistake of electing him as the Ketua Pemuda UMNO.

      • Yep i undersnd you well sir.
But i still feel KJ is a young punk who is more syiok sendiri..
O forgive the young for they know not their follies.

  4. Why take the corrupter’s crony to reform. Is there anybody else out there that can do the same job?

    • Well said.

Isn’t there other former journalist, who can do equally or better job, professionally, without having a ‘tainted association’?

Please mind that politics is all about PERCEPTION!

  5. Rashid is professional no question about it. He can work with anybody that pays him well. I know Rashid very well, since he was with NST. Rashid, Yusof, Samsul and Nizam (kicap) once covered Sabah’s state election, they really did their job well — they painted Kota Kinabalu red each and every night during the two weeks campaign.
When they were back in Kuala Lumpur all of them left NST. Rashid became senior Press Advisor to Tun Daim then the Finance Minister, Samsul joined the Star, Kicap joined Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Perak and become a close associate to Dr Zambry. Yusof started his own business and Travel Malaysia.
They are the real journlists and can deliver as expected by their bosses. They have no political agenda, they only works for the bosses.
To Rsshid, congratulations and to Yusof, Nizam and Samsul your turn will be coming soon.

    Cheers buddies.

  6. I think there’s a lot more important issues to discuss with rather than dwelling into petty issues like this. What is more important is to make sure BN grows stronger and win back the support from the rakyat. After all, these people are also UMNO members.

  7. Agree with siakap..
    Better Rashid then BigDog.

  8. Salam Dog,

with due respect… Its easy to blame on people but I personally feel that you are wrong this time. Rashid is a professional. He is no politician. Please do not drag a person’s good name. What you are saying is all fitnah. But you are a dog. A big dog who just writes everything negative about whoever are close or working for pak lah or kj. Grow up and start praying to Allah and seek His forgiveness on all the fitbah you have been spreading. This is a time for change in umno. Pak Najib has bigger challenges ahead.
