Uncle Lim, What skeletons are you hiding?

Godfather of Chinese Chauvinist political agenda in the Malay Peninsular, 1967 till present day

They say the truth hurts. Some people are edgy about many finding out the truth because they have a dark secret statched in a closet or trunk somewhere, which they fear would be open and the ‘Pandora Box of Evils’ come haunting again.

‘Tanda Putera’, the film on the lives of Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman between May 1969 to January 1976 by acclaimed filmmaker Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba really hit on the controversy note to a handful of Malaysians. Particularly some minority band within the Malaysian Chinese, who are presently out to gain power by the same strategies they had since the 1960s.They were carrying out radicalism and anti-establishment subversive activities to topple the Federal Government then. They are still doing it now, but with slightly different ‘Politics of Hatred’ tactics.

Chinese Chauvinist Emperor Lim Kit Siang is flipping over a small posting in Facebook, with regards of him being arrested for denial of entry into Sabah when Dato’ Harris Salleh’s Berjaya Government was still in power in 1984.

Kit Siang: I was defamed on Tanda Putera’s Facebook page

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 —  DAP’s Lim Kit Siang today said he remains unconvinced with the explanation by the director of the controversial movie “Tanda Putera”, saying that he had been defamed on its official Facebook page. The film-maker Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba yesterday denied reports that the re-telling of the May 13, 1969 riots features a scene depicting Lim as having urinated at a flagpole of the then Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Harun Idris’s residence.

Lim refuted Shuhaimi, claiming that a photo of him being “manhandled” with a caption saying he had urinated at the said flagpole “was posted in the album in the “Tanda Putera” Facebook titled “Peristiwa-peristiwa yang dimuatkan di dalam filem ini” (Events depicted in this movie).”

“Shuhaimi’s explanation that the creators of the film had received many photographs from netizens which were shared on the

Facebook page, including the offending picture, and that it was removed…after complaints were received about the photo, is neither credible nor acceptable,” Lim wrote in a statement today.

He claimed “the defamatory and baseless allegation…was made by Tanda Putera official Facebook page itself, and not a ‘shared information’ from netizens”, adding that this gave a “clear impression” that the photo was taken from the movie.

“Unless there is a satisfactory and adequate explanation or accounting for the defamatory reference featuring me in the Tanda Putera official Facebook page, I reserve the right to take legal action against such defamation.”

Lim slammed Shuhaimi for taking “almost four long weeks” to tell the public that he was “not even featured in the footage of the film” since reports of it first surfaced.

Lim alleged that Shuhaimi’s slow response had allowed “UMNO/Barisan Nasional (BN) cybertroopers” to accuse him of “provoking” the May 13 riots “based on the movie’s alleged “urination” episode.”

Lim stressed that he couldn’t have provoked the riots in the capital city as he “was simply not in Kuala Lumpur on May 11, 12 and 13 of 1969.”

“Even the photograph that was used in the movie’s earlier Facebook page was not a photograph taken in 1969 but was from a different incident in Sabah 15 years later in 1984.”

Lim said Shuhaimi should know that any “unfair…portrayal of the May 13 riots in…10 minutes is not only capable of overshadowing the rest of the 105 minutes of the film, but have the disastrous effect of dividing instead of uniting Malaysians,” said the Ipoh Timur MP.

“Do we want to continue to allow the May 13 past to haunt and divide Malaysians or do we want to move forward as one united people building a better and brighter future for all Malaysians, learning from the lessons of May 13?” he asked.

**************

That photo, which was posted by one of the commenters in the ‘Tanda Putera’ Facebook, was erred to state “Lim was arrested because he urinated at the flagpole”. It has been taken out since. That couldn’t be an issue anymore.

Those who have seen the film, agreed that it is a great depiction of what had happened before, during and most importantly, all decisions, planning, policies and implementation actions post 13 May 1969 racial riots. This include getting situation out of chaos into order and slowly bring it into normalcy and uniting all Malaysians together in the midst of ‘the wounds of the 13 May’.

The fact is that, the ’13 May’ bit of ‘Tanda Putera’ was based on the National Operation Council report.

Significant events within the period that happened and shaped the nation to what it is today, were portrayed. Like the 1971 great flood of Kuala Lumpur. The communist terrorists assassinations of IGP Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Salleh in June 1974, Perak CPO Tan Sri Khoo Chong Kong in November 1975 and the attempt on DSP Kulasingam, who was the CID man hunting down the killers of IGP, were depicted clearly on how brutal they were to gain power.

Other events include the trip Tun Razak made to China and starting a diplomatic relationship with the Superpower in Asia, the birth of Malaysia Airlines System (MAS) in October 1972 and the Second Prime Minister’s frequent visits to the rural areas and close monitoring the implementation of the New Economic Policy (NEP) as a tool to uplift socio-economic standing and narrowing the economic gap for the nation’s majority really made their mark.

A scene in a London flat where Tun Rahah and Dr Macpherson attending to Tun Razak, who is in pain

In between that, Shuhaimi also captured the imagination of her audience taken through the emotional tragedy of watching both Tun Razak and Tun Dr Ismail suffering from terminally illnesses and the two men confided with each other on their predicaments. Then for many Malaysians who are not conversant with history, came the shocking passing of Deputy Prime Minister Tun Dr Ismail due to massive heart attack when his own wife was admitted for miscarriage. To top it all, Prime Minister Tun Razak was in Ottawa, Canada attending the Commonwealth Head of Government Meeting. The Prime Minister was at lost as his closest partner in rebuilding Malaysia after the 13 May tragedy is now gone.

The last 20% of ‘Tanda Putera’ was the depiction of how Tun Razak suffered from advanced leukemia, going to London for the final round of treatment and tragically passed away without regaining his health even though he was very insistent that he needed to do more and much work still needed to be done. For many including yours truly, to be relived the experience of watching the Jalur Gemilang wrapped casket bearing the remains of the Prime Minister being taken out from Malaysia Airlines System’s B707 9M-MRC in Subang Airport, is unequivocally heart wrenching.

It is something all Malaysians need to watch and experience. Nothing in the film depicted any of the characters or connotes anyone who is supposed to be ‘Lim Kit Siang’.

Unless there are a group of minority Malaysians, especially have been up to no good trying to impose themselves using the most evil methods abusing the democracy and democratic process all these years to gain power such as continuously provoking the good nature and patience of the majority, manipulation and fabrication of facts and perpetuating a lie in their sordid strategy of ‘Politics of Hatred’.

In short, they have something really dark to hide. And they don’t want younger Malaysians to be made to realize who they actually are all these years and their agenda remained the same with minor adjustments to their strategy.

The fact is that neither Lim Kit Siang, his closest advisers, the web of media that constantly prop him and his agenda nor his party supporters actually saw the film ‘Tanda Putera’. Those who have watched the film, be it selected members from the media, randomly picked sampling from the younger Malaysian segments and even them are Opposition parties’ members, all agreed that ‘Tanda Putera’ was telling a story based on actual history. All loved it and agreed that all Malaysians should watch this.

Since Pesona Pictures already obtained a PG13 certificate from the Film Censorship Board on 13 June and now FINAS already slotted the film for 15 November public screening in the cinemas, we suggest Lim and all his cohorts of ‘minority imposing against the majority will’ pre-book the tickets and watch and experience it for themselves, before they start flipping around making baseless accusations. Just like what they are doing today, pre-empting which is suspiciously pointing that they have something really dark and evil to hide.

Just like this one, a speech he made early this year prompting that Malaysians are ready for a ‘revolution’ as a pre-cursor of post 13 GE.

Then, it is clearly he had been something up to no good then and still is, even after 45 years. Chinese Chauvinist DAP hands were deep into the 13 May tragedy.  Just like how DAP was insistent to demand that Communist Party of Malaya Secretary General Chin “Butcher of Malaya” Peng be allowed back and die at his birthplace in Sitiawan, Perak. The Min Yuens live within the pockets of modern and intellectual Malaysians today, in just different forms and approaches. However, the objective in the agenda is still the same.

Probably the agenda for the minority to over power the majority, be it by brutal force or manipulating the democratic process, remained the same. Hence, the ‘Pandora Box’ is about Lim Kit Siang, not ‘Tanda Putera’.

Scene in ‘Tanda Putera’ depicting the radicals and subversive elements instigating the Chinese to provoke the majority Malays, during the May 1969 GE

George Santayana’s immortal words, “Those who failed to learn from history are doomed to repeat the mistakes again”. ‘Tanda Putera’ is also about a dark Malaysian history which enabled steps be taken and policies implemented that shaped Malaysia to what it is today. It is also a very strong reminder that these agenda of ‘minority imposing against the will of the majority’ and ‘Politics of Hatred’ should no longer be allowed carry on.

It is obvious he has reasons to fear ‘Tanda Putera’. And all the pre-emptive strikes must come now before 15 November, when the majority of Malaysians especially the younger segments go and pay RM 10.00 (without the popcorn and drink) and understand what had Lim Kit Siang and his cohorts of Chinese Chauvinist movements all about and been up to these past 45 years.

  1. Just before 13 May 1969, I watched Lim Kit Siang sitting together with Tan Chee Koon on a lorry parading along Jalan Sentul, celebrating their election victory. And of course there were others on the lorry, boisteorus and shouting abuse; there was also a long line of followers on motorcycles who behaved very badly. They were shouting, spitting and urinating along the way.

Although I was among those who welcomed a balanced representation in Parliament, I was very angry at the way the “victors” behaved. I’m sure many others were even angrier.

I’m not sure on which night the parade was held but it was very very close to the 13th of May, 1969, couldn’t have been more than 1 or 2 days earlier. Check thoroughly Lim Kit Siang’s assertion that he was away in Sabah on 11, 12 and 13 May 1969.

    • Whether he was in KL or not, he was the DAP boss at that time. He should have been responsible – he must have seen the boisterous behaviour, and surely rude, racially insulting, seditious and provocative words were uttered by DAP members when he was on that lorry that day you saw him.

He also knew racial tension was brewing even before that – he was one of those who used unacceptable words, rhetorics and tone during the 1969 election campaign speeches just weeks before the riots.

He has to be made responsible, stated and shown so repeatedly. He knows he had responsibility, has been trying hard to cover his arse, even got the bugger Kua siong what’s his name to write a book trying to deflect responsibility over the race riots to – of all people – Tun A Razak. But Kua siong and Kit Siang quarreled big after that and the fellow seditious author bolted out of DAP. Crazy fellows. And his book bolted out of the book stands – nobody believed what he said.

      • Now is 2012 why are we still dig back 1969 and blame on races ,party, political ideology .please wake up we are malaysian by (more) than 2nd and 3rd generations.I am Malaysian.

    • Apabila Dosa mengejar Diri.LKS tak cukup tanah nak lari.

  2. Why make fuzz over Tanda Putera?

Before this, they made a fuzz over historical depiction that seemed bias towards Chinese.

But that is history and it is communist and subversive elements being accused off.

    So they cool down.

Now it is about Lim Kit Sial claiming being depicted in movie.

Shuhaimi Baba kata tidak dan si tua krepot dah patut mampus sama-sama Lee Kuan Yew tak mahu terima.

Dia pula gets petty with excuses of being defamed on Facebook and accusing BN CYbertroopers did this and that.

    Sekarang kebenaran nak terserlah!

  3. Why is Mr LKS trying to kick up a fuss and get the film banned without even seeing it?
I followed the facebook comments from day one. It was his supporters who insisted the film had a character portraying him Actually the admin had replied a few times that there was no such character. But his supporters would not let up. Not only did they come cursing and swearing, they were trying to paint a bad picture of the movie.
Come on la Mr LKS, for all your lament on the lack of freedom of speech, you’re just doing the same thing as the Govt. when it concerns you. Even after the Director publicly denied you were featured in the movie, your supporters are still insisting there is such a character.

    • He kicks a fuss because he has been living in infamy over responsibility regarding the 1969 race riots.

It has been haunting him for the past 40 years and he’ll do anything trying to get himself off the hooks. It’s guilt conscience, plus the need to stop people refer to 13 May 1969. He even opposed History as a compulsory subject in school. Not wanting future generations to know of his and DAP’s role in the race riots.

When DPM TS Muhyiddin reminded the public not to say or do things that may lead to a 1969 race riots situation, he accused the DPM of politics of hatred. But DAP has been doing politics of hatred since the party was formed.

      • I was around during 13 May ’69. I dont like it but now I feel another 13 May should happen to teach the chinese a lesson, this time hopefully, they will NEVER forget.

  5. Quote Lim stressed that he couldn’t have provoked the riots in the capital city as he “was simply not in Kuala Lumpur on May 11, 12 and 13 of 1969.” Unquote.
Maybe then LKS shd share with Msians where he was and what he was up to on May 11, 12, and 13 (or the days preceding) of 1969. Can?

  6. Mr LKS, who do you want to hoodwink?
Up beat political figure like you not in the crowd to celebrate a victory and claim “was simply not in Kuala Lumpur on May 11, 12 and 13 of 1969.” Are you afraid?

  7. LKS and dapsters are promoting the film without intending to. His aggressive reaction points to his guilt.

High time every Malaysian gets to watch the relay of historical events. May the truth prevail.

  8. There are already many criticisms hurled at the Suhaimi Baba ‘s film “Tanda Putera”. Some say Suhaimi should have consulted historians first. What do they mean? It is about time that the May 13 tragedy be told. And if it had to be portrayed as part of a film that tells the history of Malaysia, so be it. Must parts of history of this country be erased or consigned to cold storage just because some groups don’t like it or afraid of their own shadows? There is no such thing of ‘ nak jaga hati ‘ any party or any group because the incident was not a fairy tale. It happened and was real. No one could change or undo it. I wonder which part of May 13 that was considered as inaccurately portrayed in Tanda Putera. The more we layan puak2 yg nak memadam peristiwa2 tertentu dlm sejarah, the more melampau they will become. Should we let such groups take control of this nation’s history?

    • No, no, no. Emphatically no. Over my dead body, as Karpal Singh said to Nikki Aziz.

      Agree with your points.

These Opposition fellows are typical – make wild, unsubstantiated and unjustified accusations. We’ll accuse them back. Sometimes their style. Let them taste their own medicine.

  9. It’s utterly disgusting that these DAP blokes want to deny DAP involvement and responsibility in the events that led to and in sparking the 13 May race riots. And not accepting the facts as contained in the National Operations Council report entitled, “13 May 1969: A Tragedy”, published in October 1969, which anyone can Google.

That Report was produced by the authorities handling the racially tense situation in the aftermath of the riots, completely aware of the need to cool down heightened feelings and racial animosity still existing, carefully choosing what to be said in the report produced four months after the highly emotionally charged event.

Hence, the authorities chose to produce many extracts of Police reports made by Police Officers, non-commissioned Officers and the ordinary Policemen themselves. Those who personally witnessed what happened, particularly the boisterous, rude and insulting words and acts of those in the convoys of cars, vans and lorries passing by the Police Stations and the Police living quarters along Jalan Pudu, Jalan Travers and Brickfields. Those who saw DAP members and others carrying the Rocket flags and banners behaving very seditiously and highly provocatively.

DAP leaders and members simply cannot be saying that those reports were cooked up, inaccurate, or that the Police were not trustworthy and unreliable. Only communists and subversives think and say those. Indeed former IGP Tun Hanif Omar who had an active part in the NOC administration at that time has said of the communists and subversives taking part in the race riots of 1969, and he sees some indication of that in the fracas of recent times. And Lim Kit Siang wants the communist terrorist leader Chin Peng be allowed to enter the country. That may be telling.

  10. What skeletons LKS hiding? Plenty. All rotten ones. Even bones rot as far as he is concerned. Archaeologists will be hugely disappointed when doing a job on him. Haba haba.

  11. “…after complaints were received about the photo, is neither credible nor acceptable,” Lim wrote in a statement today.”

and I supposed we all have to believe Eunuch Lim is THE CREDIBLE source of information here.

“……Lim stressed that he couldn’t have provoked the riots in the capital city as he “was simply not in Kuala Lumpur on May 11, 12 and 13 of 1969.”

Eunuch Lim, where the heck do you think Hitler was when the Nazi invaded Poland and subsequently the rest of Europe? yet we all know who is responsible for those attrocities.

– kirim salam!

    • Tepat!

Kalau tak silap, salahsatu butir penting perbincangan semasa MAGERAN hendak ditubuhkan selepas berlaku pergaduhan/rusuhan kaum di Kuala Lumpur pada 13 Mei ialah Tentera tidak boleh menjamin tiada rampasan kuasa kerana Askar Melayu (tulangbelakang Tentera) merasakan Tunku Abdul Rahman terlalu kompromi & mengalah dgn Cina sampai Cina naik muka!

Maka dgn hujah itu, Parlimen dibubarkan & Undang Undang Darurat dilaksana, utk kawal keadaan & sedikit sebanyak menentukan Tentera tidak membuat rampasan kuasa.

Keadaan ini (perasaan yg sama) berlaku sekarang. Ramai org org Melayu merasakan org Cina diberi terlalu banyak muka, sampai naik tocang!

Banyak dah org Melayu ‘buat baik’ utk masyarakat Cina kebelakangan ni. Org Melayu jgnlah pulak buat jahat. Org Melayu bukan jenis bangsa yg suka buat jahat kerana sifat org Melayu sejak dulu ialah ‘inclusivity’. Kita suka hidup bermasyarakat.

      AKU SUNGGUH TAK PAHAM!!!!!

  12. The dalang Lim Kit Siang showed up at Bersih 3.0. But the smart and ultra kiasu bugger quietly cabut lari after showing his face, presumably knowing the rally would turn ugly – like the victory celebrations that led to the race riots of 13 May 1969. Crafty devil.

But the other dalang who came out together with LKS used hand signals and Dataran Merdeka was breached and Bersih ugliness started. And today the French news agency reported:

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) – Malaysia’s opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim plans to end his 30-year political career if he fails to unseat Prime Minister Najib Razak at the next election, he said.

    Boleh caya ke itu semua?
